Great museum with free entrance. It is an architecturally attractive space and the minimal interior design and exhibit spacing make each piece pop. I was particularly fond of the Dieter Roth installation, Reykjavik Slides, which was a love story to the city. There was an almost eerie ambiance given by the slide projectors changing cards, sometimes alone, at times in sync with several others.

This free museum is a delight to the senses. There were four floors of exhibitions you start at the top and work ur way down, spiraling through a different artist on each floor. I feel in love with a new artist there and loved exploring work across the decades and across medium La as well. This is a must visit especially to take photos with the big sculpture out front . They have a really cute gift shop as well

One of the best museums in the city! Houses some of the most intriguing artists and pieces. It's situated right across Museo Soumaya but make sure you try and go on a weekday because weekend wait lines can go as long as an hour.

With four levels of contemporary art exhibition, you are bound to be fascinated by something. Be it the calming effect of photos, displays that call for environmental prudence, or the adrenaline rush of chasing a tornado and actually catching it! Certainly worth a visit for memories that will stay with you for a long time. All art descriptions were in both Spanish and English.

Very beautiful scenery for pictures and wow moments. The personnel here are very friendly and make an effort to help in English even when it's difficult for them. Lots of people sit out here to chill and just do whatever they want. There are some police presences to make you feel safer

Museo Jumex was great! My wife, toddler and I enjoyed the art pieces in each of the 3 floors. It's relatively small, yet full of abstract art that really does make you pause and admire. Staff there is friendly yet strict as they should be (seeing as this is a museum) there was a large tourist party of about 12+ people and it seems they were rushing through each floor and getting in the way at times, but other than that we loved it! Plus admission was also free.

Incredible museum in the middle of the city. Free admission- which we have found that most of the museums in the city are. They have rotating exhibits (as most museums do) and it did not disappoint. The building itself is well organized and an easy flow to walk thru to see the exhibits. The attendants are nice and polite and they have a nice gift shop and are to grab coffee etc at the beginning/end of the visit.

(Translated by Google) Discount for being a student Excellent! Just a detail, some exhibitions are not completely accommodated or closed, and remember to wear a sweater because the art must be to a certain degree to maintain itself. (Original) Descuento por ser estudiante ¡Excelente! Sólo un detalle, algunas exhibiciones no están del todo acomodadas o cerradas, y recuerden llevar un suéter porque el arte debe estar a cierto grado para mantenerse.

(Translated by Google) What a museum beauty. Definitely the highlight are its stairs and the execution of the work, every detail was taken care of, the cutting of the floors, the walls, the lighting. I am so proud that a work of this quality was executed here in Mexico?? ❤️ (Original) Que belleza de Museo. Definitivamente lo más destacado son sus escaleras y la ejecución de la obra, cada detalle fue cuidado, el despiece de los pisos, los muros, la iluminación. This museum is a hit or miss, depending on the expedition. When I visited the showing artist did not allow photos, which I found strange in the age of social media and its ability to launch artists and exhibits. Jumex should reject such requests from artists, turns out the exhibit wasn't that great, which made the no photo policy more confusing.

The exhibition i saw was really average and the price little high for what was. My sugestion: research for the expositions they're be have, so you'll know if is gonna worth it or not. The service is nice and the installations are pretty but inefficient.

There are a few exhibitions in this museum (free entry). To go up the elevators, you enter between the gift shop and the cafe. Several photography exhibitions are on display, and I liked the room with a video about tornadoes. Make sure to go on the balcony to get a nice view of Museo Soumaya and the square.

Went to see the Swiss artist, Urs Fischer’s exhibit. There were a few pieces that were amazing and not to be missed. Don’t forget the exhibit on the ground floor. Very Instagram worthy. The museum had a nice but pricey cafe. Also you can see a great view of the Museo Soumaya.

Never a dull moment at the museum. Entry is free and there are regular rotations of the exhibitions. The staff are also super helpful and there are lockers downstairs to store your stuff (be sure to have some coins though). There is also a restaurant on site and one of the floors offers stunning views of the Soumaya Museum and glass-clad edifices in panorama.

2nd and 3rd floor were nice! Modern art and everything you expect. Current exhibition on the 1st floor was a huge waste of time (1.5hrs waiting in line for a 5min exhibition of a 3D non-moving projection of faint squares). Pictures are of 2nd and 3rd floor. No photos or videos allowed in the 1st floor exhibition.

