Attention!!! I was stay there 4 months ago , today they tried to charge me $118 from my bank account. I declined and made fraud claim. Be careful with them, they are saving your bank card info and charging after couple months again. I’m going to call Better Business Bureau and FBI Bank fraud department too.

Clean quiet comfortable and at a fair price. Nice hot shower and good coffee in the morning. Plenty of safe parking and a couple of real good movie channels on the TV, what more could I ask for? The air conditioning was top notch also.

The room is decent. Clean. Mostly a decent room. Back in the day(if this weren’t Santa Barbara) this room would run $29-$39. Not $100 a night but whatever. My issues are the Dish network is an absolute joke. Only basic channels. Come on!! Also the windows are thin and i can hear everything outside especially in the morning. The ac heater unit is ok but wish it had an even lower output setting. But really the only thing i couldn’t actually stand was the cheap dollar store mattress. Way too firm. Decent mattresses are actually not very expensive (Costco). I wouldn’t come back just because of that.

Being at the beginning of my stay currently, I can say im unimpressed. So, im.back in SB for funeral, and normally I have had very good luck with Motel 6's in the past. True, their not a hoity toity Santa Barabara resort, but they are still exactly what Tom Bodett used to say about them in the old commercials. This one barely met even those humble standards. Full disclosure, I booked the room the Expedia. Went to check in to find our that the queen he'd I booked through Expedia somehow magically was transformed into a handicapped accessible room. Then I was told they couldn't change the room, because it was booked through Expedia. Except, you know, for an up charge they could get me into a room with 2 double beds instead. Seriously, it's just me in the room. I don't need either a two bed room or a handicap accessible room. But I'm not going to pay more to change what I didn't book in the first place. The room itself seemed clean, but dingy and old looking. The furniture made Ikea look like quality craftsmanship. The bed, well it's typical I suppose. The place really needs a make over in order to keep up with comparably priced alternatives. You can color me unimpressed. Good thing I'm only sleeping there. If this was a business trip, I'd have been furious! Edit- seriously? The TV is wonky. The color is all off (a serious magenta wash). I tried hooking up my computer to the TV with the provided ports via HDMI and nope! It won't play anything other than the normal TV channels. I went to go to the vending machine and get some water (SB tap water is terrible!). Nope, all out. So sure, Gatorade. Better than soda, but there was no other choices.

Pretty clean. Our AC wasn't great, but the weather outside was delightful. We just like moving air and there was none inside. Checking staff were accommodating to a miscommunication on our part so that was nice. The location was good for us so that made it pretty handy.

BEST DECENT PLACE TO STAY IN GOLETA!! The price and the value are GOOD! It's in a great place, right on Calle Real across from Walgreens, next to CVS, and the bowling alley. There are shops, eateries, banks, gas stations, grocery stores, and a movie theatre. It's in a safe area, in a neighborhood. The prices are good, and you get a good clean room, at a decent rate. The front desk person seemed a little tired and grouchy, but perhaps he was giving a bad day. My friend stayed here on a Friday and a Sunday night. She said she would stay again in the future and would recommend it to others.

Free parking is nice, and the fridge in the room is helpful. The rooms are very tight with no real space to move. We also had to wait outside the main office a few times when we had a question or problem and nobody was there to assist. Upon check in, we were assigned a room and took our key and went to the room but there were people in the room. We ended up getting assigned a new room but it was a little off putting seeing that we had working keys to a strangers room.

I have always liked Motel 6, especially the Motel 6 in Goleta, California. The girls work hard to keep these rooms in good shape. Except upon checking in last night, I noticed there was no microwave. I’ll see what they can do for me later on today. Thank you for your time, good morning.

Less than optimal for a Motel 6 experience. Though the room looked like it had undergone a modernization renovation in at least the past few years, the renovations were made as if they asked for the cheapest and quickest way to do so. This ended up with aspects of the room that one questioned if the sealant is truly sealant, or blood from the last visitor. The floor definitely had not been cleaned between guests as there was a sticky red spill in the middle of the room. The AC units was flowing with dust. The door did not close properly and let bugs in. This location needs a bit of improvement. There was, however, a nice coffee location next-door and a café down the road, neither affiliated, but a nice addition to the stay.

Great stay. Room was updated and clean, this motel is next to a bowling alley and I visited for a drink. It was a quiet stay without any problems. There is a dog area in the back parking area with doggie poop bags and a trash can, the pool was open till 9pm, very clean. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here last week for a few days. Its close to UCSB which was nice while dropping our student off at school. Its has lots of businesses near it one being a Dune coffee at the top of the entrance and a Coffee Bean and Tea leave a short walk away. I personally preferred Coffee Bean. Also Zoko bowling is next door so an easy activity to get to should you want to get out of the room. The staff was friendly. We got a double bed room that was very tight on space. Beds right in the corners and a small path to get around. Not much room for bags if you have a lot. Bathroom fan and light fixture had quite a bit of dust/dirty so not sure how often they did a deeper clean. We may have been lucky with quite neighbors but did not hear much from other rooms. Keeping in mind this is a motel 6 and not the Ritz it was a great place to stay for the price. FYI we also stayed at the Motel 6 on State St in a double bed room and it was laid out exactly like this one.

Never thought I'd be paying $250.00 a night at Motel 6! I asked at the desk for Hair shampoo ? I was informed that no Motel 6s provide shampoo, just to tiny soap bars! You would think, if you're charging $250.00 a night you would be providing a little bit More ? Over priced, kinda outdated ? Remember Low Expectations if you chose to stay! Very Low Expectations!

