If I could give this place six stars then I would! Very well appointed, spacious rooms, with tranquil outdoor seating areas. A complimentary bottle of sparkling wine in the room, complimentary wine and nibbles in Reception late afternoon, complimentary basic breakfast, and free WiFi. Also ample off-road parking. A few minutes walk to the harbour/beach and about a 12 minutes walk to the State Street bars and restaurants. All staff are really friendly and helpful. I’d recommend everyone to stay here.

Extremely well maintained and clean, even the parking lot has fresh lavender 🥰 Friendly staff, amazing location, and fun amenities for a great time in SB (breakfast in am, free beach cruisers, & wine in the evening)

This motel was in a perfect location for enjoying the beach, Stearn's wharf & the Funk Zone; SB new eclectic wine tasting area! But the rooms were small for the price paid & the old direct TV channels that sometimes u could not get were very disappointing. Would I stay here again? Hmmmm, let me ask Mr. Silverfish!

Lavender By The Sea is an exceptional hotel in every way. We waited until our trip was over as we stayed in six different hotels and we wanted to see which one gave us the most. We were celebrating a significant wedding anniversary and Lavender By The Sea was the only hotel out of the six who acknowledged it in any way and to be clear the other five were also aware of our anniversary too. From the moment we walked in Justin the assistant manager was outstanding. He acknowledged our anniversary and this meant so much and this is what puts this hotel ahead of the rest. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite and when we got into our room there was a bottle of sparkling wine, a handwritten card for our anniversary and chocolates waiting for us it was such a lovely thought. As other guests have said the rooms were outstanding, the breakfasts was above and beyond what we expected ,the evening drinks and cookies, the free hire of the bicycles, this is what sets this hotel apart from all the rest. We could not fault Lavender By The Sea in any way and especially we noticed in some of the hotels outrageous resort fees you really have a hotel which has the customer at heart and great value for money. We have contacted our travel company and this is the hotel which was our top recommendation. Thank you we loved your hotel.

I had an upstairs room and it felt like the mattress was 40 years old. Even the pillows seemed very old, like 1000s of heads rested on them. When checking in I wasn't notified that I had to ask for clean towels. And there wasn't any signage in the room letting me know. When I let the host know he said management would call me. Never heard a word. If you like pre-packaged eggs from Costco then you'll enjoy the breakfast. Don't recommend this Inn at all.

We were here for our first year anniversary. Magical city and magical hotel! Had an absolutely wonderful time at this place. Super clean rooms, good breakfast and lovely greens around the place! Also got a free upgrade to a junior suite and a bottle of champagne 🍾 waiting for us in the fridge as we had booked for longer time. Thank you lovely people, we’ll be back again!

What a gem of a hotel! Felt very homely and quaint, lovely lavender touches everywhere, good pool and free bikes to rent, breakfast was good and there was free wine and snacks each afternoon, such good service

A nice quaint inn in a great location. The concierge? Next level. Amazing. A modest breakfast in the morning was a good addition. Now the room itself wasn’t as glam as the photos online made it seem. A little older maybe? Again, not bad, but do know it looked a little different online. Still a nice enough place.

This inn was a beautiful stay on our way back up the coast. It was close to downtown Santa Barbara State St. The staff at the Lavender and the sister hotel were very kind and helpful. It was clean and comfortable, the pool was nice, and there were free bike rentals at their sister hotel across the street which was awesome. We biked around SB and had a blast.

Charming “bed & breakfast” feel to this quaint high quality motel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Alex was the “Gen Z” clerk who didn’t know who Kenny Loggins was 🎸, however he is super knowledgeable in the culinary scene here. And Mario, support staff, checked in on us as after hours (7:00 PM) you need to use the lobby across the street to get keys. All good! Safe neighborhood and east walk down the block to park and beach!

Staff was great here. Amenities in room and Lobby were very thought out. Appreciated have melon and yogurt with fruit. Definately a step above other places we stayed this past week. Wished we stayed several nights.

