The staff were very friendly and I was really looking forward to visiting this Museo Casa. Unfortunately the two main buildings of interest are currently closed for refurbishment for another few months. The part that is still open will only take a few minutes to see. It would be helpful if information about this partial closure were available online (I couldn't find it at least).

Das Museum befindet sich zur Zeit in Renovierung. Eventuell wird es im März oder April 2024 wieder eröffnet. Momentan ist nur sehr wenig zu sehen. Es lohnt sich nicht 45 Pesos dafür auszugeben.

I really enjoyed my experience - despite there being restorations happening which prevents you from exploring the entire property, I appreciated being able to visit Diego’s studio and also being offered a brief explanation of the history of the building offered by a volunteer working on site - she was very kind, thorough, and did an excellent job explaining the history entirely in English.

Very disappointing! Pretty much the whole explanations inside the house are in Spanish, so unfortunately if you do mot speak the language you miss everything. Then, you can only visit Diego's house, while I was really thinking you could get into Frida's blue house as well...It took 45 min to get there via Taxi from Roma, and the visit lasted ca. 10 min..

If you're interested in Rivera and Frieda Kahlo, this is worth a visit. Corbusian inspired architecture, a double height studio filled with curiosities and plenty of photos from the 30s. Oh and it's free! 30 pesos for a photo permit

A compound with the connected houses of Diego and Frida, built by the great Juan O'Gorman. Included in the price is the house built by O'Gorman for his father. Modernist and functional architecture. Also, a wonderful collection of folk art and pre-Columbian objects in Riveras studio.

This is a disappointment! Everything was in Spanish only (which I can read but problematic, the audio didn’t seem to work for everybody), they announced at the museum that masks were mandatory (only place in Mexico where this was required in 12 days) so we had to buy a mask for 10 pesos on the spot. The ONLY thing open was the Diego Riviera section, and somebody follows you the whole time, with a disruptive radio discussion going on the whole time… So much for quietly imagining the artist at work. And the Frida Kahlo house has been closed for like what, 3 years now? Not mentioned on the front page of their website. At least they could adapt the price a bit… 40 pesos, 30 min, overrated. Interesting to see how badly designed the house was considering Friday Kahlo had mobility issues, clearly she was not taken in account…

This was a dream come through. Always wanted to see Casa Azul and Panzon's Museum since I saw the Frida movie. Beautiful place. Love the simplicity in which they lived, had a great and unique gift for painting.

Entry is cheap, but the exhibit focuses almost entirely on Diego when Frida deserves much more attention.

(Translated by Google) The house, a discreet but very welcoming estate, welcomes visitors like someone visiting a friend, without haste and with freedom, since it welcomes the visitor without time, without clock, without haste. It is so cozy how interesting. The hundreds of details speak of the life of the spouses and their original relationship. My favorite place, where it was difficult to start, the patio or the patios. Intoxicating. Awesome first example of functionality architecture. Also very interesting story of this family and architect. I have a lot of pleasure to be there in sunset, soft light, quiet place. Diego’s part of house look like nothing has change from time when he lives there, but Fridas part of house somehow almost empty. Cost 30 pesos but in Sunday’s it’s for free

(Translated by Google) A short but substantial tour, it is worth entering the world of these enormous artists. The people who guard the place are very friendly. They take care of the visitor due to the Covid issue, and with great comfort I was able to visit the houses of Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo and the neighbor and designer of both houses. Don't miss out on knowing the cultural richness of this huge city (Original) Un recorrido corto pero sustancial, vale la pena introducirse en el mundo de estos enormes artistas. Just marvelous place, history and artifacts. Frida and Diego, two of the most important personalities of Mexican culture. This house is a testament of their relationship displayed as architecture, the separation of the two buildings by a bridge depicting their constant disconnect yet always connected. Truly an amazing experience. There is a lot of tourists, so visit early in the morning or on a weekday.

If you saw the movie “Frida” this is a must stop on your visit to Mexico City because actual scenes were filmed here and it will give you a better understanding of how Frida and Diego lived. But that’s not the only reason to visit this museum. It’s architecture and surroundings will immerse you in the life of the very famous Diego Rivera. The architecture of the place speaks for itself. It evokes the modernists of the time incorporating the artist’s request of a house formed of two bodies. The scale of the spaces and stairs are off considering the size of Diego being his workspace the only one that seems coherent to his stature. The fully openable windows In The context of San Angel (Neighbourhood where it’s located) allows you to imagine life at the time Diego and Frida inhabited it. Check for temporary visits before going! Some areas of the house might be closed if there is no exhibit.

Very interesting building. It has spiral steps between floors. Also it has original furniture and a lot of pieces of art made by Diego Rivera. And it has some pieces from his pre-hispanic collection of statures. It also has pictures of Frida Kahlo.Everything there is original and very well kept.

Beautiful buildings. No art by Kahlo and this is mostly a tribute to Rivera. There are rotating exhibitions (currently about sound and music during the years the couple was active) that can add context and richness, but probably after you spent some time in the different museums of CDMX. The architecture is delightful and crossing between buildings on the bridge is fun. Highly recommended if you're in San Angél area, but probably not worth a trip just for this. The neighborhood around it is quiet and beautiful and walking around it is a wonderful antidote to the busy streets of the city

So lame. We went around 4pm and we weren't able to see the rooftop since the security guard was at "lunch". The studios were being remodeled so they were all mostly empty. Maybe it's better when all spaces are actually open and available.

