After watching several YouTube videos giving great reviews about this place, we decided to include it in our "go-to list" of vegan places during our recent trip to CDMX. We visited it this past weekend and we DO NOT recommend this place. It was the worst experience we had eating in CDMX during our 8-day trip. Why? Because we got sick from food poisoning after eating at this place. We are still in our recovery process and it has been tough. The first impression we had of the area and surroundings (not that clean and horrid smells) gave us a hint of the possibility of getting sick but we thought it came from the nearby food stalls and not from Gatorta. After ordering, we waited half an hour for our food. While standing several feet from the stall, we watched as the cook poured cups and cups of oil into the fake meat while sautéing it. We thought it was a special order; that maybe someone wanted their food extra oily. But no. Each order was being made this way. We already had ordered so we decided to try it because we were very hungry. We went only halfway through our food. The flavor was ok but the food was excessively greasy. At night, we noticed we started having very unusal symptoms (we've gotten food poisoning only once and it was in another country we visited years ago). Painful stomach aches/cramps, diarrhea, chills, headaches, hazy feeling, and severe indigestion. It has been almost 5 days since we ate at this place and we are still feeling sick. After having this experience, we decided to read reviews of Gatorta on different platforms. They all present more than 10 accounts of different people getting food poisoning from eating at Gatorta. And so we wished we had read this before... To the potential customers: Please consider it MANY times before eating at this place if you want to continue your trip feeling healthy. To the owner: Step up to your business. Reconsider your methods. Be on point with your cleanliness. Ensure food quality and take care of your clients. You are currently not going in the right direction.

Unpretentiously delicious. The vegan tacos there are incredibly flavorful and honestly better than many of the meat ones I’ve tried in the city. Had the pastor and the chorizo (both delicious, latter felt smoky) There isn’t even a spot to sit, you eat standing on the counter which adds to the magic of this place.

The tacos were great!! And the people were friendly. Amazing to have a vegan option that feels like all the other taco trucks. No stools or chairs so you have to stand but that’s par for the course. I never thought I’d say this but I wouldn’t recommend the torta with all the vegan meats on it just because they are far too generous with the portions! There was so much meat it was spilling out. And not enough lettuce/avocado to balance it out. And as a vegetarian for a decade, the combination of meats was, for me, almost a bit too realistic & it really felt like eating animal meat & kind of grossed me out by the end. That said, my meat-eating partner didn’t have that problem & enjoyed it. So just a word of caution to any longtime vegetarian/vegans out there: don’t order the torta with everything on it or maybe if you do ask for less. But I’d definitely go back for the tacos! Gigantic portions, great vegan meat alternatives! I'd love there to be some more veggies or something to put on (I loved the pastor tacos with pineapple, cause it gives a fresher fruity taste). One of the most authentic vegan places in the city though.

Got two tacos and the tiramisu. I really liked the vegan meats, great texture and flavour, especially the red one pictured. The tacos in my opinion needed some more freshness to cut through the flavour of all the vegan meat. Like some tomatoes or something. But to be fair there were a bunch of sauces I didn't get the chance to try so maybe those would have helped. Overall I really liked the food and would love to try more things from the menu, especially the sandwiches that look amazing!

I was so excited to go here and Gatorta did not disappoint. It’s rare to get to enjoy authentic vegan street food, and we loved it.

But this place is legit. You’ll finally be able to eat at one of those street side stalls like the locals do.

This place has the best desserts. Their brownies, cheesecakes, donuts, tiramisu etc. are all very delicious. Their tacos are too really good but their dessert game is strong. It's not costly at all and they got fast service. Can eat there on a Saturday without having to wait half an hour in the line to order. Strongly recommended.

Service was a bit slow (I came at lunch rush) but it was TOTALLY worth every minute of waiting. The tacos were amazing, best I’ve ever had. Also got tiramisu for dessert and that was delicious as well. Very reasonable prices.

I went on a vegan food tour of D.F and this location was the last stop on the tour. It's a food cart just down the road from on the the major Metro and Bus stops. There was a line of people waiting but our guild assured us that it would be worth it and let me tell you it definitely was. Months later and I'm back home still dreaming about the amazing Torta de Milanesa that I had there. It was one of the best vegan meals I had on my trip down there. They are 100% vegan but there were many people there who were vegans as well as meat eaters who said they loved having a delicious healthy option. Will definitely be stopping by on future trips

Went there in 2019, best vegan food ever. It’s a food cart, so don’t expect to be able to sit while eating.

The food was absolutely delicious! Very generous portions and 100% satisfying. Great prices too!

Today I had a super delicious tiramisu and I’m very tempted to return to get more of it. Love this place. By the way the sandwiches are huge and great too.

Really nice vegan food from this tiny street kiosk. There’s not really a place to sit so we had to take our food and look for a bench. I’ve had better vegan Mexican street food here in the city, but I’m spoiled now from the huge diversity and options. Would recommend a try.

My favorite vegetarian place in the whole city. I ate there twice and got takeout another time in 1 week trip. The biztec and al pastor gringas are amazing! Biztec is only served on Tuesday and Wednesday. Also the toppings bar includes potatoes, salsas, pickled onions and carrots and napoles too 😸

Cute kiosk with very friendly staff. Plenty of options for veggies and vegans. Not much place around to sit though. Would go back again.

Amazingly meaty tortas and really affordable. As others have said, these are cooked with a LOT of oil, but if you're after healthy eating, why are you even here? We also bought the chocolate sponge fingers, which were amazing; just like Cadburys Mini Rolls.

One of my favorite vegan taco spots in CDMX. The servings are very generous and packed with flavor. Great salsas and other typical toppings available for your spicy cravings. The staff is always super nice and friendly, too. There's usually a wait, but it's always worth it!

Out of this world good! Vegan tortas that will trick non-vegans. I got the milanesa torta and it was delicious, perfectly textured, crunchy, flavorful, and spicy if you add the sauces. Note that there’s a bit of a wait at this place, for us it was 10-15 minutes.

The torta was ok. It is very greesy and tastes lot like onions. The dessert was amazing. Yhey don’y speak English so make sure to research at home.

It’s vegan, it’s not restaurants, it’s tacos cart with vegan tacos and quesadillas. They also includes soup and drink in one meal. The foods are oily but it’s tasty for vegan foods. It’s cheap, they also accept payment with card.

SO good just wish they had guacamole. But the tacos are out of this world - my meat eating boyfriend even liked them. Get the pastor it’s by far the best.

An absolute feast. If you're looking to stuff yourself full of vegan protein, get the torta cubana. I'm a big eater and I struggled to get through it. Thank you for providing a great alternative to other street food in Mexico City, I'll be back!

Great spot! The women were super nice as I ordered the best I could in Spanish (still working on learning the language). The tacos were a lot bigger than I expected for the price! My husband and I ordered 3 each and I barely finished one and a half! He also struggled and he typically eats all of his food. Delicious vegan tacos! Definitely stop by!😊

It's vegan street food, so one might not expect too much, right? However, in an ideal situation, I'd prefer the food to be less oily and the staff to be more hygienic. That said, it's conveniently and centrally located. The staff are pleasant, and overall, the food tastes good for what it is.

Excellent affordable delicious vegan food. Great range of fake meat and options. All of them taste amazing !! Lovely desserts too.
