To give this hotel a rating of 2/5 is extremely generous.Upon arriving at the hotel my family and I were greeted by a friendly receptionist( we wish we had asked his name) however we were made to pay a “touristic tax fee” of €33.60 per room( we had booked two rooms), this fee was completely unexpected and we were not informed about it prior to us booking. As well as this fee being unexpected it was also completely unreasonable as the rooms did not match what they were presented to look like on the website. We already knew that this hotel would not be up to the standards of a 5 star hotel however, the rooms were something out of a horror movie(not an exaggeration). The air conditioning was non existent despite the heat reaching temperatures up to 34 degrees, there was a particular problem with ants and cockroaches who even made there way into our beds, the walls are extremely thin and you can hear everything from the other rooms, especially the cleaners who decided to loudly clean at ungodly hours of the night(4 am.) The shower in one of the rooms we booked broke down halfway into our trip and instead of being compensated we were moved to an even worse room.(the next day someone else was put into a room with a faulty shower?) On top of the horrible excuses of rooms that are not fit for humans, the customer service of this hotel was extremely poor. The biggest issue was not even the language barrier it was the attitude and aura of some of the people at reception, again we wished we had asked the man who had greeted us for his name as every-time he was at reception he treated us with kindness and respect. Any other receptionists that were working there were extremely rude, stand-off ish and at times refused to even look at us when we spoke to them. Overall the only positive aspect of this hotel was the location, Sant Pau is beautiful area close to beaches, attractions, many restaurants and more. I don’t know how to express how much no one should EVER stay at this hotel.

Terrible experience, it’s a scam. We booked and paid through booking and then the hotel told us we had to pay again with credit card because booking wouldn’t pay before the end of the month. Then I asked to cancel the reservation and they didn’t want to. They just play to be paid through booking and then don’t allow you to get the room if you don’t pay again. If you pay again, you get the room but they get their money twice. If you don’t pay again, you don’t get the room but they anyways get the money through booking, and they can rent the room to someone else. It’s a scam. The persons implicated in this scam are a male person, who requires credit card details, and Carmen, who responds calls and as soon as you say you booked through booking, puts you on hold.

Unfortunately, my experience at H Top Barcelona City was far from satisfactory. The receptionist displayed rude behavior, which was disheartening. What baffled me even more was the policy of prohibiting guests entirely, something I've never encountered in any other hotel. Moreover, the requirement to surrender the room key at the reception before heading out and retrieving it upon return was inconvenient and unusual. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was subpar, and the presence of impolite staff members added to the unpleasant experience. Despite its decent location in San Pau, I cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment due to the combination of unfriendly staff, unsanitary conditions, and peculiar operational procedures. Future guests might want to consider these aspects before deciding on accommodation.

The rooms are very small and smells very bad. The AC does not work and they want guests to not change the temperature of AC. The walls are thin as hell , you can hear noises from all rooms. Mosquitos in the room too. If you are thinking of staying here just for the location, dont do it because metro connectivity in Barcelona is amazing, you can reach to city center in minutes from anywhere.

ΤΡΩΓΛΑΡΑ. (The greek comment you been looking for). Me and my 2 friends stayed for 3 nights. The room that was first given to us was too small and smelled mouldy.NO HEATING SYSTEM AT ALL IN ANY ROOM.And it was October y’all. :) No heating plus excessive humidity resulted in us getting sick.We got back to greece with fever and soar throat. I asked the receptionist to give us a better room.At first he denied saying it was too late, everything was already booked, and after shouting 3 words in Greece he finally gave us a “better room”.The only better about it is that it was slightly bigger.Lack of heating and humidity were still our major problems. Also awful smell and very noisy. Never ever again!

Rooms are clean, modestly-priced, and very safe. They took my boyfriend and me in while scrambling in the middle of the night to find somewhere to stay because we missed our flight so I'm obviously a fan. Shower has amazing pressure. They give you towels, soap, toothbrushes, etc. and there's a cleaning crew in the afternoon. Perfect location. Literally saved our lives.

