I never give 5 stars. It has to be a very memorable dining experience. This place was exactly that. Superb, kind staff. Menu exploding with great choices. And a stellar atmosphere. None of it of course means a thing if the food is no good…. Which it most certainly was not. This is the kind of place you plan a trip back to California just to go to again.

I’m from out of town so I’m not accustomed to the expensive dinners. We had 8 people and it ended up being $74 a plate after a couple appetizers to share, a meal per person and a drink each. As far as I know they only offer outdoor seating and we went on a colder night. The fire pits provide very little heat. The atmosphere was great and the food was great but I was freezing and not thrilled with the bill. Highly recommend getting the Watermelon Salad. Mixed Shawarma was good but they short you on the sauce.

Lovely ambience and great service. For dinner, we sampled 3 appetizers. We had Batata Harra (tangy potato with coriander leaves) . Pistachio yogurt and mozzarella sticks. Dessert was fabulous- never had the combination of baklava and ice cream before. It was fantastic- helped that it was with McConnell’s ice cream which was super thick and creamy. They also have special fire pit tables which you can get if you are a group of 4+ people

Their menu doesn't change, and that's a good thing because everything on it is cooked to perfection. If you eat meat, try the mixed shawarma, the Malawi combo or the chicken kebab. They make amazing cocktails and baklava too. They also do hookah Sunday - Thursday.

I liked this place. It was in a business trip and I went out there by myself and I should wait even for one person and in a weekday afternoon about 20 minutes. Really nice place with plants everywhere in outsides. I got the mashawi combo that it was a mixture of beef chicken and lamb kabob. Kabobs were good but nothing exceptional but hummus and other salad and yoghurt sauce was really good. I haven’t tried their drinks which looked good. The price without any drink or anything else just the plate without tip but plus tax was $37. I will go back here to try other food and drink!

I LOVE this place!!! I always get the Vegetarian Choice because is a big portion and vegan, then I always get stuffed and I don’t leave the restaurant hungry. I highly recommend it, I bring my friends and family over and they can’t never wait to come back again! The service is fast and the manager is super sweet :)

Super nice place! Since the beginning they were very friendly, out waiter was fast, kind and attentive:) the food EXCEPTIONAL!! We had the hummus (ordered a new side cause it was delicious haha), falafel and the cheese sticks as an entree and the chicken kebab as a main course! All the flavors were perfectly combined and nothing was too strong. For dessert we ordered the Irish coffee ice cream ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and the baklava Next time I’m in Santa Barbara I will definitely come back I highly recommend this place

Very charming and romantic patio and space, food was okay, $20 watermelon salad, you have to buy sides of pita on top of the dip appetizer that comes with nothing to dip it in, so it all adds up quickly but drinks look good! Lamb was a little dry.

We loved everything. Ambiance. Food. Service. One star off because their deserts menu is very limited. Not everyone like gluten free chocolate cake. Some of us still want old fashioned real chocolate cake. Other then that, we love it and become regulars)

Wonderful drinks and great service. Really enjoyed the ambiance, went during a weekday and was moderately busy. Love the atmosphere of outside dining with a beautiful array of string lights, fire pit, backyard feeling. Recommend both the batata harra and the tabbouli. Wish there weren’t an additional charge for the small serving of pita offered.

There‘s a great amount of vegetarian options, and the ambiance was beautiful! I especially love how they have arranged the outdoor patio in a way that creates little sections of dining spaces to make the place feel smaller and more private (even right off of State Street!). The hummus was my favorite by far, but the labneh and pita bread were wonderful as well. The vegetarian choice was great and had a lot of flavor to offer. The only dish that I probably wouldn’t get again was the cheese sambosik, as the flavor was too uniform for me which made the cheese feel too much.

My lamb was a bit tough, it was like chewing tobacco. The eggplant dip was decent. The restaurant is beautiful and romantic. Bring your significant other here. My old Fashioned was not bad, it could be more.

Lovely food and atmosphere! We sat outside in the covered deck area which was nice. Food came out super quick so if you want more of a long / relaxed dining experience I would recommend staggering your order. Food was delicious! Recommend the watermelon salad.

Absolutely loved this place!! The food and service were amazing! The place is gorgeous and they definitely have great taste in music! The batata harra was a hit on our table, we had to order a second. The kabobs were cooked to perfection!! Everything was delicious!! Make sure to make reservations ahead of time, because there was a line of people waiting even before they opened. Can’t wait to go again while visiting California.

Fancy location with tasty food. The warm lighting along with the gas heaters make it a great location for dinner. The drinks are amazing (both visually and taste). Went for lemon chicken and vegetarian fest along with sides of pita and vegetable sticks. Serving size is good and all items were presented very nicely. Service is decently fast and our server took good care of us. Recommend to check for reservations based on the size of your party.

Quick Summary Solid food, excellent service, and a wonderful sunset/night time ambiance. Setting the trend of outdoor / romantically lit Santa Barbara dining, Zaytoon provides an excellent experience for any occassion Food- 5 stars Food was pretty good, with mainly mid-price selections. Quality ingredients and perfectly seasoned on all our dishes Mashawi combo- would recommend ordering this to try a bit of everything. The steak and lamb really stood out. Both were extremely tender and delicious Fries- they do a great job of deep frying here Cheese sambosik- this was pretty good. It was basically a tastier mozzarella stick with a smooth texture (not crispy) Battata harra- potatoes were prepared nicely here. Highly recommend for the acid lovers there Service- 5 stars Service was excellent throughout. It is nice to get here early (especially if you don't have a reservation). Well taken care of, and also gave us enough space too Ambiance- 5 stars This is what you're mainly here for. The outdoor dining patio is excellent for date nights or large gatherings. Try to get the center tables with the fireplaces if you're in a larger group Bottom Line Excellent dining experience with a wonderful outdoor dining patio. Always a good time at Zaytoon

I absolutely love visiting this establishment. We spent a wonderful evening at this place. The atmosphere is incredible. Very beautiful terrace. All the dishes were very tasty, the serving is beautiful, the food looks appetizing. The menu is not large, but there is plenty to choose from, a good selection of vegetarian options. Pleasant waiters. Acceptable prices. I highly recommend you visit this place. You will have a great rest and a delicious meal 100%

Absolutely delicious! One of our favorite places to dine in or take out. The falafels are perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside (not an easy feat). The spices and flavors are captivating and satiating. The meat is perfection. On top of the most scrumptious food the atmosphere is gorgeous and feels perfect for a special occasion, group event or casual evening. We love sitting at the tables with the fire pits and the string lighting makes things feel festive and cozy. Highly recommend. Even our pickiest eaters find many things they love on the menu. The service is also the right balance of attentive without being intrusive. We have been going here for many years and hope to for many more. We recently did take out and the food was ready promptly, perfect temperatures and well organized. Thank you!
