I hate to say it but we really did not enjoy this! The service was really really slow. The place is cold, a bit grubby and decor a bit sad. We had two burgers and while the actual seitan was fine although nothing to write home about, there was so much mayo that was so vinegary it was almost inedible, same with the coleslaw. Chips were fine. Not a great selection of drinks. It’s expensive for what it is and there’s lots of better places in Camden.

We had a Döner snack pack, the temple burger and some tots. The tots were quite nice, crunchy and fluffy. The burger was a bit disappointing. Texturewise it was ok, the chick'n was not crunchy but tender. But it lacked flavour and was a bit dry. The Döner snack pack had a lot of soft chick'n bits (little flavor) and crunchy chips, which were alright but not great. Altogether it was not bad, but the Seitan could definitely use more aromatics. The staff was really friendly!

Never again! I never gave 1 star on any place in London. I went there with my girlfriend a couple of weeks ago. It took ages to order cause you need to use an app even if you go directly there. The app is full of bugs and the UX is terrible. I work as Android Developer so I was not happy! Once the order was ready, saw we collected it and we realized that some stuff were missing like dip sauce and chips. I went inside and the waitress was nice to help with that. Back to the table we check the burgers and they were completely wrong. Basically they didn't have some ingredients so they just gave us different burger. In the app everything was still available. I tried to get a refund, using the website, because from the app is not possible, and I'm still waiting. The quality of the food was okay. Probably this place was good back in the days, but nowadays with all these new vegan places you realise that the food is very average.

It’s so sad how far down hill this places has gone, the ‘chicken’ is so wildly inconsistent in texture that it goes from gel like mush to something actually resembling basic Seitan and the ‘parm chicken’ just tasted of oil and burnt bread. Waited almost 25 minuets in a quiet shop for a few pieces of chicken and Mac. Staff were friendly but that’s really not enough. Don’t think I will be back any more as only last week I had a disappointing experience in the hackney branch, too. What ever is happening, please sort it out.

I hadn't been to London since 2016 and have been wanting to go here since then. It did not disappoint one bit. We had the lemon pepper chicken, popcorn chicken, and mac and cheese. The lemon pepper was the star and I can't wait to get them again when I'm back in a few weeks. Came towards closing (9:30) after a long walk and a pint at a nearby pub and the staff was still friendly and attentive. We made sure not to overstay - because who doesn't want to go home after a long day's work.

My partner and I travelled 60 miles to Temple of Seitan, particularly excited to try the tater tots and milkshakes now that Neat Burger has removed them from their menu. First disappointment was that there were no tater tots or milkshakes available even though they are widely advertised. Whilst disappointed that we had travelled all that way, we ordered a burger, wrap and some popcorn chicken with gravy to share. We have never eaten something so tasteless and insipid in our lives. Honestly, we are not fussy and love supporting vegan restaurants but the food here was just purely gross. There was no flavour to the popcorn chicken and the gravy was practically water. To make it worse, the ketchup bottles provided on SOME tables were empty. The whole restaurant was just dirty and unwelcoming - it was like a shack cafe. The staff were not friendly and the vibe was just not there. The final straw was that after our meal, my partner and I started to feel very unwell. The pain in my stomach was unbearable and ruined our night. Would never eat here again.

We ordered takeaway because there was no dine in. The service was quick and so was the presentation of the food but unfortunately the food really disappointed. The burgers, wings and sauces all disappointed. I think the quality of the food has a very long way to go to, it really is lacking in taste. The burgers were too salty and there was too much sauce. The wings and burgers just need more favour and taste, they taste tasteless at the core. I hope they develop their product.

My friend and I ordered their animal-style fries and fried chicken (all vegan) for take-away. I would say that the chicken was a 3/5 but the animal-style fries were a 5/5. I also really like how they offer vegan versions of all of your basic American fast food. Overall, a great experience.

