I was pleasantly surprised at this hotel. Clean, well maintained. Arriving early, they were able to get me into my room several hours before check in, and with my plans changing, allowed me to check out a day early and didn't charge me for the additional day. Today, when everyone seems to have a no refund policy, without even expecting it, they did the right thing. While most of my visit was in Santa Barbara, this hotel is in Goleta, the adjacent town to Santa Barbara, a bit out of the way from downtown and the waterfront, but inspite of that, with the way they do business, I'd much rather deal with a class act like this, then the waterfront hotels that stick it to you without remorse. As a side note, The adjacent Goleta strip stores have a ton of shops, and it looks like everything is new. Seems to me Goleda took the downtime during the pandemic slowdown to improve infrastructure and beautify. Excellent.

I stayed here for 2 nights for work. The location is decent; easy to get to from the freeway, and there are plenty of stores, restaurants, grocery etc in the surrounding area. The pros are definitely that parking was free and that they include breakfast, which starts at 7am. I also noticed a lot of construction workers stay here. It would be nice if they started breakfast earlier, like maybe 6am or 6:30am. The 2 mornings I was here, the breakfast area does fill up and there is no where to sit inside. They do have some tables outside or you could just take it back to your room to eat. They had different breakfast items every day and had a chalkboard listing what items they'd have. They even had one of those automatic pancake makers where you could watch your pancake being made. I actually didn't think the pancake was very good.. lol. The mini quiche were good and I just stuck with the English muffins and cream cheese. I did notice that they did not allow pets/dogs at this Best Western; most of them do. So if you are looking to stay here with your dog, note that the hotel right next to this Best Western does allow dogs. Anyway, I had a room all the way in the back with 2 queen beds. The room had everything I needed, like a small desk, towels, a small Keurig machine etc. Overall I found the bed was uncomfortable as were the pillows. I should have brought my own pillow lol. Also the morning that I was checking out, one of the housekeepers knocked on my door around 745am and I told her that I hadn't checked out yet. She said it was OK. They also leave their carts in the middle and made it hard to get around them to get back to my room. I just thought that was a little weird and they could have coordinated better on when guests checked out rather than going room to room that early.

I actually like this hotel, have stayed here a few times before. This trip I was here for work and I had a jack hammer right outside my room, making it hard to do anything. I dont know how they can still charge the prices they do with this level of construction. If you do not need the room in the day, this hotel is probably fine. If you need to work, I suggest the Ramada down the street. Costs less and no noise.

If you want to enjoy your trip with insects, that's the best place to go. I stayed in this hotel on business in August, I found a cockroach after the shower and was horrified. Maybe it came in through the window in the shower because there is an open space, I ran out and immediately put on my clothes and went to the reception, the young ladies changed my room and told me to talk to the manager tomorrow (they were pretty nice). However, when I went to the reception the day after, other staff (an old woman) told me that they had never heard of this kind of situation in the 20 years she has been working here, and what more do I want since they already changed my room. Maybe she wants to say I'm lying and just want some money back but this is a business trip for me so I'm not paying for anything. I didn't speak to the manager after that because I really don't want anything to do with this hotel anymore. Worst hotel experience ever, unhygenic and horrible staff members!!! Good advice: always take your phone with you to take pictures on time, I didn't have that opportunity because I didn't have my phone with me in the shower, so I couldn't take pictures. Clearly the owners of this hotel (see his anwser) take pride in the little beasts in their hotel rooms and the disrespectful behavior of the staff members. No wonder the service is so poor, it's true what it says and what it does.

