Large, wild natural beachfront park. Great spot for short 2-3 mi walk and/or run. Beach is often clothes optional to west of stairs. Harrier hawks, owls and swallows are common in park, plovers, sandpipers are common on beach. Fishing in kelp just off shore. Need to ride bike or park on Puente and walk in.

It’s a nude beach so head toward Hope Ranch if you have a family. I didn’t find the beach to be that nice heading the opposite anyway. Not many places to sit. I will say the view of the paragliders were fantastic and a great view of the mountains. Plus the water was really nice. There are plenty of bike paths which are nice if you don’t want to go down to the beach.

LOVED IT!!!!!! Absolutely STUNNING sunset from this vantage point!!!! It's definitely unstable as the cliffs are made of sand so be prepared and wear good shoes. The path leads from the top of the cliff all the way down to the beach and it was amazing!!!!! Definitely 100% recommend stopping by if you're in the area for incredible Cali views 💛

This place is beautiful. There are steps where you can get down to the beach. Oh there are nudist at the beach. Unfortunately I did not have enough time to walk to the other end. Will come back again if I am in Santa Barbara.

More Mesa Bluffs are AWESOME! I went riding through enormous poison oak forests on my Honda Trail bike, losing my exhaust guard in the process, and very nearly wiping out several times. It was great! Yes, you can access the beach from the bluffs. FYI, it is a nude beach (don't say I didnt warn you). If you are keen to sport your birthday suit in public, beware the creepers lurking in the bushes above and behind you: I will allow you to draw your own conclusions as to the nature of the rustling noises emanating from the shrubbery (personally, I don't want to know. Thanks). The preserve is enormous, and accessible via numerous streets/trails/bike paths/etc., from Hope Ranch all the way out to Patterson. Be sure to remember the way you came in: it is surprisingly easy to become lost - don't laugh! When you are arrested for trespassing, because Grandma has called 911, reporting a herd of drunk hobos crushing her roses - just remember who wisely suggested leaving a trail of bread crumbs - or beer cans - or whatnot - as opposed to traipsing through the tulips in someone's back yard, in an attempt to find your exit route! I've never seen hordes of people at More Mesa, but I always see at least a handful. I feel safe there, but I recommend exercising cautioun. Especially, if, like me, you are a female party of one: the area IS fairly isolated, and there are countless wooded/brushy areas where crazies may be skulking about. ALSO: POISON OAK SUCKS! I am astonishingly stupid, and have a red, itchy souvenir from my last visit. The oil stays on EVERYTHING until you wash it off with soap and water - explaining why my rash appeared 10 days later.

This is my 3rd time to More Mesa this year. I keep going back because the landscape keeps changing and the flowers keep taking turns blooming. I have been to More Mesa on foot and twice on mountain bicycle. As much as I love the Meadow view and looking over the cliff edge by the ocean, I really love hugging closer to the Creek and seeing the beautiful oak forest trail. Seldom do I see another person when I'm there.

Awesome for hikes, bikes, walks, and running. I take my dogs there often and it is their favorite thing. If you go somewhere in the middle there are some bike jumps that are fun to mess around at!!

I didn't know this place, but my friend said let's go there. Initially, I had the impression that it's a sketchy place, but after a while it became very nice. There are families walking around and the view is also nice. Still three stars because it's a little bit remote and maybe not that comforting if you want to go alone or with one other person (in my opinion at least).

Hot afternoon. Beautiful ocean sounds, smells and sights. Some nice bird sightings too. Very, very dry but a little green popping up from a soaking rain 4 days before.

Loved it, beautiful views and peaceful. A good number of people about but not crowded. Nice access to the beach.

Peaceful, untouched, and leaves you feeling more connected to nature and quieter in yourself. With the mountains one way and the ocean the other the More Mesa is a terrific place to reflect, ponder, and appreciate life’s gifts. The land’s immense beauty and switch back trails can keep you occupied for hours.

The More Mesa Preservation is a magical adventure, the ocean breeze, the prairie like open space with breathtaking views of the pacific. The stairway to Hope Ranch Beach, the walking trails. This a jewel and worth protecting for all community, residents, and travellers to cherich and enjoy. Greatful for all people that protect and advocate for natural open space.

It is very attractive and very pretty, in summer time.