Superb. Photo really does not do this justice at all. I had taken several pics of this glorious burger, fries, coleslaw and caramel milkshake only to discover my SD card had failed and all photos had been deleted deleted it. Luckily my partner had taken this one, but would have like to had shown the whole meal. Guess we will just have to go back. Genuinely one of the, if not the, best burger I have had. Have waited a long time to come here and it was SO worth the wait. Can't wait to go back and try more off this fabulous menu.

Hail Seitan! Beyond catchy marketing, a great interior aesthetic, and a menu as well-priced as it was varied. It was tasty, fresh, quick, and I'll be back!

Wow oh wow! Temple of Seitan has become one of my favorite vegan spots in London! Been there a few times now and just can’t get enough of it! I got to try their old seitan recipe in the form of popcorn chicken and chicken wings just before it changed and that that was amazing already. But their new recipe for their seitan is INCREDIBLE! It’s juicy and very much like real chicken. Definitely anyone who wants some junk food needs to go here! Their Mac n cheese is also very very good - super creamy and the sprinkle of bacon on top is a nice touch. Just wish that they would offer some vegan American biscuits like what KFC sells in the US. That would complete my nostalgia for KFC!

Wonderful food and exceptionally accomodating staff. Sadly the only thing that lets it down is no card payments so you absolutely have to bring cash or the app is a complicating and dysfunctional ordeal to get your food. Other positives are the super clean gender neutral toilets and chill vibe the place has as soon as you walk in. You can view and smell your food being cooked. Overall a top notch experience but they need to sort their app and get a card service sorted. As someone with autism it was kind of distressing. Thanks so much though xx

Loooved this restaurant so much that I almost regret going, how am I going to live without their delicious food once I go back home?? A tragedy. The mac n cheese was to die for, the wings a bit crispy and light, the burger perfectly balanced. Generous amounts of food for a very reasonable cost. Kind staff (they helped us out checking the ingredients of the full menu to accommodate a rare allergy), clean space, cute decor. Perfect!!

Hmmm... Usually I'm easy to please in regards to vegan food (I'm already happy there are so many restaurants catering to vegans now!) but I can't really give more than 3 stars. I had the vegan döner wrap, and (coming from Germany, the country where döner was invented, and having had countless döners (including vegan ones) throughout my lifetime) I can only say it was not at all what I expected. Considering the price, I found it to be a small portion, the seitan 'döner meat' was soggy and flavourless, there was neither enough salad nor sauce on it compared to what you would get in Germany.. Disappointing!😔 I'm giving three stars cause my friend who had the chicken was happy with his meal, and because the guy who took our order was very nice and we didn't have to wait for too long. Would probably not return though - or only to try something different.

The place is really cozy and the food is fantastic. Don't wait in line to order, sit at any available table, scan the QR code and place your order. By far the best veggie burger I've ever ate, different options of side dishes, good optional aditons to the burgers and very affordable combos (27 euros for the 2 people combo and it was a lot of food for 2 starving adults 😂). They even had the option not to add salt to the fried foods which was a fantastic idea. Everything is well seasoned. We ordered some spicy side dishes and the siriracha sauce, be advised that it's for real spicy.

This is a very good discovery ! I'm a seitan lover but cooked in a classic way. I've been impressed by the seitan taste differently prepared as a 'beef' or as a 'chicken'. Bun is amazing and the tots <3 I'm looking forward to get there !

Really disappointing experience! We order from here quite frequently but todays experience was awful. We ordered at 5.05pm on a Monday, the restaurant opens at 5pm. The delivery driver had to travel 6 minutes away by bike in 21 degree heat but yet our chips were stone cold and hard. The Mac and cheese was also freezing cold like they’d both been made and forgotten about and 1 of the burgers didn’t have the full toppings like detailed. The bbq wings were not wings at all. Just weird chunks/nuggets of seitan. I understand a restaurant may run out of items and delivery times are a bit crazy at the moment, but it should be stated when ordering so you can decide if you like the other option before spending over £30 to be disappointed! To top it off when I contacted Ubereats about this I was offered a 99p refund..... which is almost an insult!