A delightful stay - the room was quiet, clean and comfortable. We were able to borrow bikes for the day and cycle around Santa Barbara which was awesome. There were also some other lovely surprises such as complimentary wine and nibbles in the afternoon.

This was a wonderful place to stay and I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. The rooms are older, but well kept and the only real issue was the lack of plugs for charging your phone or other things. Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay. The breakfast was fantastic and the evening cheese and wine was lovely. I loved all of it.

I am OBSESSED with this inn! My boyfriend and I were traveling down the PCH and this was definitely our favorite inn we stayed at. The service was amazing, free bottle of champagne, happy hour and breakfast! The pool was a tad cold but also refreshing. Wonderful that they had towels ready at the pool for you to take. The courtyard is gorgeous and so relaxing. The inn is a few blocks away from the marina which is perfect. There were complementary bikes that made it easy to ride the beach and go down to state st. We only stayed here for one night but I wish it was longer. Will definitely be staying here again if we return to the area!

Stayed here for a weekend getaway. Had a great time. Good breakfast that is included. They also have happy hour included with nice wines and cheese. Bikes available to use. Good location as I was able to walk everywhere. Has a great time.

Im not sure how they have any good reviews.Worst hotel we have ever stayed at!! Greedy people. Run, run, run. We booked 2 nights and left after 1. We explained that the bed was concave and hurt my back. They had no more rooms to move to. Would not refund or offer any credit. Stay far away from these money hungry crooks. They took a nasty old motel and call it a b&b, added bikes to use and a cheap bottle of champagne to your old room to make you feel special. The bfast is horrid too. We attempted to handle it and work it out but they were not reasonable in any way. No apology even. Unbelievable.

A very nice two story older property spotlessly maintained and very comfortable. A secluded patio and pool. Very good breakfast and late afternoon snacks also included. Just a short drive from the shore Blvd beaches and State Street with tons of shopping and some very good restaurants. Airport shuttle available.

I stayed here for my birthday and the staff were amazing. Rooms are clean, hotel is a walking distance from the beach and we had complimentary bikes to bike along the beach! Very well maintained property! Breakfast was delicious, they had a great selection and we had complimentary champagne! Thank you!

Absolutely recommend. Great large room, spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed, lovely garden and outside spaces. Charming, helpful staff. Very good value compared to many other hotels we have stayed at in California.

Jose at the front desk provided amazing service. He was extremely helpful and very informative. Enjoyed our conversations. Room was old. Needs to be updated. Shower was big and nice. Amenities were great! Pool, hot tub across the street, front area perfect for drinking wine, breakfast and happy hour every day was a nice touch. We bought the Santa Barbara hotel group package. Came with a bottle of wine, chocolates, wine tour, $50 gift certificate to Bouchon, and a sunset cruise. Great deal! Hotel was located a short walk from the beach and near Stearns Wharf.

The front desk receptionist Arron was super helpful. The rooms are adorable and very comfortable. It feels like being home. Seriously the best hotel I've ever stayed at. They upgraded us for free, and left is a complimentary bottle of champagne, and its very close to a lot of great stores and restaurants. I've already decided this is my birthday destination.

Great location close to the harbour. Friendly staff who couldn’t have looked after us any better. The free breakfast was very well presented and included a wide range of fruits, pastries and hot items. It was nice to have a satellite TV in the room and the hotel also provides a wide range of DVDs as well. Santa Barbara is an amazingly relaxed and safe place to escape to.

When I booked this hotel I was just looking for a place to stay for the night. I was blown away. It was so cute, clean and the staff was amazing. I was blown away. The rooms were way larger than I expected too. 10/10 would stay again. Also you get a bottle of champagne when you check in.

A nice hotel sufficiently close to the beach and southern end of State Street to make most beach, shopping and restaurant excursions walkable. Breakfast food was okay, not great. There's a nice balcony off the breakfast room that's very pleasant place to eat breakfast if the weather's good. Our room was great. It had a small safe that locked with a physical key. The hotel is associated with the one across the road, and bikes are available to use for free for up to 4 hours at that one. However, my wife's wouldn't shift into the lowest gears, making hills hard going, and the saddle on my bike was loose. Definitely have a ride around the parking lot before setting off to ensure everything works! Complementary cookies and wine are provided in the afternoon and both were excellent. All the staff very friendly and helpful, and overall we had a great time.

