The reason we chose this hotel was because of the free hot cooked breakfast that was supposed to be included. For the price, we thought that was decent considering we could have stayed elsewhere for the same price that included breakfast. So that’s disappointing! Also, parking fee of $10 was not mentioned when booking room either. The deluxe room IS nice though because there is a bedroom and a living room (where the sleeper sofa is) so can’t complain about that. Very spacious! So if you’re looking for free breakfast and free parking, look elsewhere. I should have called ahead and asked all the questions prior to reserving the room!!

Customer service was horrible when we first arrived. Her name was Odalys. She rude, doesn’t smile and not very helpful. The hotel is big rooms good size but it’s old. So our carpet stain and the toilet. Lots of bugs. If it can be updated it would make the perfect hotel. And they need new employees. I am bummed because I forgot the name of the guy who end up checking us in he was AMAZING!!!

Do not stay here. We drove from San Diego just to find out that the hotel is being renovated. No pool, no spa, no breakfast, no public areas, no refund for the inconvenience. There is no elevator and we were on the second floor. The hallway smelled like paint and so did the room. The a/c in the room was so loud, you could barely hear the TV. You cannot stream your services on the TVs. No instructions on how to work the automatic light in the bathroom. It just shuts off while in the shower. The outside is a construction area with lots of eye sores and the grounds are a mess. The pull-out sofa needs a new mattress. It was so uncomfortable and noticeably old. The extra blankets were throw size blankets. There is no fan in the bathroom. The decor was updated but for the money, it's not worth it because there are no amenities. Save your money and go somewhere else!!!

DO NOT STAY at this HOTEL. Made a huge mistake of reserving two nights here for a group of five. I made a reservation for five people: two queen size beds and one sofa bed. I paid for this arrangement but was told that this was not available anymore when I checked in after long drive in rain. The front desk basically told me that the only thing they would do is to waive pet fee: total of $40. One of my family had to sleep on the floor because they did not even have a futuon. The room is awefully smelly and outdated condition. The front desk also told me that I did not have to stay - yes, but when you arrived at night with a group, what choice do you have? Very customer service oriented hotel they are- hope you see the sarcasm here. You may stay here once their renovation is completed but till then stay away from this hotel. I canceled my 2nd night. There is no way I will stay here for my family. The worst service and hospitality.

What the Pacifica was once is no more. We used to love staying at the Pacifica. Sadly, it is worn down and service is not accommodating. If you are passing through maybe one night would be okay but if staying to enjoy Santa Barbara look elsewhere. Upon on our 1st night stay we called the front desk to report our bathroom ceiling was leaking all over the toliet and floor. They said they had no room to move us and sent someone to look at it. He cleaned it up but it didn't matter because it continued to leak. The hotel never once offered compensation for the one night and we are still wondering what they are doing to fix the problem. They moved us to an "upgraded" room. It was the same exact room there was no upgrade whatsoever. And upon going to this room now we got to listen to construction work that we were told was not beginning until 11/29. Outlets were broken, lampshades were bent. It was a sad state of affairs at Pacifica. We will not be giving them a second chance unless things get rectified about our compensation for one night.

Pros; beautiful property, comfy beds, attentive staff also linens were soft ie towels. Cons; Breakfast featured in pictures and on website but not available due to pandemic, pictures need to be removed and notated on website breakfast not available, also didn't appreciate additional parking fee should be included in room fee without notice. ALSO don't book a room where room construction is below.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced! Please do yourself a favor and do not stay here. The assistant manager refuses to honor the complimentary breakfast that was stated on our hotel booking! Furthermore, the AC was broken during our entire stay and we called multiple times requesting someone to come and take a look and they kept saying they will send someone but in 5 days no one ever showed up. Also very difficult to get anyone to clean the room.

Stayed for one night, could've stayed for more! This was one of the best hotels we've stayed at. Stayed in room #109, we did experience one issue with the tub/shower (no water) the front desk was quick to offer us a different room, it was just as stunning. Our room was apparently one of the newly renovated. The bed was very comfortable, the room was impeccable. We would definitely come back. I look forward to returning once all renovations are completed and all is available. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

I used to enjoy staying at the Pacifica Suites many years ago when it was a beautiful, fun and convenient place for families. During this latest stay, the hotel seemed run down, poorly maintained, and overpriced. The sofa bed in the outer room was super uncomfortable. Note that there is no breakfast or fresh coffee available and the hotel charges $10 per day just to park in the open parking lot. I would definitely not recommend the Pacific Suites.

Used to be a wonderful value, but not so much anymore. Beautiful property and nice size rooms, but in serious need of an update. Old TV's, no microwaves in the room, no breakfast or bar service. Now they charge for parking. :(

Current front desk staff is not nice. Bad vibes. Our rate was not honored at check in, even though we were emailed in advance that it would be. A male housekeeper came into our room at 8:30am without knocking and tried to kick us out early. It was a scary and odd exchange. The a/c is so loud, you have to turn it off to sleep. I do not recommend staying here. Very bad vibes all around.