Admission is free, if you are interested in conceptual art pieces it's alright. There are 3 floors of exhibits, but it's still quite small and spaced out. Not much on the 1st floor, seems like wasted potential. At least you have a good view of the museum next door.

Amazing! Absolutely do this with the guide because there is so much more to the art (of all visual forms) than the signage could ever describe. My guide (I think Michelle??) did a fantastic job explaining the pieces as well as reasoning behind the structuring of exhibits, and even a bit about the building itself. If you like art, this is a great site. Also was not crowded on a weekday morning and free for students and teachers. Cafe Eno inside is pricier but good quality pastries and food

The museum is pretty, but the current exhibition I went to wasn't all that great. I enjoyed a lot of it and wouldn't discourage anyone from going, but it wasn't the greatest thing in the world. It had a nice taste of more modern pieces in contrast to the museum across the street that had all old art. The car out front was really cool too.

A fantastic art museum in the heart of Mexico City! We stopped in just to check it out and ended up spending a couple hours walking around, exploring the exhibits and really just taking in the architecture and many views to be had by walking around the second floor exterior.

I loved this museum. So much fun modern art in different mediums to keep you engaged, not just oil paintings on a wall. It’s free to enter, just 5 pesos for a locker for your bag. The only thing I didn’t like about the museum was the size. I finished looking at all the galleries in just over an hour and it left me wanting more! Be sure to stop at El Turix, a short walk away, for some excellent tacos when you visit.

  • 5/5 jean p. 4 years ago on Google
Beautiful place and quite well organized. One thing to note is that they have a part with explicit (sexual) content at the third floor and even though they warn you about it there is nothing to cover the little one’s wandering eyes from seeing the five pieces that aren't really appropriate for them. Besides that? One of the best galleries I have seen!

  • 5/5 Taj M. 1 year ago on Google
We absolutely loved the latest exhibit here. The museum is the perfect size to be able to visit within an hour or two, or for lingering a bit longer if you’d like. It’s great to combine with a quicker visit to the somaya, the aquarium or shopping at antara.

  • 5/5 Oliver F. 1 year ago on Google
Depending on the show it's a great space. Not sure I like the neighborhood but that's not the museums fault.

  • 5/5 Jason P. 1 year ago on Google
It's a small museum compares to the one next door. There's significantly less people here. Admission is also free and there is a coffee shop at the front door which is a great place to rest after exploring the museum. The focus here is more of modern arts. If you're interested in Mexican and South American modern arts here is a great place to explore! Surprisingly I saw lots of artworks from Colombia and Venezuela.

The Museum of Modern Art is a must-see when visiting Mexico City. Various exhibitions are held every season, and although it varies depending on the exhibition, many are free. It is a three-story space and has many very interesting exhibitions.

  • 3/5 Melanie S. 11 months ago on Google
Review for April 2023 exhibits. The overall experience was just meh with only 2 of the 3 galleries even open- but at least it is free and you don’t have to pay and there is no pre purchase ticket required. Go early because the lines get long on the weekend and this is not worth standing in a long line for. The 3rd floor exhibit of Jannis Kounellis was fantastic. The absolute highlight. The 2nd floor exhibit is the history of Cartier design. This floor was completely packed and wall to wall people. It was difficult to get up close to the displays and the lights were low so without being up close you could not read the explanation of each display. It was also just difficult to walk through the space since it was so crowded. The 1st floor gallery was empty with nothing on display at the moment. The first floor mezzanine just seemed like a place for influencers and photos with the Soumaya Museum building in the background.

  • 5/5 Alisa N. 9 months ago on Google
Well prepared contemporary art exhibitions. Also they have a really nice shop and caffe, and a view to Soumaya. Check it out!

  • 5/5 Kitty 3 months ago on Google • 61 reviews New
Great museum and free admission. There are four floors, accessable via stairs and lift. A coin of 5 pesos is required for the lockers, which is returned after use. This is on the basement level with a small room that currently contains 2 paintings and sketches. There is a gift shop and cafe on the ground floor and an old fashion telephone featuring dial a poem. Then the first floor and the top floor contain the main exhibits. There is also a terrace/balcony with a couple of pieces of art and a nice view of the soumaya museum. The building is architecturally a very cool design, and there is a Lego model of the building in the entrance to the gift shop. Outside, there is a waterfall structure and places to sit. I would visit again to see other temporary exhibits.
