We did a tour with the audio guide. The design of the palace is elaborate and showcases extensive use of floral and other organic motifs. There is extensive usage of marble, mosaic, ceramic and glass work. The audio guide lasts about 40 minutes and takes you through all the main parts of the building including the facade, the entrance, vestibule, foyer, the staircase and the concert hall. Despite the usage of various materials and designs, the design doesn't look overwhelming. It is very artistically and aesthetically done and is a treat for the eyes. The content of the audio guide is crisp and clear. It explains everything in a precise manner, making sure, the first time visitor doesn't get overwhelmed with facts and jargons. The staff is also friendly and helpful. Overall a wonderful experience and a must-visit when in Barcelona.

This was one of the most beautiful places I've been to in my life. Everything is a delight. I went to the cafe first since I had missed the guided visits who happen until 3 pm only and decided to book a concert ticket to see it during the night. It was breath taking and I couldn't recommend it enough. Student prices are available from the ticket office. Do not miss this place! Mask wearing was enforced as well which helped keep everyone safe.

I wish I had been able to see a concert here! It's an amazing venue and I thought it was worth the cost of the visit. Be sure to bring your earphones so you can use the audio guide on your phone. There is also a cute cafe where you can get a quick bite inside too.

This is definitely one of the most beautiful places I've ever been in my life. The Palau is a great venue for live music. The architecture and decoration is simply astonishing, very colorful and classic atmosphere. The sound quality is excellent, and the seating is comfortable. The stage is visible from anywhere in the hall, and the staff is very helpful and accommodating. I attended a concert here and was blown away by the performance. I look forward to attending future events at this amazing venue.

A fabulous almost hidden treasure in one of the most beautiful areas of Barcelona. Definitely worth the visit. We also got a glimpse of the concert organ during rehearsals and it was fabulous. Exquisite architecture and fantastic design to use natural lighting through the stained glasses art. One of the most beautiful music halls I've seen (from all over the world). Historical masterpiece that is also a world heritage site.

Astonishing architecture and design. The ticket online is 5 euro more than in place (15). You can visit it everyday from10 to 15. Don't forget the awesome balcony and the third floor. It's really amazing with those beautiful colorful glasses...

This place was simply lovely! All the brilliant decoration of concert hall made me feel fresh through the world of music and dance! The tour guide was a very nice lady who would explain about every single part of this beautiful place in a very fluent English. Even though we arrived later than our tour was supposed to start, she kindly accepted us. I had one of the best memories here and I highly recommend it!

Such a beautiful place! The entrance fee allows you to visit the balcony for photographs. Once your tickets are scanned, you may download the virtual guide which organizes the tour into floors and sections. Camera flash not allowed.

it is a gorgeous and beautiful place. i went here for twice and every time i would be touched by the beauty of its decorations. it is not as popular as other famous buildings in Barcelona but it is definitely not less excellent as the others. A very special place and 100% recommended.

In awe of the interior and the details. It was a majestic feeling seeing the ceiling and the stage with all the designed pieces. We originally went to watch a concert at night and the next day, we even went back during the day just to see how gorgeous it is and luckily there were a few people during the afternoon since they close at 16:00. We went there at 15:00 😉

Gorgeous place! An immersion in a wonderful universe, that's how I perceived the visit here. We were lucky enough to see a short show for children during our visit and I would recommend coming for a show; the acoustics are great.

Absolutely worth a visit in Barcelona! It is beautiful inside and out from floor to ceiling. The entrance is 11 euros which is totally worth it and you can easily access an audio guide online - bring headphones - which tells you all about what you're seeing in each room. There are also in-person guided tours available. I believe they host shows too which I did not attend. Very pretty and impressive location!

The Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona is a true gem of modernist architecture and a testament to Catalonia's cultural richness. The intricate stained glass windows, intricate mosaics, and the mesmerizing concert hall make this venue an artistic wonder. The acoustics are exceptional, enhancing the overall musical experience during performances. The guided tours provide fascinating insights into the building's history and architecture. The only downside could be the crowds during peak tourist seasons, impacting the serene appreciation of the space. Nevertheless, a visit to the Palau de la Música Catalana is an unforgettable journey through music and architectural splendor.

It’s a concert hall that you have to visit at least once in your life. From the end trends to the actual concert hall everything is beautiful if you want they are guided tours during the day but if you have the chance to see a performance, it’s absolutely worth it. The acoustics over the place are incredible and it’s just a place that is very pleasant to the eyes in general. The details are everywhere in the concert hall, the ceiling is a work of art. Definitely worth going to a performance if you have time.

