Customer service here is terrible! I wanted to treat my dad to a weekend getaway for his birthday with his wife and unfortunately we had a sudden death in the family. When I called asking to move the reservation it was within the timeframe in which you are no longer allowed to move reservations. I asked if they would be able to help us as I was not asking for my money back I was just asking for help around that difficult time for our family. The person who was helping me actually put up a fight at first then proceeded to make it seem as though they were doing me a huge favor by moving the reservation. No remorse just very apathetic. Unfortunately, the next reservation date fell when my dad was called into work last min and could not get out of it so I called again pleading if there was anything they could do to help us even though it was in the timeframe of when you could not move our reservation again. The person helping me this time proceeded to say, "well we already made an exception for you last time" (again, so apathetic to the situation) and I responded, "yes, because there was a death in the family!" Again, not asking for a refund just asking for a little assistance so my dad could still celebrate his birthday in what seemed like such a nice charming Inn. Ended the conversation with, "I can escalate this to my manger but I know it will get denied so let me know what you would like to do." I obviously escalated it and they denied it which is baffling to me. Why would you choose to keep half of the charge, still have an empty room and now disgruntled customers instead of moving the reservation getting the full payment and having happy customers? At the end of the day , I understand you have a job to do and a policy but you deal with people and are in the business of customer service which all of you are piss poor at. All I know is I will not be recommending this place to anyone I know.

My 2nd visit: friendly staff, nice rooms I was not bothered by highway. Trains. Set up is great bc balcony is in front and nice view of the ocean. I did get a massage and facial....wish I could have this weekly. Therapist was very skilled and hit the right areas correctly. Perhaps update jacuzzi , clean up shrubbery but enjoyable nonetheless. Great walkability to restaraunts, beach area. Great solo trip I slept well

The staff was outstanding, continually ready to help. The attendant who really look at us in was particularly useful and clarified everything completely. He recalled our name and was continually ready to assist with whatever we really wanted, astounding staff individuals! We likewise enjoyed how clean the lodging was, the cleaning staff is brilliant. I will prescribe this inn to my loved ones.

This is a very nice, clean and tastefully appointed b&b. Manager was very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast, fresh juice, coffee, and a surprise fresh chocolate chip cookie in the evening!! My only wish: firmer pillows on bed!!

The hotel in itself is really lovely. The atmosphere and interior is nice and done with good taste. The beds are wonderful. The staff is sweet and welcoming. Parking is free and easy. The breakfast is good if you like it. It's one dish to choose from and that may not be what all enjoy. I think it would be great with at least some bread. The last day we stayed the kitchen was closed so it was fruit, cake and s sweet strawberry yoghurt. You have to ask get your room done. I think it would be better if it was the other way around. In the afternoon there is a cheesecake. And be aware that there is a lot of noise from the highway so it's not so enjoyable to sit on the balcony even though the view to the ocean is lovely. When you close the door you almost can't here the highway but the air-conditioning then steps in instead. There is a fan in the roof which is nice. The location near the beach which is the best beach i ever been to and Santa Barbara is brilliant (you do need a car). Overall i think the price is to high compared to what you get. They need to step up the service! The rooms should be done every day, there should be a cake table in the afternoon, more things to choose from at breakfast and at least a chef every day. They could install some noise reducing appliances. Then I would come back.

Enjoyed our stay. Road noise is loud but it was not bothersome for sleeping or hanging out in the room. Air conditioner blocks the noise quite well. Bed comfy and linens very nice.

We had a great trip 4th of July trip here. Rooms were clean, big, great views. Service was excellent. Have free breakfast, tea, cheese and wine offerings. The views of the ocean are amazing. Jacuzzi was nice way to relax after drive in. If you do not have a car Uber or Lyft into Santa Barbara may take a few tries as drivers canceled, but there is a public bus available, which takes some planning. Check out A Sacred Place and Oceanview Park nearby.

We stayed at the inn for one night. The service was wonderful. Christopher the front desk manager was very attentive. The beds and bedding was so soft and luxurious to sleep on. The hot tub was the perfect temperature. The whole experience was a treat for myself and two adult daughters. The cons were the location. Beach access was reachable by car. The view was really a stretch from our balcony. The traffic, exhaust, and road noise was pretty loud. It was not close enough to Santa Barbara to get to easily. Traffic was really rough. I am a native Californian and have visited and stayed in many hotels and this inn is over priced.

My husband and I wanted a serene getaway in a sleepy little beach town just 10 mins south of downtown Santa Barbara and that is exactly what we got. I wish we were still at the Inn on Summer Hill! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful-Janelle, Melani and the other staff members were total all-stars during our stay. We were first greeted by Janelle upon check-in who was very very accommodating and warm. She made check in a total breeze, and was very informative about the perks at the Inn. Melani was also wonderfully hospitable and gave us excellent recommendations for dinner, and even offered us delicious snacks including wines, cheeses, crackers, and even a bonus brownie for my hubby! During our stay we also added on an additional day to our reservation and they were able to accommodate our request no problem. We also were able to request no room cleanings, and we were given fresh towels generously and regularly. The room itself was lovely, and even had a fireplace! This was perfect for us because we stayed there during the chill of winter. We also loved the location. The Inn is conveniently located on Lillie avenue, which is like the little main street of Summerland, which made it very easy to explore the local eateries, shops, coffee shops, Overlook Park etc. My husband and I were so busy enjoying the town we didn't have the chance to try breakfast at the Inn until the last day. The night before departure the staff sweetly reached out and wanted to schedule breakfast to be brought to us the next morning. We are so glad they did because breakfast was out of this world. It was divine...thick cut salty bacon, scrambled eggs, pop overs and perfectly seasoned fried fingerling potatoes. Melani also thoughtfully remembered I cannot eat gluten so she must have advised the cook, which is why I think they thoughtfully served the pop overs separately! They also served us OJ, coffee, and bananas. Not a skimpy breakfast whatsoever, and I was also not glutened in anyway! It was a wonderful way to end our stay there. We cannot wait to go back!

The room was beautiful, clean, and had a fantastic view of the ocean. The location was great, walking distance from a park that leads down to the beach, many markets and adorable boutiques and awesome restaurants. It was also a quick drive to many other places near by. We received turndown service on the first day, and breakfast was served each morning. Both days I stayed, the breakfast was delicious and there were many different continental options like croissants and oatmeal. Overall it was a great stay and I would recommend others to stay. The only drawback was it was right on a loud freeway. However, they leave earplugs for you in case you are a light sleeper. I am not, so it wasn't an issue for me.