First, some good things. It is walking distance to Trade Joe and a few restaurants. The courtyard garden and the small swimming pool are nice. However, there is huge room for improvement. The room is somehow not very clean. Both the closet and the fridge were rather smelly, for some reason. The handle bars of the drawers and the closet were sticky, not sure why. In addition, the bed linen is very thin and the pillows are lumpy. All the linen and towels feel very old. There is a train line nearby and make rather loud noise until past 10 pm (not very frequent though). From very early morning, the airplanes at the airport nearby start to make their loud noise when taking off (not frequent but enough to keep me awake.) You might need to arrange your bedtime well if you want to get 7 hours of sleep, assuming you don't have ear-plugs. Due to shortage of staff (from covid), the room is not cleaned every day, sometimes not even upon request. I ended up changing the linen and taking out the trash myself a few times during my two weeks stay there. To summarize, if you have to stay here for some reason, you might consider bringing some air freshener and ear plugs.

If you are looking for yourself or your family, reconsider there are much better hotels in the area with a friendlier morning staff. I told the receptionist I needed to reserve for my family and at first, I was met with friendly customer service. Everything went South from there, some staff receptionists were sarcastic and aggressive was checked out without my knowledge when attempting to rebook since I did so from my computer. I was constantly contacted by the property and there is absolutely no privacy. On the last day of the reservation, I was unable to access the room because I hadn't "paid for it" despite them running my credit cards every day of my stay. Communicated to the staff consistently about my situation and contacted all of my banks. Unless you want to be stranded in Santa Barbara, stay somewhere else. The housekeeping packed my things and I am still looking for my watch. "I have 4 pending charges on 2 cards so I would appreciate it if someone could explain the situation better instead of rotating among numerous employees that do not know the circumstances, my family was in town for my birthday and this has been by far the worst experience. I don't need an explanation or passive-aggressive response, clearly, other customers have had a similar experience ^^^"

Great location for work, places to eat and drinks. The rooms and the exterior are very well taken care of. Great selection for breakfast. Thank you for my upgrade to king suite. I am sure I will be back for more work.

Great room, great area, friendly staff. Definitely the top of the line of all Best Western hotels I have stayed at. Right off the 101, few miles from the beach in Goleta. And a quick trip to downtown Santa Barbara. Awesome breakfast to top it off too! Highly recommend

My flight was late so I had a late check-in. The gentleman on duty was wonderful, friendly and helpful. The Best of the best. The bed was one of the best hotel beds I've slept in. Hot breakfast buffet was perfect.

Great Motel in Goleta (Santa Barbara, CA) - very clean room, friendly staff and great breakfast. And one of the nicest courtyards I’ve seen on years 🤩. Highly recommended 💪🏻

Refrigerator didn’t work and was replaced after a day and half of reminding. One of the hotel staff was great and replaced the fridge finally. Shower water flows out of bathroom into the room. AC unit gets too hot or too cold. Towels had damages, stains etc. Bedsheets had some black/dust stains too. The toiletries were bare minimum. Breakfast was good and the person preparing the breakfast buffet was very nice and patient. She’s simply great!

I was attending a conference at UCSB and this was the conference hotel. Check in was pleasant enough - but when I went to the room, there was a very strong pungent smell of drainage that permeated the entire room. The smell was particularly strong in the restroom. I asked for a change of room and they sent someone to "fix" the problem - the "fix" was to spray the room with air freshener which does not obviously get rid of problems associated with drainage. The change of room request was denied. At that point, I left the hotel. They were decent enough to not charge me for the stay. But be warned of this issue with the hotel.

Construction happening mon-frid 8am-5pm. Elevator located at the back of the building on the outside. Not accessible through lobby. Not very accessible if you have heavy luggage or have limited mobility. Carts need to be dragged around to backside of elevator from lobby. This was a real big inconvenience for me so consider it if you have lots of luggage or people who can't go up stairs. No shampoo dispensers, instead small bottles so request more if you are staying longer than a day or have a family with you. Comfortable bed with soft sheets. No coffee beyond breakfast hours. Breakfast menu changes, pancake dispenser makes sad pancakes.

