Such a gorgeous bookstore & cafe. It was a lovely place to walk around and explore, a good selection of English books, plus multiple floors of bookshelves, even a hanging pendulum to make sand art. A beautiful place, tranquil, and inspiring!

Large book store and cafe in the heart of Polanco. It’s got a great selection of books including any section in English. It’s a bright space spread over two levels with its own out outdoor seating area. You can buy books or read your own while drinking a coffee and eating some food. The quality is good.

We had breakfast here, I loved my omelette, coffee and chocolate cake. Good service and cozy place. I take out one star because it took longer time than average for our order to be ready

Hands down one of the best cafe spot for book readers and the curious. Every city should have a cafelibrerie. Somehow it blends a bookstore, cafe and restaurant into a truly unique spot. Cafelibrerie does all three categories well.

The ambiance is great, don't sit near the stairs, every time someone's climb up is like an earthquake. No wonder no one posts about food, the food is very mediocre, and the coffee is awful. This place is good for one time relaxing around books, get a juice, listen to some musics, and leave. Don't take any food, you will regret it

Interesting Place. We only had coffee but the place has a full food menu. There are definitely many books to keep and choose from. Parking outside its sort of a monopoly very expensive and you have to leave your keys behind. It was an experience.

Food was good and menu del dia very affordable. Interior is cute (in a library) but the staff is just horrible and that destroys the whole ambiance and experience. Totally self centered and just not made to cater or any kind of hospitality. And there are so so many of them, hanging around plopping plastic bubbles (terrible sound) or looking on their phones.

What a wonderful place and surprise. I went there all the days I was in CDMX. The food is great, Arrachera, the tacos were delicious. The margaritas outstanding! Strong as I like them! I Loved this place! And the books a Mega Plus!

The service is slow. The omelette del pendúlo is tasteless and not fresh, fries were oily. They also charged me double the menu price (could be by mistake)

(Translated by Google) Without a doubt, one of my favorite places in CDMX. They have several stores, but the one in Polanco is the most beautiful, although they all follow the same aesthetic. If you go to Mexico City, you have to go to one for breakfast and see it. (Original) Sin duda, uno de mis lugares preferidos de CDMX. Already an icon in Mexico City, Pendulo offers a unique combination of a bookstore and cafeteria experience. Service is excellent, menu broad and location in the heart of Polanquito. We enjoyed sweet breakfasts (served until 2 pm!) and fresh juices. Coffee is more on the weak American side, though.

The service was horrible. Where do you go and you have to ask for a fork and napkin. Guacamole with chips overpriced and not enough chips. More chips so I can eat the guacamole would be nice. The decor is beautiful and the paino bar upstairs was awesome! If you are a book lover it’s a must visit.

Very good food. A beautiful place. The Cafe is well integrated into a bookstore. Plenty of seating. You can even swing the pendulum to create a sand painting. A place well worth going to.

Normally I like this place but since a few months, it is always crowded and the employees are very rude. The meals are very bad, I had a hair in my coffee. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant anymore. Very disappointing.

Great place to come by with your laptop and get some work done while enjoying good beverages. The pastries were so so but the tea and the mango flappe was really good. The ambience is inviting and there are siting areas on both floors where you can enjoy a good book or catch up with your email.

We try to stop here every time we are in Polanco to have some breakfast and to buy some books. The breakfast was okay, I wish the portions were a little bit bigger. Definitely it is a popular place on weekends so sometimes you need to wait for a table. Book selection is good, but I don't understand why every book needs to be wrapped in platic. The collection of souvenirs and small items are good, and good ambient with a nice life performance to make your morning a good start.

  • 3/5 Isabelle B. 2 years ago on Google
The place looks good and having a library and a coffee/restaurant in the same place is a great concept. But I've eaten twice there - - Portobello burger and Rubens diario (roast beef sandwich) - - and both were disgusting. I'm not eating there anymore, don't want to test the rest of the menu.

Fantastic library, inviting to spend time there and drink a coffee while browsing through some books. The pendulum in the center is fun - definitely don't miss out and try a few swings.

Good place for books and good meals. There is an English book section as well.

  • 4/5 Luca B. 11 months ago on Google
Beautiful cafe and massive bookstore with an amazing selection of genres. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of five is due to the admittedly petite English selection compared to the rest of the catalogue (this is Mexico after all, but given how large the bookstore is, having only one table of English books is a little disappointing). The cafe has a nice size menu, with attractive seating on the patio, inside, on the second floor, and in the street. Overall, it’s an amazing place, and I would recommend it to those who enjoy coffee or books. They’ve got plenty of both. ps: The sand pendulum was probably my favourite part. It’s fascinating to see all the patterns it can create from just one push.

  • 5/5 Trey L. 9 months ago on Google
After doing some research, we saw how popular this place is, so we went on a Monday morning - it wasn’t very busy and we got a seat right away. The food is a little pricer than other places in CDMX but it was well worth it. Our breakfasts came with fruit and coffee, both were great.

  • 5/5 Andrea C. 1 year ago on Google
Amazing spot to check out whether it’s for a coffee in the morning, a beer in the afternoon or to work all day. The staff is v friendly and the ambiance is incredible! Highly recommend checking this place out when in Mexico City.

  • 2/5 Julian C. 10 months ago on Google
Very cool concept: books and coffee, poor service execution and I'm understating how bad it was... I had to call via phone to the waiters as there were none to serve us (called the restaurant!), and even so: NO SERVICE WAS PROVIDED. All and all, can't rate the food, the place looked nice, it was full which I believe it was a hint on how good it could be, though the service ruins it all.

  • 4/5 Daniel G. 10 months ago on Google
85 pesos for one coffee seems extremely expensive to me, and what I wanted as a relaxed sit down on a sunny morning was ruined by groups of singers and musicians making awful noise. The service was good. The Wi-Fi had a great connection. The place has a good vibe.

  • 5/5 Sarah C. 1 year ago on Google

There are at least 3 around the city and they all offer stunning seating & cafe spaces to cozy up in while you bask in the CDMX sunlight. This particular location has a lovely patio, and the food was alright but nothing special. They sell English books too!

The green sauce is very good, I recommend it more than the red one, the guava jam is very good, the bacon order is fair, the juices are very good. (Translated by Google) As a cafeteria it is fine, it is usually full of people using it as a home office, it is not expensive and it has good service. The bookstore is great, especially when you already know what book you want, always very attentive to look for it or order it for you, although if you want to get to recommend something to read, they are not so good in my opinion.

😐 This place is huge, and there's always a waiting line to get in, the menu is small and straighforward, but it's totally worth eating there... I would just say there are too many tables per room, and sometimes the waiters are less than attentive becsuse of the amount of customers... still worth it.