Had a delivery and could not believe my eyes, 2 tiny bags (Maximal 15 chips in each) of chips that has so much oil it’s shocking and stone cold A wet burger dripping in oil also stone cold Hot wings dripping in oil also stone cold 2 strips covered in so much oil the box has gone soggy Then to top it off a flat can of cherryade and would you believe it the can was covered in oil 1 bite and I decided I would prefer to starve. Completely overpriced Total waste of £29.50

Really disappointing :( The ordering system is really confusing. I was completely ignored by staff and had to figure out I needed to download an app to order to a table number while sitting at a numberless table inside. The temple burger was not a good substitute for fried chicken and I lost my appetite for the unconvincing tempeh substitute and landed up throwing half of it away. The chips were plain but decent. Such a fun name and concept staffed by typical Camden kids but the execution is sorely lacking.

Great food but you better like everything on the menu if you order delivery because what they actually send you is always a bit of a gamble. If not you better have a backup plan, I've needed it twice in a row but "fool me twice shame on me" so I'll just not bother anymore. Better off getting it in person and checking before you leave the building if Boris every lets us do that again.

I was Temple's returning customer - not anymore I guess. My previous order and the order I just got were a complete disappointment. A while ago I waited for an hour and half just to get my order cancelled - no compensation whatsoever. Tonight I got... HALF of my order, after an hour of waiting I should mention, which is barely warm. Of course I got refunded for the missing items, but this is not the point - the person who was supposed to have dinner with me got no food? And obviously there is no way to reach you guys. Where is the customer service to fix mistakes like this? Won't be coming back, as this keeps on happening.

The temple was buzzing with activity with covid in full swing. Customers wearing masks waiting to be called for their orders. The food is divine, the best vegan junk food I've had the pleasure of tasting in my life and a must have if you're in London for any amount of time.

Disgusting all round. The manager Dan had a stinking attitude, was extremely patronising and threathen to not serve us because we said it was cold in the restaurant. Appalled to say the least. And the food wasn't great either.

Found this amazing place by chance while staying near Camden. The food was outstanding! The meal was reasonably priced (for London) but the taste was unbelievable. Plenty of food given and the brownie... Just wow! Great aesthetic, friendly staff , great background music taste too. Wish I lived local. Might go back tomorrow, who knows...

I went to the temple of seitan in Camden for the first time after having been to the one in Hackney few times. On arrival there’s no one in the restaurant to welcome you, you just order on a screen which is fine but the restaurant felt empty and sad. The food was good but very salty and dry… I feel temple of seitan restaurants need to made some changes to both the premises and menus to intrigue new customers and surprise the regulars so they can stay relevant. It felt very average eating there and I don’t know if I’d rush to be back.

Really tasty vegan alternatives for fried chicken. The fillet is really tasty as are the fries and the tots. Also really enjoyed the fudge cake. I would most definitely go back and I hope they open up more branches soon.

You need to look for Temple of Hackney when you pull up. The building says Temple of Hackney. The food was great. I will add that the Mac & cheese looks like it is going to be hittin but it failed. Lack of flavor. With the way it looks I needed my taste buds to have been beat down. They also should add more cheese. Garlic powder, more cheese, a dash of paprika & the Mac & cheese might have been rocking a whole lot better. I would definitely go back though. This place is mouth watering. I will also add that the fries could use a little bit more flavor. If you are going to be a restaurant like this, taking real chicken out, you have to come with bold flavor, nothing minimal. They need to ramp up the flavor for my taste buds.

This places is unreal! BEST VEGAN (junk) FOOD EVER! Yes it’s not something you would eat everyday but as a treat it’s insane. The “chicken” was so realistic! Crispy, crunchy, spicy and delicious. Really good quality, very fast service. The Camden location is actually really refreshing because it's a little out of the way and so not surrounded by so many people. Buffalo wings are the way to go. The real stars are the breading and dip that comes on/with the wings. Didn’t have a chance to try the shakes as the machine was down, but skip the dessert - Oreo cake was fine, but there are much better vegan options in Camden.

