Do not stay here unless you don’t have any expectations! I expected coffee in the morning & was showed a jar of instant coffee. I expected clean & comfortable environment & was surprised to see a rat on the premises, mold in the bathroom, & the oldest , worse mattress ever! I was expecting breakfast but was told “No breakfast!” I expected someone to be present during our stay but Mei, the proprietor, was nowhere to be found. She apparently is there to check you in then she checks out & leaves. I expected a receipt when we left but was also told over the phone in words that were hard to understand, as Mei does not speak English very well, “no receipt!” Very unpleasant experience! Sad too because it could have been such a nice B&B!! It needs better management & updating!! It’s not worth the lower fees! You get what you pay for!!

We had a pleasant experience. It was quite, easy parking and affordable compared to Santa Barbra which is only 2 miles up the road. Think of it as a B&B without the breakfast. My wife needed a iron and board along with a hair dryer which the lady kindly provided. The bed was really firm. But we had full blown cable with HBO and all the trimmings. We’ll come back.

TV didn't work, dust and tree leaves under the bed, no enhanced cleaning, no central heating/ac, squeaky beds/doors/faucets, were not provided with clean towels or a clean room the following day because this location doesn't clean due to the pandemic, empty soap container, no tissue, warped/sunken mattresses, no iron/ironing board, no blow dryer, hair and spider in the tub, spiderwebs throughout the room, dirty/stained walls (brown, dry blood), no amenities, almost out of instant coffee in the lobby and had to scrape the sugar and creamer, city closes early, nice country decor, beach is 2-3 mins away. I loved this place! Might not be for everybody, but I thought it was a charming quaint hotel. If you like antique stores, this is like staying in one! Actually, there's one literally right across the street! The furniture here is very dated, but in a good way. The hotel is meant to be like a trip back to early mid-century. Yes, it's fairly minimal in amenities, and the old furniture creeks and smells a little funny, but it's not overbearing in anyway. I see a lot of people complaining about this, but I think they're missing the point! It's meant to be that way! Like I mentioned, if you like antiques and the feeling of going back a few years, then this is a great, fun spot to stay in the Santa Barbara area. It's like being in an old Hitchcock movie, which I'm a huge fan of!

From the reviews, I was very skeptical about staying here. But for the price and time I would be spending there, I booked a room. Unfortunately it was to be expected that my stay was a nightmare. Even though it was not expensive the room was dark, very dirty as well as the bathroom, the owner was not there for check out and last but absolutely not least! There were bugs and more precisely ants everywhere. My biggest surprise was to find out after take my suitcase out of my trunk that these ants came inside it. As a result I spent an hour removing then form my clothes. I do not recommend it at all you will be able to find much better places elsewhere!

Very convenient location next to freeway. Clean sheets. Noisy, outdated, dusty, bolt aND handle lock didn't line up to frame properly so door was difficult to lock. Not very clean. Carpet edges were dusty. First room we looked at had dark water stains on ceiling. Won't stay here again.

Antique and cottage could describe this location fairly well. Rooms and bathrooms are dark and bathrooms also had mold in several places. In my room there appears to be hastily patched water damage on the ceiling above the bed that's not painted over. We were able to find vacancy last minute on labor day weekend but it definitely would not be in my top 10 choices. Has potential as a B&B but no breakfast is offered here.

Lady was super nice, although it’s pretty atique was old which felt home-worthy, after all nights spent pretty good traffic not so bad but nice sleeping in.

Waited 30 minutes to be checked in due to the owner not being there. It was hard to understand her because she hardly spoke English. A person unlocked our door with their key trying to find their own room. When we took a shower the water leaked downstairs into another room and our water was turned off. There was no communication from the owner through the many times we attempted to call about the problem. There was mold in our bathroom, some towels were stained as well as some sheets had stains as well.

Don't even consider staying there. The electrical is a mess. The TV didn't work. The place had a high pitched buzz intermittently all night. If you enjoy hearing freeway traffic all night in addition to the totally disappointing room, then have fun.

This is the dustiest, dingiest hotel I have EVER stayed in. Stayed in 2021 and decided to try again this summer...no change. Will never be back at any savings of cost to stay in this area. Owner is sweet, but room unbelievably terrible.