It's. Just. So. Beautiful. I've lived in Barcelona for nearly 5 years now, and I went inside for the first time BECAUSE I'M STINGY and didn't feel like paying the entrance fee (which I can now assure you is worth it). We went to see the Vivaldi Strings concert, and I just felt like I was in another era. My tip as a local - wait to go to a concert and take a tour yourself. The acoustics are all natural (at least the concert I went to), and this way you don't have to pay the steep entrance fee. It was the best birthday present I've had in a long time and I'm already planning on going to another concert soon.

(Translated by Google) ?Katalan Music Palace ?️Katalan Music Palace is the concert hall located in Barcelona's La Ribera district. This hall, which was accepted to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list in 1997, was built for the "Orfeo Catala Choir", which has an important place in the Catalan Renaissance Movement. Financed by architect Luis Domenechi Montaner between 1905-1908, the building was financed by the Catalan people and their wealthy families. Gothic and Art Nouveau elements catch the eye when looking at the building from the outside. On the front facade, there are mosaic-flower-patterned columns and busts of master composers of classical music such as Beethoven, Bach and Wagner. The building is crowned with a Moorish-style tower. Like the exterior, the interior of the Modernism style, the concert hall and the stage are in integrity.

My first time at this awesome concert hall listening to great Mexican tenor Javier Camarena and also Mexican and talented pianist Ángel Rodríguez. I got a good deal for my ticket, but it’s a shame there are some seats with no visibility and people have to stand to see the stage. The architecture is so delightful and the acoustics are pretty good from the second floor. It was quite cold though. Anti-COVID-19 measures make it a really safe place!!

Another masterpiece by Gaudi. Beautiful place to spend some time in and breath in the art. Being surrounded by the colors and shapes of it's interior brings to mind all the fantastic concerts, which must have taken place here, fuelling your imagination and extracting you from reality. This whole experience would be perfect, if not very poor information about the opening hours. You need to go there in the morning time, because they close the concert hall and the balcony, which is the staple of this building, about 3 or 3.30 pm. So if you travel half of Europe to take pictures there, you can be disappointed not being able to get in. And I wouldn't call the staff most helpful and kind either.

Excellent venue for concerts! The building itself is an architectual masterpiece. Impressive! Curious fact: every seat has a name plate on it. You can purchase it and the seat will have your name on it for a period of 5 years.

If you are a fan of architecture, music, mosaic art, or just beautiful old buildings this spot has it all. Visitors can purchase a ticket for a self guided tour or a guided tour to learn more about the history and design behind this building. Make sure you sit in the theater and listen to the organ, its amazing! Stroll through all the rooms and take in the stained glass windows, dome, and all of the detailed mosaic tile work! There is not time limit for being in the venue so take your time, have a seat on the different levels and really soak it all in. You can purchase tickets online or at the entrance to the building. There is also a cafe attached if you are in the mood for a coffee or meal. ✅ Social Media Worthy

It is a wonderful place. We arrived here by metro and it took us only a few minutes to get to the building. The architecture is beautiful from the outside as well as from the inside. You can buy tickets online or on place. In the entrance you can open an audioguide that will guide you throughout the place. You can also connect to wifi if needed. The whole tour took us approx. 1 hour and we even had a chance to listen to the huge organ!

If you have time and it matches the performance time, I highly recommend watching it. I heard that in addition to classical performances, you can also see flamenco and other performances. Unfortunately, we couldn't make a reservation because our schedules didn't match.

Although they added a glass area on the outside to make sure they can keep the inside at the right temperature this is a magnificently beautiful building with lots of intricate details. There is a bar that you can sit at and drink things, but to see the actual hall you need to order tickets. There usually is a Flamenco show that has some availability. We sadly were unable to get in. Note that if you look online it may seem like there are no shows, but it is best to check locally.

Highly recommended to visit, where you can visit all the floors of the Palace and where all its history and curiosities are explained in great detail. Nowadays, the audio guide is downloaded to the mobile phone and everyone wears their own headphones. It is also highly recommended to attend a concert to enjoy the great sound of the room.

The most beautiful auditorium in the world. When you enter to the main hall, all you are going to do is “WoW” . Super beautiful and you just like staying in the musical paradise with lots of musical gods !!

  • 2/5 Insam N. 2 years ago on Google
Very beautiful place. But no music when we were there on a sunday at noon. It really is not all that and not worth the 12 euros per person. It just took us 30min to see it all, the balcony and the assembly hall. Nothing else to see. Disappointed.

what a piece of architecture!! Truely worth visiting a non Gaudi building in Barcelona. It is so royal, you feel special. The guide was thorough and explained every detail. The initial video was also great. We were lucky to find a rehearsal on going during our tour, so enjoyed their soulful music echoing the auditorium. Worth a visit and can imagine it will be for sure worth watching any musical live here.

