👍👍 Having so many buildings by the master architect Gaudí, perhaps this type of building would go unnoticed, but it seems to me that this building will attract attention. Having so many buildings by the master architect Gaudí, perhaps this type of building would go unnoticed, but it seems to me that this building will attract attention. The famous Marfá house or Marfá's Widow's house located on Paseo de Gracia very close to the famous Casa Milá (La Pedrera) and Casa Batllo in the city of Barcelona. This house was designed by the architect Manuel Comas i Thos and built between 1901 and 1905 and could be defined within the modernist style. I recommend visiting it even more if you are an architect or enjoy the buildings of the great masters of architecture. Now it is the headquarters of a Catalan university.

Excellent modernist building on Paseo de Grácia 66. Its architect was Manuel Comas i Thos and it was built between 1901 and 1905. As it is on the corner, it has two side stands whose bases are very well sculpted and are octagonal in shape. Front and center, on the first floor is a balcony with fine arches. On the ground floor, in the hall, there are three large and wide arches, which is where carriages used to enter. This hall leads to a wide staircase that is delicately carved and is beautiful. At the top of the stairwell there is a spectacular triangular-shaped glass skylight, decorated with flowers and bright colors. In this building there is currently the "Formatic Barna" Higher School of Public Relations and Marketing and the School of Communication, Tourism and Business.

The House that was owned by Isabel Palau i Vera (1870 - 1926), and Emili Marfà i Artigas (1860 - 1903), is today known as The Marfà Widow House, occupying a beautiful chamfer. Its construction lasted four years, beginning in 1901, under the direction of the architect Manuel Comas y Thos (1855 - 1914), with great neo-Gothic influence, which is clearly evident in the building, especially in its main façade with great medieval air. It also has a modernist influence on its ground floor, with the majesty of the entrance adapted to receive carriages, so typical of that time. Today, the building is occupied by different centers of teaching activity. A beautiful place to visit and admire on the emblematic and spectacular Paseo de Gràcia in Barcelona.

It is one of the many essential buildings on Paseo de Gracia. We didn't have the pleasure of seeing it inside since it was closed. It is a historicist style residence, a mixture of styles in its Gothic, neo-Gothic and modernist façade.

Although it was designed and built (1905) at the same time as many other famous modernist houses, Casa da Viúva Marfà follows the historicist or revivalist style, although it brings some modernist elements. It stands out for its grand carriage entrance, heavy wooden doors, stone arches and a sumptuous staircase leading to the upper floor. It currently houses the Escola Universitària Formatic Barcelona.
