The rooms are OK but the majority has a shared bathroom which is shared with many and super small with the toilet in there too. Be careful with the prices they quote online as they will add 22% tourist tax!! It does represent itself as a budget hotel but in my experience the quality is definitely not higher than a hostel.

We arrived to Posada de San Carlos La Calzada After a long drive and very tired, When we checked in we understood that there is no option to pay with credit card (although it was written in the website after making the reservation that it is..) so we gathered all of the cash we had and were missing 5Q (!). The guy in the reception that was so rude to us and very very not pleasant to soon to be gusts in the hotel did not agree to check us in with out the rest of the money. The only option was to go get money from an ATM 20 min walk. Before going to get the money we asked to use the toilet after our long drive and he refused to let us use it because we are not guests of the hotel.. that was the last straw in our very short meeting in Posada de San Carlos La Calzada and we decided to not stay and left. I will not recommend this place to anyone.

Room with private bathroom was very affordable (less than 30 usd) per night at airbnb booked just an hour prior the stay! Guillermo at the front desk was not only really attentive, but also he is a professional tourist guide. He curated for me a one day trip to “Lago Atitlan” he game every detail not only about price range, but also how to ask to get more time efficiency results. I’m really thankful!!!

Posada de San Jeronimo was a perfect location, safe, and very ideal hostel. Their front desk is always staffed and they accepted me even as late as 1am, after my travels. I thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations, from hot showers to private feeling bunks (they have sheets you can close). My Spanish is so awful, so the patience and kindness of the front staff was really more than I could have asked for. Nothing was stolen from my room and it's in perfect walking distance of most the main Antigua sites. I highly recommend this stay. The road can be kinda loud from the window and it does get a little chilly at night. Still well worth the stay.

Wow. We loved this place. Guillermo is probably the best / most helpful receptionist / host I have ever met and I have visited 30 countries. He is so helpful. This place is a great location and great value for money. I recommend for Any1 staying in Antigua to stay here! Muchos Gracias Guillermo.

The place was very nice and quaint. Perfect for the budget traveler. Very friendly staff. Max the manager speaks very good English. He was super helpful in guiding, explaining tours and everything to do in Guatemala. I would definitely recommend this place to my guests.
