The Museo Nacional de Antropología is an absolute must-see when visiting Mexico City! This museum is massive and packed with history—so many incredible artifacts all under one roof. One of the highlights was seeing exclusive pieces from the Mayan ruins, including the iconic Mayan calendar. Every exhibit was thoughtfully curated and rich in detail. If you plan to visit, make sure to give yourself plenty of time—we got there right when it opened and had no wait, but it got much busier as the day went on. There’s also a restaurant/café on-site if you need a break, which is super convenient. Highly recommend adding this to your itinerary! #MuseoNacionalDeAntropología #CDMXCulture #MexicoCityMustSee #MayanArtifacts #TravelMexico #MuseumDay #HistoryLovers #CulturaMexicana #CDMXMuseums #AnthropologyMuseum #MayanHistory #TravelTipsMexico #ExploreCDMX

Fantastic museum, one of the best and largest collections in the world. It is so reasonably priced that it is worth breaking up a trip as trying to see everything on one go would be a marathon. The Aztec/Mexica Hall was the standout during my visit.

Finally making my way through my list of museums to visit in CDMX—and this one did not disappoint. I was VERY impressed by both the artwork and the architecture. Walking through the main entrance and into the outdoor area, you’re immediately met with a massive pillar cascading with water—easily my favorite feature, along with the second-floor view facing the entrance. The outdoor seating area was a great spot to take it all in as well. It took almost 30 minutes to get in (I went on a Sunday when admission is free), but it was well worth the wait. I’d recommend setting aside at least three hours to really absorb all the history—there’s a LOT to see!

We came here on a Friday afternoon and there was a 15 minute line to get in to buy tickets. The museum is very large. Give yourself multiple hours to complete. It starts with the history of humanity as a whole, then goes into the development of the Mexican communities across Mexico and how they were different. It continues with the Aztec and Mayan empires and massive relics from from those eras. I would definitely recommend as the museum is beautiful and informative.

Great museum, covering evolution of humankind and Meso-American cultures. Of highest interest are the Teotihuacan and Aztec rooms, but many other areas of Mexico are covered with many artifacts. Don’t miss the beautiful gardens outside each room which display a few artifacts in a more natural setting. There are many items to see, some of which have placards. I think it best to go with a guide for greater context. Also enjoy the modernistic central courtyard. We spent two hours, but only saw a third of the museum. Highly interesting!

Amazing cultural experience while visiting CDMX. I've been to many museums around the world, this one captivated my wife and I because this focuses on the history of Mexico specifically. Entrance was affordable and the experience was enlightening. Would recommend for any trip to Mexico City

One of the best museums I’ve ever visited. Book a tour guide, there’s so much to see and the help is worth it. Midday seemed to be less crowded than I would have expected. So good, I visited twice during my week’s stay in CDMX.

So beautiful. There was such a beautiful and unique culture that invested a huge portion of their resources into astronomy. Calendar was comprised of 18 months each 20 days long for a total of 360 days a year, when the Spanish had 300 days on their calendar. So much to see and read. Lines to get in do get a bit long but they moved fast. Highly recommended.

Frecuentemente hay exposiciones de las costumbres y lugares que habita la humanidad, permitiendo tener diversos puntos de vista ante situaciones que se presentan en la cotidianidad y como se van resolviendo, según las experiencias y expectativas de la comunidad.

Easily one of the best museums I have ever visited. Would only recommend adding English translation for everything. It's only available for limited items.

During the week we only waited 5-10 mins to get in. The museum is definitely a must as the Stone of the Sun is there and so many other important cultural pieces. I don’t recommend the restaurant and go somewhere before or after your visit. You will need at least 2 hours to see most of it at a quick pace. The gift shop here is also very reasonable and lots of local art to buy.

Great museum, just be ready to walk a lot. We were there all day and we only saw everything on the first floor. Only about half of explanations are in English unfortunately but Google translate helped me enough. If you're a history buff and you appreciate Mexican culture, it's a must. Guides cost too much and the free ones were busy. Honestly just walking around on your own is a great. They have an awesome restaurant on the premises that is worth the money to check out.

Extremely rich and dense museum. It is organized very well with numerous halls and even artifacts in outside spaces. This is a must see museum. The only thing it needs is more benches so you can sit and admire for as long as you want.

This is a top world class museum with incredible exhibits on all of the different indigenous cultures through Mexico. The exhibitions are well laid out with a lot of artefacts and replicas showing the culture, lifestyle and religion of the indigenous groups. It's a beautiful building with incredible murals and art as well to support. Very affordable entry and the gift shop has really great well priced gifts