I attempted to book a room for my seventeen year old, which was denied by this hotel, even though I was willing to assume all financial responsibility in writing. I did want to make them aware that this discrimination was against the law in CA. California law is reasonably clear that a hotel cannot discriminate based on age. A hotel cannot refuse to rent a room to an adult, or even to a minor if a parent or responsible adult is willing to accept liability. The requirement that a hotel rent to a minor if an adult guarantees against charges and damages is contained in Civil Code section 1865(d)(1): (1) Where a minor unaccompanied by an adult seeks accommodations, the innkeeper may require a parent or guardian of the minor, or another responsible adult, to assume, in writing, full liability for any and all proper charges and other obligations incurred by the minor for accommodations, food and beverages, and other services provided by or through the innkeeper, as well as for any and all injuries or damage caused by the minor to any person or property. There is also a substantial civil penalty that can be awarded against a hotel that discriminates. Under Civil Code section 52, a business that engages in prohibited discrimination (including age) is liable for a minimum of $4,000 in damages plus attorneys' fees.

Charged way too much, basically from taking advantage of rates for a busy weekend, for what was ultimately just a gross room (smelled off, thin walls, room feels quite old). Don’t be fooled by the price suggesting it might be a nicer location, it is still just a Motel 6 that SHOULD be charging well below the market.

Rooms were clean and plenty of towels. There are restaurants, pharmacies and various stores in around so it has a very good location. The staff was friendly and is the most price-convenient hotel you’ll find in Santa Barbara.

Felt safe.....I traveled with a friend who left after two days then I stayed 3 more days alone in back around the corner in #126 2 double beds ....sweet staff and my room was very VERY clean..... GREAT SHOWER wonderful water pressure......Beds are a little firm but tolerable enough for my bad hip (side sleeper).....I was on the ground floor and i did hear the people upstairs rolling suitcases....walking around and going in and out most of one of the nights...but mostly it wasn't too bad the other days/nights... Hard floors make it worse. Easy parking with a trailer..... They have washers and dryers for a fee and free ice and coffee and tea bags.

    1) This is a Very basic motel. The “standard” room has no coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer or shampoo. But it is likely the least expensive room you will find at around $119 posted rate plus about $20 more in taxes and fees. The “deluxe” room has a refrigerator and microwave, but no microwaveable paper cup, so you still need to get coffee at the reception, and the thermos may have just run dry when you get there. Bring your own cup. 2) Motel 6 is pet friendly. That may be good or bad for you. 3) This property has a bad relationship with hotels.com and bookings.com; I prepaid through bookings.com but when I arrived, the front desk said my card had been declined. I spent 45 minutes trying to sort it out and eventually paid again, and still do not know if I have double-paid for 4 nights.

Upon checking in I was informed I was aloud to leave my car for 5 minutes while I unpacked bags, I personally had injuries I needed to address urgently as well as change the bandages. Upon informing the front desk I was told it wouldn’t be a problem, only to hear knocking at my door within a minute asking me to move my car. After checking into the room I proceeded to inspect the bed and mattress and found a dark stain, picture linked below, after informing the front desk of this they told me they were not responsible as motel 6 changes mattresses every two years, yes, EVERY TWO YEARS, and was handed a new set of sheets as I was yet again talked down to by the front desk clerk. I’ve been checked in for 5 minutes and already considering leaving, I’d avoid this place at all costs.

Comfortable that close to highway! Good price! There is a swimming pool. Good parking lot. Walgreens close to the hotel. There was no refrigerator or microwave in the room, the ice machine was broken. The pool was dirty.

One of the best Motel 6s I've stayed in, as far as the cleanliness and general vibe. Had a weird experience with the angry manager, which was a bit shocking. However, he later apologized, and did solve my problem. A/C not the greatest.

Wi-Fi service was extremely poor. Even had trouble on using Google Map. Basically had no sound proofing. You could hear everything in your room. I gave it two star just because of its nice location

A good, comparatively more affordable option in SB. Has variable pricing. When not full, charges about $100-130/ night. But getting that price may require waiting til last minute, as their first prices are around $200.

Came for the Santa Barbara Zoo lights. This place was perfect for one or two nights. Affordable, clean, safe, right off the freeway and around great food options.

Five stars (all things being relative.... this is a Motel 6, not a Marriot). Super clean, comfortable, & pleasant room/beds/shower. Friendly front desk and housekeeping staff. Great location. I don't normally feel tempted by dinky motel pools, but this one is so nice and well maintained (with an 8' deep end) I totally would've take a swim (if it wasn't so cold during my stay). Much nicer than Carpenteria and East Beach Motel 6 locations nearby. Also, DUNE COFFEE right next door is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Our first time to visit a Motel 6. I liked it allot! I called it a 'Luxury Camp Trailer', full size beds touch the walls because there room is so small. I loved this, I had total control of the air-conditioner, curtain and window without leaving the bed. The fridge/ freezer is very spacious, you can grocery shop & have enough rooms for drinks. The cleaning lady beauty is very nice, the location has Everything you'd need right on the street. There's a bowling alley right next door, family oriented arcade, bowling, bar. Outdoor seating with sports playing on them. Drugstore and grocery store next door as well. Easy freeway access. We'll be back!

Extremely Spartan, bare-bones accommodations. The room was spotlessly clean and so was the bathroom, but it's definitely a no frills place. But since all we needed was a place to lay our heads overnight it sufficed. The staff (especially Isaac) was accommodating and courteous.

  • 4/5 Cindy L. 1 year ago on Google
The premises were clean as was the room. I’ve stumbled on a person shooting up in the back parking lot. I did not feel threatened. I felt the hotel was very safe overall. I would recommend it going forward, but be watchful.

I absolutely loved the place. It is very conveniently located near UCSB. The place was clean, fairly quiet and no trouble to be with the dog. I only wish they had shampoo… but hey, Walgreens was there very close. Also neat breakfast cafe nearby.