Truly wonderful delicious food served by some of the loveliest folks in the food biz. Must do for anyone hankerung after vegan fast food...truly to be savoured. Wish there were more branches! Try the deluxe Temple Burger. It is so worth the trip.

  • 4/5 Megan T. 3 years ago on Google
Great vegan fast food restaurant. There’s a bit of a misconception that being meat free is synonymous with being “healthy” - well, that’s just not true, and sometimes all you want is a stack of wings... minus the chicken. I wasn’t sure about the texture of the chicken wings I got, but my partner who had the Temple burger was very happy with his choice. Keen to start working my way through the menu.

This is the Buffalo Burger. Tastes better than it looks. I love seitan so I had to try this place. The food is tasty but I would say a bit pricey for what you get. This was £6.5. You need to have their app so that you can order, regardless of whether it is for eat in or takeaway. The restroom is not available to customers/the public. There is hand sanitizer. The waiting time for the order is not long and there is outside seating.

Came with friends recently and honestly it was AMAZING. I'm vegan but the two pals I was with aren't and both of them have said they want to return again! It's obviously not the same texture as normal fried chicken, but it's delicious all the same. I ordered basically half the menu and would recommend the "chicken" over the "beef" options as these are the Sietan versions. 10/10 definitely going again!

Had a Döner Wrap and a salted caramel cake. Both were delightful and the staff was friendly. You have to choose from a menu on the wall. I would have preferred to order from the table, because I couldn't decide, which meal to order at first ;) also pictures of the offered meals would have been nice (just as a help for tourists from other countries). Cash is btw not accepted.

The food came to the table barely lukewarm. And I'm being generous. The warm side of cold is actually a better description. This is one of the easier parts of a meal, especially in a fast food joint. The filet burger was copious but the patty was too thick and the bun fell apart.

What an interesting place. I passed it so many times and for some reason I never thought of coming in until my boyfriend told me that it is supposed to be a really good place. So we’ve had high expectations before we came in. They were extremely busy, but luckily we managed to get the last table. By the time we were eating they had massive queue already. The food was fantastic, especially the fries where really nice, we couldn’t work out what they did with them so we just ate it! Burgers were really nice as well, we were too full to try dessert, hopefully next time :))

Wow! Very impressed. I'm increasingly venturing into plant-based and vegan fare and boy did ToS deliver. I ordered the BBQ bacon cheeseburger with fries, which went down a total treat ;-)

Not a review but i have a question. Just to crarify everything on the menu is vegan right?

The app system is a bit new to me but their vegan burgers are among the best I have ever tried.

  • 4/5 Queen O. 3 years ago on Google
The food was lovely, however with the new ordering system it's a bit difficult to see what you are getting especially with the meal deal. But they fixed it up for me. The fries are phenomenal, I will be ordering again this Friday but with medium fries this time! I do gotta say though the last time I went, before this time, the service was appalling. There's a guy in there who looked at me like I was nobody instead of helping me out as I am the customer and the lady who was handing out the food did have a bit of an attitude but was helpful on the day I came back. I did hear about the bad service when they were down by the canal but for some reason I always had good service there, but I've had the joy of receiving the attitude. For good food yes, if you're looking for great service than it's a 50/50.

I liked my burger and had to laugh when my friend said he wasn't sure if it was actually bacon on his burger.

Just had this delivered. Really great meat alternative and very tasty. I'm really stuffed we ordered the 12 piece share bucket and the pieces were massive. The mac n cheese is awesome and almost as good as my Mum's.