I was told (by reservations) prior to checking in that I would have no problem using my Best Western Rewards gift cards when I check into my room that I had reserved several months in advance. When I arrived, the front desk said that they were not authorized to accept them, and that I would need to speak with manager the next day. The next day I went to the front desk and asked for the manager, only to be informed that the manager was at a convention and would be gone for a few days. I have always enjoyed being a Best Western loyal over the years, however, this horrible experience has me considering switching over to the Marriott Bonvoy Team.

This is definitely not Any Plus hotel . It’s a cheap near the road motel with cat walks . Cheap bedding with very much used sheets . So incredibly overpriced . We paid almost 190$ for this cheap motel pretending to be Best western plus . The only good thing was here is large TV .

Comfortable bed and pillows, quiet, beautiful lobby and outdoor area, great full breakfast, nice staff, and one of the more affordable hotels in the expensive area of Santa Barbara. Fanatastic view from the courtyard.

Overall hotel was fine. Nice pool and breakfast. My biggest issue is when we checked in on a Monday night they must have had several rooms available because they asked if we wanted the first or second floor. I opted for the first floor. Everything was fine until the morning when they started to remodel the room right next to us promptly in the morning. Lots of construction noise and there was tools and supplies outside of our room pretty much the entire morning. We were planning a slow start the morning and unfortunately it wasn’t pleasant with all that noise. The other minor grip was in the morning of our departure. We had a very early flight and I went to the lobby to get coffee and it was empty. The desk check said there wouldn’t be more until breakfast started, which was slightly disappointing, as we had to leave prior to breakfast. I thought it would have been nice if he offered to make some more.

Our favorite place to stay near Santa Barbara. Had an issue with stay last month, however, Nicole Weland, Manager did an excellent job of rectifying it. Thank you, we will definately be back again.

Basically a bland motor lodge type hotel. Nicely landscaped and well-maintained green space. Nice pool area.Rooms look like every other chain hotel of this type. Weirdly shaped pillows, unreliable wi fi, bad TV reception, lots of pickup trucks in the parking lot. Front desk check/in girl acted like she was reading a script, going through motions.

Bed comfy, shampoo/conditioner were really nice on my hair. wster pressure was great, the shower floor was the highlight of rhe room though. after a long dsy of work, it was sooo soothing on the feet.

This hotel remains one of the best in the area. Room was clean and quiet. Breakfast buffet is good. Staff is cordial. The grounds are beautiful. Ample nearby food, groceries and other other stores. Convenient to airport and highway. Only minus was the low water pressure but that is not their fault.

Pleasant front desk staff. On the other hand if you are a Princess like moi, you too will be irritated. I was roused very early by many noisy contractor-visitor trucks departing. Noisy garbage collection truck too, I think. The internet was unusably overloaded after 9pm. Hot water takes a loooong time to arrive in shower, but of course you don't personally pay by the gallon .

This Best Western is great! Lobby big and clean ,great breakfast area and the outdoor pool area is fantastic. The room looks modern and very clean. They really outdid themselves with this Gen. Near markets, restaurants UCSB ,We came to visit our daughter for her birthday. We will be returning again for sure. Friendly staff as well.

I stayed here while visiting my son at UCSB. The hotel was perfect for my needs. It is clean, the room was fine with all the usual amenities. It is in a fairly busy location, but I found it somewhat peaceful. There is a fine looking resort type pool. The breakfast was delicious and not too crowded. There is a shopping center and Trader Joes about 10 minutes walk. The staff seemed friendly and gave me privacy. No criticisms at all. I will be returning

This property was great for our one night stay. Breakfast was excellent and the front desk staff very helpful and courteous! Bianca went above and beyond in helping us get situated after a 4.5 hour flight delay, car rental closed, etc etc. Then having my phone fall out of my pocket in the taxi. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. The welcoming of front desk staff, the help in locating my phone (iPad app) to locate the address where my phone was and the phone call made to the taxi driver was all facilitated by the team. They were wonderful and I so appreciate the help. Taxi driver brought it to me when picking us up in the morning. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend to all. Thank you staff!!