We happened upon this hotel and are glad we did; we loved this little quaint hotel! Everything was clean and beautifully landscaped. Very very nice staff, too!

Great little hotel with great personal service. Bottle of fizz in room when you arrive. They gave us some great maps and a whole list of bars and restaurants. Only slight complaint was the noisy aircon, but apart from that it was lovely

Nice place. Rooms come with complimentary bottle of champagne. The place also provides a continental breakfast 6am-10am and from 4pm-6pm the provide a wine and cookies for all guests. The place is walking distance to Santa Barbara beach.

Staying here at the moment on our family Californian road trip. I have to say , the service is excellent. Everybody we have dealt with has gone out of their way to make sure our stay is as enjoyable as possible. I'm generally too lazy to write reviews but this lot deserve a big thumbs up. Also.... excellent coffee and free bike hire. What not to like.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon for two nights and out of all the hotels we stayed in across America (8 in total) this one was the best! We were upgraded to the suite which was such a lovely touch and it was absolutely gorgeous, so spacious and so clean. The staff (especially Arron - apologies if I've got that wrong) were so incredibly helpful, kind and informative. The complimentary bike hire from across the road at their sister hotel was so appreciated and the route that we were shown that we could follow was brilliant! The swimming pool was an added bonus. Thank you very much for a lovely stay and a warm welcome to Santa Barbara! We will recommend to anyone going there!

Not our first stay. We have been coming here and the sister hotels in the last few months, hence the reason I booked them directly for this weekend for my mom's bday. While not expecting special treatment, we got a cold treatment at check-in and only when they figured we booked directly treated us human beings. Still didn't worth much as we were told our room will will be ready in an hour...after waiting 45 min. we asked the maid who had no clue that our room ahould have been cleaned! It is not how we were treated before and puts a break for our xmas plan that I already booked in advance also directly. I don't need a cookie cutter copy/paste apology. I want others know how loyalty does not count here! Also, how poorly they treat you, ruining of your special weekend and occasion.

Note: I try not to write bad reviews, but I had to make an exception for this experience. Covid food protocols were a complete joke - they offer small plastic bags of pre-chosen cereal and a little yogurt (but only if you ask for it the day before, otherwise you get nothing). They lost a gift for my parents that I had talked to the front desk about in advance and had then shipped to the inn. I called the front desk an hour before their arrival and was assured they had the gift and were going to give it to my parents. My parents never saw it, and when they asked the front desk the person there said he had no idea what they were talking about. Finally, I booked the entire trip as a gift and when they arrived, they made my parents pay, even though my card was on file and I had made clear I was paying for it. When I found out and called, the person on the phone was incredibly rude to me. Do not go here, seriously. This place ruined what was supposed to be a surprise gift getaway.

The room was clean and comfortable. A little out dated. The grab and go breakfast was simple but good. The 1/2 bottle of champagne was a nice touch. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location and easy to find.

Great Service, Great location. Rooms are clean, little dated, bed is really comfy. Perfect stop for couple of days in June. Their sister hotel across the street lends bikes to get around SB as well. I would def recommend this place and will use them for our return stay.

Nicely decorated rooms with comfortable beds. Bathrooms with showers and complimentary shampoo, soaps and lotions. Free, in room wi-fi, TV and , A/C. Complimentary champagne in the fridge along with breakfast goodies. Clean and quiet. We have stayed several times and have enjoyed each visit

Discovered this place through hotwire and loved it! The room was clean and comfortable with a King bedroom and separate living area with pull out couch. There was a complimentary bottle of champagne waiting in the room and lavendar sachets on the bed. The location is great, the staff is super friendly and accommodating, and the sister hotel across the street lends bikes for free. Really loved the quaint feel of this place and will definitely stay here again!