This is one of the best places to get vegan fast food in London. All of the burgers are great, the doner kebab is pretty good and the fries and chicken is of a very high standard. For vegan hamburgers, ToS set the gold standard

amazing burgers, doner and mac and cheese they fill it to the top for you and give u as much as they can the price is totally worth it and they are very nice

Very disappointed. We ordered for a two-person dinner on Friday evening via Uber Eats and they forgot one of the two burgers. In addition, one of the two fries were only half full. The large coleslaw was also half empty and the rest was cold. Since it arrived at 9:30pm, the restaurant was already closed, so we couldn't call them and request the missing items. Completely ruined our evening as it was too late to order anything else after waiting for an hour. They should really make sure to include all the items that people pay for. Used to order here all the time before without any problems, but won't return most likely after this experience.

Just ordered through Uber eats. Me and my other half been looking forward to trying this place for ages. Ordered 2 burger combo meal and only got one, how disappointing. This place doesn’t have a contact number either just a form to email them on the website and to top it off, when we raised this with Uber, Uber refunds us £2!! We spent nearly £30 on food from here and waited an hour ! No customer service, AVOID

Ordered off ubereats it does not CLEARLY state all the food is vegan so when i order "Buffalo wings" i expect a freking bone to suck on!!! should have paid monopoly money for the fake chicken

  • 1/5 Neil W. 3 years ago on Google
We ordered via Uber eats and, when the food arrived, we struggled to eat it as everything was outrageously over salted. The mains, the sides, all of it. Either someone had pranked the chef or they need to be a lot less liberal with the salt shaker, as we ended up having to throw quite a lot of the food away....which, as anyone who knows me will tell you, is extremely serious 😂

Cancelling orders... we were waiting over 1 hour and they cancelled our order

WARNING - ITS VEGAN NO MEAT!! This was not clear when I ordered via uber eats, and nothing on the websites burger page indicates this is veggie patty pretending to be meat.

  • 5/5 Iron S. 3 years ago on Google
Food is amazing, staff very helpful but just make sure you check your order as they are very busy so sometimes forget an item or so.

So disappointed with the chicken wings and the chicken wrap. I couldn't finish either. The reviews and the 50% Uber voucher is the reason I tried it and sadly won't be back.

I ordered from Uber eats for me and my partner, ordered the “buffalo wings” my partner ordered the “barbecue chicken burger” but wasn’t made clear they were vegan. Not to be rude, but when I bit into it, I nearly vomited, same with my partner. The menu needs to be made clearer because it’s VERY misleading. Money that literally went into the trash!

  • 1/5 Con K. 3 years ago on Google
Rubbery, cold and greasy. The animal fries were pretty atrocious too - sickly sweet barbeque sauce overpowers it. Overpriced tat (£25). Buy two beyond burgers from Tesco !

The most disappointing and disgusting place ever. Had to wait 45mins for the burger and it was freezing cold. They have a truly psychotic and deranged manager dan who couldn't understand a simple joke. Totally shocked that he told us to leave the restaurant because we told him to hurry up the order.

Food was amazing and friendly staff. As a meat eater I still enjoy Temple of Seitan and always opt for the wrap - the chips are especially good! I wish there was a clearer sign at the door or notice on the tables about the new website ordering system when eating in though - it wasn’t very clear and I had to find a member of staff to ask

  • 5/5 Pia A. 2 years ago on Google
Temple of Seitan is always great. my absolute fave is the mac n cheese.. i never liked regular mac n cheese but this is like heaven in a paper bowl.. seriously.. do yourself a favour and have a go!

  • 5/5 JM1 2 years ago on Google
Great food! Pretty quick to come out, 7 or 8 mins in total. It's not completely clear how to order, as there's a till at the front - but its unmanned. The sign telling you to order online is hidden behind the front door - so this could perhaps be laid out a little better!

  • 5/5 Joseph L. 2 years ago on Google
Been here several times with vegan friends & family as a non-vegan and I've thoroughly enjoyed it every time! The seasoning on the 'chicken' means I couldn't care if it's seitan or not - it's super tasty. The portions are generous & it's not too expensive considering its location. The brand new restaurant in Central Camden is certainly an upgrade on the site near Kings Cross too!

  • 5/5 Sam B. 2 years ago on Google
Fantastic food and reasonable prices. My meat eating friend came too and loved his burger. Definitely going to go back multiple times! Highly recommend!