This museum is the former home and art studio of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo built in 1932. Both buildings are connected by a tiny bridge at roof level. Diego's is larger than Frida's, at the distance it resembles their physical look, like the couple standing together. It has minimalistic decoration and furniture except for the main area of Diego's studio that has tons of mexican art crafts, pottery and art tools. Back of the main buildings there's another one built for the wife of the architect that created this wonderful venue, Juan O'Gorman. For taking pictures a MX $35 Permit needs to be bought. It is not a crowded place so it can be enjoyed calmly, the cactus fence gives the facade a unique look. The architecture is delightful. There is not original art of either of both artists except for a Dolores del Rio, famous film mexican actress, oil painting made by Diego. There is no parking lot, souvenir store or coffee shop. Entrance is free on Sundays.

The last stop on our Frida/Diego day... The separate homes and studios of Diego and Frida in San Ángel. You may remember from the movie, these were the houses joined by a small bridge connecting them at the top. Unfortunately, Frida's side was cleared for another exhibit, but Diego's studio and home was rich with his painting supplies and works finished and unfinished. We even spotted a photo of an item that we had previously seen in Diego's museum 20 minutes prior.

The buildings and studio are nice but be prepared for the army of security guards standing over you in every room. Often they were in the way of photos. Only takes about 20 minutes to go through and was 35 pesos to get in plus 30 for a photo pass.

I enjoyed looking at all the exhibits available for Diego. Very interesting. His bedroom was very simply decorated. The studios of both Frida and Diego we're very large and separated. The Frida exhibit was unavailable, but guests were still able to access the structure where some photography was viewable. They offer a brochure which has copies of archived photography of the property. You must pay extra (30 pesos) for capturing photographs. It's worth the small price, especially Diego's work. 4 stars since the entire exhibit wasn't available. But, they do earn you before you pay the admission.

One of our best experiences in Mexico city. The pictures will speak for themselves, but this house is beautiful. Carlos was an impeccable tour guide. My wife and I wanted to find him on IG so that we could reach out and tell him how much we loved our trip because of him. Make sure to pay for the Tour Guide experience. They will walk you through the story of Functionalism and be able to expand the ideas of the house into so much Mexican history. It really was a great experience

Major renovations to Frida & Diego’s houses. You can only see a couple of rooms of the studio. Still glad I saw this iconic spot, but would be better to go when it’s fully open.

3 stars because we had to pay for masks (10 pesos) right when we got there, pesos (cash) only for tickets (40 pesos), and Fridas blue house/studio wasn’t open-only Diego’s. Diego’s studio was amazing and we saw a bit of art and his personal things on the top floor. Not much to see but very cool to be in their space!

I went there last week but except for the architecture and one room with furniture and a few paintings there isn’t much to see inside the house, which makes me wonder why this place gets such amazing reviews. Did I miss something??? In my opinion it was certainly less interesting than what I expected because there’s just not much to see in the house itself, most rooms are empty or almost empty.

(Translated by Google) My visit to the museum was on a Sunday, there were not many people and it was free entry, the only thing they charge is if you want to take pictures inside the museum. To access they ask you to scan the QR Code, then they take your temperature, give you gel and disinfect your clothes. The museum facilities are fascinating, obviously. The only thing that I did not like is that three or four security people are behind you all the time, the truth is that I did not enjoy my visit to the museum, I know they have to do their job and watch, but that they are behind about steps and every move I make, I didn't like it.

Things to know: You have to wait about 30 mins outdoors to enter. This is a little inconvenient, but it ensures that not too many people are there at a time. Unfortunately NOT a good place if you are in a wheelchair. It's all stairs. Be aware that if you don't know Spanish, the visit may be a little less engaging for you, as all the signs were in Spanish (except the Do Not Touch signs). You can take photos for free There is an onsite ticket office. Don't buy tickets in advance; you will still wait in line with everyone else. Admission is 40 pesos So cool to be able to see Frida and Diego's studios. It's a super unique layout with lots of natural lighting

Beautiful exhibit illustrating the foundations of what we know today as Frida. Thoughtful detail was put into the displays including her medical equipment, dresses, painting materials and analysis into how her experiences shaped her work. You will be asked to pay an extra $30 pesos to take photos (video not allowed), which honestly could be included in the ticket price because it’s definitely worth it and ~ $1.50 USD. They stagger letting people in by ticket times (q15min) which allowed us to freely explore and not feel crowded. Helpful arrows on the floor to provide you with directions to see everything. We spent a little over an hour there but easily could have lingered in the courtyard/garden longer if we had time. We also discovered when we got there that our tickets were for the wrong day but the staff graciously allowed us to come for the allotted ticket time. This was huge as they were fully sold out for the rest of the week. Hitting mid afternoon meant we were there during golden hour and I recommend timing it this way if possible! The garden was glowing and you will certainly find inspiration here.

This is the famous studio with the bridge connecting Kahlo's studio to Rivera's. A must for architecture fans. Admission required: CASH only. This is the place where Frida and Diego had lived. This is also definitely what my dream home would look like: two free souls working and living together but also independently. The views from the patios are particularly good! And the place is not crowded either. Definitely recommended. I wish I could go back to this place again. But I’d better keep this as a once in a lifetime piece of memory.