Perfect value for money. Shower was great, bed was comfy and staff were really helpful. Fresh towels daily and always someone at front desk, even when we came back at 4/5/6am

It's cheap and the localisation is nice - and that is all. Is incredible noisy, you can hear everything, all neighbours, all over night. It's clean but it's hard to see that couse it's old and need renovation. The bethroom is scary... really small, old, damaged bath with, fungus- nothing nice. The Staff is nice. But it's better to find something else in similar price

Htop Barcelona is EXCELLENT. We stayed for 9 days and had a wonderful experience. Both of us are not native Spanish nor Catalán speakers, yet the staff were extremely accommodating and kind. Answered every question we had and provided us with the best service. Yes, the rooms are rather small (including a large sleeping area and small bathroom without refrigerator), but it is beyond worth the cost to stay here. If you want a good, safe, and worthwhile stay in a beautiful district of Barcelona, stay with Htop BCN!!!! Thanks to all the staff who were so kind to us during our stay :)

Walls are not soundproof. Been writing this reviews around 12:30 in the morning, our neighboor is sooooo noisy, we cant event sleep well. The location was good but it was not enough if you cant even rest a single night because of noise.

The rooms were clean and nice. The only problem was that the walls weren't soundproof so we could hear talking and doorslaming from our neighbours. Apart from that the hotel was really good. I would recomend.

Im very pleased with my stay. The rooms were clean and smelled of cleaning products when we came in. The cleaning lady made sure we had clean towels and soaps/shampoo every day. The location is great. Near sau pau hospital and sagrada familia. Also near metro station. The neighborhood was quiet at night (many places in barca are very noisy till 4 am). I would recommend it.

Terrible. Lied about not legally being allowed to turn the AC below 27 C (not true at all in hotel bedrooms, they probably just don't want to pay) and when I had to leave because I was literally fainting it was so hot, they refused to refund me for the nights I was not staying. 10/10 would not recommend.

If you want to book a two-star hotel, this is a good choice. Nice room with simple bathroom. Everything is there for a good overnight stay. Complete breakfast room and breakfast, but above all very friendly and helpful staff.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Terrible experience. DO NOT STAY HERE EVEN IF IT IS CHEAP. Room smelled like intense humidity and mould. Talked to the fornt desk said they would do something about it, and they did NOTHING. Recieved random loud knocks on my door at 4:30 am. Do not recommend staying here. Please go somewhere else. Very weird vibes. Views from the room are also terrible and windows do NOT open.

The best part of our stay was meeting Giardano. He was a real life saver! The first night after our long flight from US, he greeted us with a friendly smile and great restaurant recommendation. Next day, my husband left his phone in a taxi. We thought our vacation was ruined. Giardino spent days trying to locate the cab driver and he did it! Giardano went so far above and beyond. He made our stay at a simple budget hotel a 5 star experience!

60 euro per night in Sept 2021. Very noisy, I could start sleeping only at 3am. And at 8am it's again super noisy. The window is very close to neighbors' windows so we can see each other activities. Close to metro but I guess next time I would take hotel farther away from city center and use the great connection of Barcelona public transportation.

The wall is too thin, we can hear when people talk. Breakfast is the same everyday, nothing special. Location is ok.

Good hotel and very nice staff. Only negative point is bad isolation. Great hotel for a good and attractive price!

Not the high level style, but OK for 2 nights. The best had been the warm reaction at a medical problem of the personal themselves. Tuvm

A lot of disappointing things about this hotel. Would have been nice to have had some hot water, but unfortunately we were not lucky. Rooms are old, heater is making ridiculous noice and you can hear the neighbors constantly. And you also need to give a deposit for the hair dryer??! Apart from the location and the good cleaning service I cannot say anything else positive.

Smells funny. Broken shower door. Room too small. WiFi was not great. No phone in the room to call for anything. They don’t help you take luggage upstairs. Guy at reception was not very welcoming. Got charged for not even staying the last night even though we fought it. They’re firm on their policy because they know no one will like this place. Will never stay here again.

Very good and attentive personnel. Reservation was kept, paying only upon arrival. Clean rooms, linen, towels, good wifi, shower gels but no fridge. Breakfasts are good. A bit noisy : traffic at the street late at night and from neighbour walls. There were also some break downs: light switched off but instantly repaired, water leaking
