I was very surprised to see that this convent has mummies that are very well preserved despite not going through a curing process, although there isn't alot of information about them other than being burried at the church and then dug up by soldiers looking for treasures but finding only bodies. The rest of the museum is equally impressive. Beautiful paintings and rooms where servant lived have now been converted to display areas. The garden although not fancy by any means is very well kept.

The church next door was extremely large in size, but nothing prepared me for the ex-convent itself - the beautiful chapels, the monk's cells, the charter rooms, the garden, etc. And mummies! I spent double the time I allocated to the visit and it's still far short of what I would have liked to spend.

Wonderful museum in San Angel. The museum is huge and really cheap. There is a wide collection of religious art by mexican artists of colonial times. The crypt is a jewel with amazing frescoes and also well preserved mummies. Attach to the museum is a beautiful church with some astonishing domes.

This museum has mummies in the basement area, and I've come to visit them several times, but the whole area was closed due to COVID restrictions in place and the basement had no ventilation whatsoever. I was disappointed I could not visit the mummies, I missed them. If they would just add in ventilation to the basement and allow people in, I would give it five stars.

Nice and well maintained place. The exposition about life in a XVII century monastery is overwhelming. In this place is also displayed a small but well preserved number of mummies that date from that time. The place is a must when visiting Mexico city.

Beautiful museum located in an old monastery. The permanent exhibition showcases religious art, but there are other expositions as well.

A really peculiar and interesting mix of religious site and art gallery. It has it all, starting with living rooms of nuns of the past, which are converted into gallery with pictures, till authentic things for making services, altars, both indoor and outdoor, even a giant wooden bench made from the whole tree. Of course the crypts with mummified bodies, though not very ancient, dating back to the end of XIX and beginning of XX century. I am not posting the photos here, since the content might be inappropriate. Last, but not the least, beautiful park with some cats. Don’t think, just go and enjoy it. Active catholic church is a neighbouring building, vicinities are lovely and have plenty fancy restaurants, though might be a little bit pricy. Entry fee is MXN75, which is around 4 dollars. They are accepting credit cards. The only caveat on my opinion, is closing time: it’s 5 pm.

(Translated by Google) A great museum to admire sacred art. Many pictures you can enjoy and there are mummies! They let you take photos (without flash, of course). Everything is very beautiful, go, they will like it very much. On Sundays there is free admission: 3 (as in almost every museum hehe) (Original) Un gran museo para admirar arte sacro. (Translated by Google) The museum is an unmissable place to visit. The building is an architectural jewel that evokes peace. In the middle of a chaotic city. Your church is beautiful too. The temporary exhibitions they ride are excellently cured. There are currently three, one on the Xolointzcuintles, another on the Scavengers, and one on Plateria. Excellent. (Original) El museo es un lugar imperdible a visitar. El edificio es una joya arquitectónica que evoca paz. En medio de una ciudad caótica. Su iglesia es preciosa también. (Translated by Google) If you like historical buildings and sacred art, you will really enjoy it; That is the permanent exhibition, along with that of the mummies and they also have temporary exhibitions. Obviously you can listen to mass in the temple, visit its gardens and savor the classic gorditas of corn that they sell at the entrance of the temple. (Original) Si te gustan los edificios históricos y el arte sacro, lo disfrutarás mucho; esa es la exposición permanente, junto con la de las momias y también tienen exposiciones temporales. (Translated by Google) The El Carmen museum is very well maintained, they have different paintings by various painters, which is something that was rescued, due to the looting of gold works that they had. A musical program was held in the auditorium to highlight the works of Mexican women during the 18th and 19th centuries. There was also until today a temporary exhibition of works made from cardboard. I congratulate INAH for the preservation of this site. (Original) El museo de El Carmen se encuentra muy bien cuidado, tienen diferentes pinturas de diversos pintores que es algo que se rescato, debido al saqueo que hubo de obras de oro que tuvieron.