I've been your costumer for a long time and love your food. I recommend the place to everyone. But I was very disappointed with my latest order (via uber eats). First, one item was missing and secondly the patty in the burger was not big enough for it to cover the bun. Please don't let the quality decline!

  • 4/5 Svilen P. 2 years ago on Google
I'm not into the image of being an unhealthy vegan food brand and marketing yourself as that. The taste is decent but if you can achieve the same if not much better standard of food while giving out a healthier product I don't see why you would want to be a repeating customer.

  • 5/5 Michelle S. 2 years ago on Google
Temple of seitan is a must visit for us when we visit London. We ordered a vanilla shake, strawberry shake, french fries, temple burger with fake bacon and cheese, and seitan BBQ strips with really lovely BBQ sauce. The two of us managed to eat everything but it was a struggle to find room. It was so delicious we couldn't stop 😂 I miss the canal location but aside from that little detail it is consistently our favourite vegan junk food place in London. We live in the west midlands. We hope one day their will be a location closer.

Used to come here all the time before lockdown. Now the quality of food has changed drastically. The flavour isn’t as good, I know it’s fast food but it actually used to taste like it was worth the money. Staff are really incredible in the Camden branch, can’t fault them.

  • 5/5 Joshua T. 1 year ago on Google
Some of THE BEST vegan fried chicken I’ve ever had! Delicious fries and tots too 🤤 loved the no sugar added drinks and even the merch was cool!

I love this place and visit most times that I come to London. The staff are friendly, the food is delicous and it is good value for London. I took my partner who is non-vegan and he also loved it. The future of fast food!

  • 5/5 John A. 1 year ago on Google
Amazing food and great service. Honestly the best vegan "chicken" I've ever had - second to none. A little tricky to find but was probably just because it was a busy weekend in Camden and difficult to navigate. Superb food - must try, if you're vegan or not!

I heard a lot about this place so I've comes to try. a fully fast food style vegan restaurant that offers burgers, shakes, and desserts. I took their grilled chicken that came with BBQ sauce, coleslaw and pickles, unfortunately that burger didn't live to the expectation, the flavors were way too strong, the chicken mostly tastes of oil and the only part I liked about it was the pickles. I also took the Oreo Brookie that tasted really good like a chocolate brownie.

  • 4/5 Sulekha P. 1 year ago on Google
Really amazing buffalo wings! The best vegan wings I have ever had. I would say the burgers and wings could use some more sauce as they have been a bit dry. The Mac and cheese is also quite nice.

  • 2/5 Jugs B. 1 year ago on Google
Order of 2 x wings came as 2 x tenders. Low quality meat and standard workers with no experience in making proper food, just add a ready made sauce to low quality fried meat. Even the simple chips were half cooked. 40 min wait too.

  • 2/5 Brintha R. 1 year ago on Google
Got an Uber eats delivery from here after having fond memories from previously eating from the flagship hackney restaurant when it first opened. Unfortunately the takeaway didn’t quite meet expectations. The seitan chicken was very spongy in texture with little flavour and the chips weren’t seasoned at all. Although the bacon on the Mac and cheese gave it some flavour, this too was very underwhelming. I don’t think I’ll be ordering a takeaway from here again, maybe the experience is best when dining in.

Temple of Seitan is our most favourite place to eat out! Finally place where you can order anything on the menu and you know that no animal has been abused and no unnecessary land destruction was caused. We enjoy every meal on their menu and our personal favourite might be Nashville burger, salt & peper and the milkshake is incredible! The staff is very hard working and incredibly kind, we Love them all!

The food was amazing and the menu is fully vegan 😋 I had a burger with facon, lettuce and pickles. It was delicious! I also had a medium fries on the side. It was a lot of very delicious chips! However, there was a bit too much BBQ sauce on the burger. The canned drinks are very good. I had the rhubarb one and it was very unique in a good way. Amazing restaurant. Would definitely recommend it.
