As
a
former
Cajun
restaurant
owner
4
stars
is
high
praise
indeed.
There
are
2
minor
reasons
that
I
deducted
a
star.
First
they
were
"out"
of
an
item,
which
coincidentally
was
the
item
I
came
there
to
try,
the
seafood
gumbo.
How
it
can
happen
that
they
are
out
of
the
item
thats
part
of
the
restaurant
name
is
a
big
oopsy.
Second,
I
feel
like
given
the
portion
size,
it's
slightly
overpriced.
I
left
still
hungry.
So
4
stars
instead
of
5.
That
having
been
said,
if
you
are
more
flavor
conscious
than
price,
check
them
out.
The
items
I
had
were
absolutely
delicious.
There
is
one
more
thing
I
think
they
do
wrong.
I
deducted
nothing
for
this
because
in
hindsight
I
believe
I
made
the
same
error
when
I
had
my
place.
I
did
not
trust
the
Tennessee
diner
to
enjoy
Cajun
food
in
its
authenticity
so
I
dumbed
down
the
heat.
I
do
not
feel
that
Voodo
has
dumbed
down
the
other
spices
because
it
is
very
flavorful!
However,
if
I
were
to
do
it
again,
given
the
rise
and
embracing
of
"Nashville
Hot
Chicken,"
which
this
former
New
Orleanean
would
say
is
damn
near
intolerable,
up
the
cayenne.
Nashville
has
proven
they
can
take
it
and
they
want
it.
All
in
all,
I
would
be
surprised
if
anyone
could
leave
Voodoo
feeling
they
had
a
bad
experience.
Highly
recommended.