We stayed here during our orientation visit at UCSB since it was only 6 minutes from campus. We were pleasantly surprised with our stay at this hotel. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. It was recently renovated and had a few minor hiccups during our visit but the staff handled everything with professionalism. Our room was beyond any hotel room that I've stayed in. The decor was beautifully designed There was a living room with a sleeper sofa and a bedroom with 2 queen beds. The living room also had a small fridge, electric teapot (something I never find in a hotel room), coffee pods, tea bags, a large t.v., lamps, foot stools and a balcony outside with chairs and a small table. The living and bedroom was separated with a door that could be closed or opened for noise control. The bedroom had 2 queen beds, another large tv, dresser, plenty of plugs for charging devices and a small closet. The bathroom was spacious with the sink outside of the bathroom but still separate from the bedroom. There was a door that could be closed from the dressing/sink area and the bedroom. They literally thought of everything you could want in a hotel room when designing this place. There's even no nasty dingy carpet that you usually find in hotel room. This one had hardwood floors which added to the charm of the room. Oh, and the beds. We got the most comfortable hotel sleep that we've had in a long time. Coming from a Hyatt at the beginning of our trip left us tired and weary from uncomfortable beds and pillows. Even the pillows here were so much better! The property has a swimming pool, lush outside grounds with tables and chairs, swing chairs, old fashioned rockers, pillows, a fire pit, just about anything you could want in an outside seating area. It's very charming and relaxing. Not to mention the breakfast that we had at the restaurant was creative, fresh, and so so tasty. Inside there's a beautiful lobby with a large seating area, soft music and a well stocked bar and bartender. We will definitely be back to this property when visiting my daughter in college.

Fantastic experience! Front desk people were super helpful and kind. We had A/C that wasn’t working when we arrived, but they upgraded us rooms immediately to make it right. The landscaping on the property was immaculate, and it felt like we were in a private resort away from everyone else. We would recommend staying at Pacifica Suites!

This hotel is a hidden gem! We just stayed here two nights for a wedding. I cannot express enough how beautiful it is. It is like an unexpected oasis and retreat in the midst of the town. The grounds and the the architecture are so pretty. From the interior design to the exterior landscaping, I was completely enthralled by the decor. It is truly extraordinary. Such attention to detail and beauty. The room was freshly remodeled and very clean. The rooms are suites with a bedroom and a living room (with a pullout sofa bed) making it feel so spacious and comfortable. A perfect place if you are traveling with more than three people. The staff was very helpful, friendly and courteous. This is our second time staying here. We were here two years ago, before the remodel, and also had a good experience that's why we returned. However as we were driving up here, I started reading the current reviews and started to second guess whether it had been the right choice. I was so happy to see that those reviews were not a reflection of how the hotel is now. They were reviews written when the hotel was still undergoing major renovations. So I'll give you my current opinion. What to expect now: The pool is open and awesome. So no worries there if you're looking forward to it like we were. The previous owners offered free breakfast, but it is no longer offered under the new ownership so don't expect it even though some third party sites might still show it. However, they have a great breakfast restaurant where you can purchase a delicious meal. There's free coffee in the lobby every morning until 11am. If you stay here you can expect beauty, relaxation, serenity, comfort and a great stay that will make you wish you could stay an extra day. Our only critique: The shower water is warm, just warm enough to be comfortable, but definitely needs be hotter. The double shower heads are a plus! I highly recommend this hotel and we will be staying here again when we return. If you choose to stay here I think you'll feel like you found a hidden gem too!

Booked a room weeks before trip to Santa Barbara when there were plenty of hotel options. Three days before checkin, Pacific Suites sent an email which said the hotel was under refurbishment and pool and ALL PUBLIC AREAS were unavailable. Many other hotel options were booked and what we found was 40% more expensive than had been. Such a deceptive set of actions.

Not pet friendly. They tried to stick us with an extra $50 non refundable "pet deposit" on top of $20 a night. This was not mentioned or included in reservation. The place is a mess right now during renovations. They barely do room clean ups and the old rooms are dumpy. Pool, jacuzzi lobby are all shut down. Not recommended

The swamp cooler kept going out, no actual AC. We would call the front to have the reset and they say they will send someone, no one ever showed up. It was uncomfortable.

Stayed here for the business trip I was going with a partner. The suite was pretty clean and spacy, but it was outdated and old. There were not many outlet for plugging in our phones and laptop. The shower head was rusty and caked up, so it hurt while taking a shower. The towels were very limited.

Good service and friendly staff. They took care of my needs except I did not get an accessible room that I needed. Overall the room was spacious but not clean and outdated.

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night in March 2022 without pre-booking. We came here just after sunset and asked the receptionist if there are any beds available for the night. Luckily they offered us one of their last rooms. We booked it while waiting in the lobby via booking.com and received the confirmation by the reception a short time after. The rooms are very ordinary. Clean, but a bit uncomfortable and old-fashioned. The fridge in our room was so loud that we had to switch it off when we went to bed. Big kudos to the receptionist Greg, who was extremly friendly and helpful on our inqueries. He's an awesome and exceptionally fun guy!

Over grown trees that hide hotel sign, no elevator, no luggage cart, no restaurant, food service nor daily house keeping service. 8 month advance reservation will get you into a room on back of property with view and noise of freeway, view of parking, renovation dumpster from room balcony, noise of renovation workers and machines ( 8 am saw), dirty, smelly, torn carpet, peeling wall paper, damaged furniture and lampshades, phones in room don't work (even when you call on personal cell and get replacement phone). In room fridge/freezer is missing freezer door and parts to hold bottles in fridge door, microwave smells like it's burning in first 30 seconds. Storage for housekeeping closet might as well have been inside our room when it is used. Remote guide button doesn't work, but if you call on your cell to front desk they will bring you a faded copy of a channel guide.

We had ants all over our bathroom sink area. They got all over my toiletries and towels. Also, no remote for TV in main living area. Finally, they advertise breakfast and don’t provide it. Not cool.

We've been staying at the Pacifica Suites in Santa Barbara for years. However, taking away the complementary breakfast and charging for parking really rubbed my wife and I the wrong way. The room is nice enough, albeit a little run down. This is probably the last time we stay here. :(

Wait until the remodel.... the rooms are fair at best. There is no daily cleaning services (not even for week long stays) The toilet stains and low water pressure were unacceptable for that price.