This a must to see, a jewel of architecture, but i am taking out one star, it is way too expensive for the visit, 10 euros to visit a concert hall! i strongly advise to buy in advance tickets for a show, you have 15 euros ticket, this way you will really enjoy the magic of the place as it should be experienced.

Amazing piece of architecture! I highly recommend taking the guided visit, it's very interesting and you get to see more details and understand better the context. If you are going to book a ticket to a concert instead of going for a visit, make sure it's in the main concert hall and not in the secondary one (it's called petit Palau or similar)

Absolutely stunning, a must see if you're in Barcelona. We came during the day for an audio tour which was worth it and taught you about features of the building. We loved it so much we came back the next day for a symphony concert which was another incredible experience!

Absolutely spectacular. We were lucky enough to listen to the organ here and take in this palatial environment. Truly inspiring and well worth the visit.

Absolutely magnificent structure, with breath-taking interior and exterior Modernista (Catalan for the Art Nouveau architectural and design style) decor, the work of the outstanding Catalan architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner (yes, Antoni Gaudi wasn't the only famous Barcelona architect of his time). The Palace of Catalan Music wasn't just a concert hall. Due to the repressions and prosecutions levied on Catalan culture and language (first by the Castilian Crown and then by fascist Franko regime), the place served as an unofficial meeting grounds, under various cultural disguises, for the fearless Catalans struggling to preserve their roots and their heritage. All tickets can be purchased online, with a better chance to do it ahead of time. The location is inside the Old City, a few steps away from Plaça Nova, walking up Via Laietana. During intermission, the ushers will give you a plastic card which allows you to come back inside.

This music venue is gorgeous and worth the visit, even though there is no lack of beautiful architecture to consider in Barcelona. There isn't a lot to see, but the spectacular concert hall is worth the price of admission. I'd recommend a guided tour and not the self-guided audio tour. We couldn't get it to work properly. Even after connecting to the provided wi-fi, the audio was choppy and it sometimes wouldn't run until after we'd left a room. (But if you do the self-guided audio tour, note that you'll use your phone and must provide your own earbuds or earphones.) After you tour the facility, head downstairs and enjoy a drink or snack in the lovely restaurant and courtyard.

Amazing place. A must visit. I really recommend the guided tour to get the most out of your visit. It is one hour. But you get great facts and can sit in reserved areas. Great tour

The show we watched was great, but I guess this is more of a review of the concert hall itself. The seats are fairly comfortable, staff is respectful and knows what they're doing, and the architecture is stunning. I can't think of any venue more fitting for a traditional flamenco performance.

  • 5/5 SuperGirl L. 5 months ago on Google
I have done the museum tour, seen 3 flamenco shows and attended the recent candlelight orchestra tribute to QUEEN at Palau de la Música Catalana. Every time was special and exciting in its own way. The venue itself for any type of concert/event provides unmatched ambience. The museum tour allows you to learn and feel its history. It’s truly a place not to miss.

One of the most stunning places I've seen, not just in Barcelona, but the world. This is a world UNESCO site for a reason and I only wish we had more time to see/hear an actual orchestra here. The organ was placing a few keys for rehearsal and the sound just reverberates and fills the space so nicely. It was overwhelmingly beautiful and not crowded at all.. not sure if people are unaware of this place or if we just came very early. I would not miss this if you're in Barcelona.

Came here for a guitar trio and flamingo dance extravaganza! The theater we were in was compact but the show was fabulous! One star off because the stage light was so bright it blinded me sitting in the first row. Had to pull the hoodie on to protect my eyes.

I recently visited Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona and did the guided tour- it was great! The visit was very informative and full of history. The building is beautiful and our guide was helpful and kind. Visited initially on a Sat but then purchased tickets for the next day as they were sold out, so plan ahead :)

  • 5/5 Nicholas P. 4 months ago on Google
It may be cheaper online to buy tickets but we just bought it at the door. Either way, it’ll cost you less than 20 euros to enter. It’s small but you can see a lot of details and a variation of colors. Not very crowded. This was the second place we went to after arriving in Barcelona. Plan to spend an hour or less depending on how fast you walk through it and take pictures

While visiting Barcelona on holiday, saw a concert then came back later for a tour. The architecture in this historic building is gorgeous and in pristine condition. I can attest that the acoustics are also very good. See it in the daylight to get the full effect of the stained glass windows and ceiling!

Must visit this place when you come to Barcelona. There is a small 3D model machine with basic illustration stands next to the entrance of the restaurant. Remember to bring your ticket/ e ticket copy to redeem the free audio guide by scanning the QR code on-site. The eye catching ceiling and 400+ ceramic roses capture our eyes and hearts. Another kind of masterpiece~

Very nice historic music venue. It must be really nice to watch a show here. We went on a guided tour of the place, which was well informative. It went by really quickly. If you are in town, it is well worth a visit.
