This "airport" is an absolute dumpster! Chaotic or complete lack of signage, zero organization, bad directions, horrible sewage smell, personnel not speaking ANY English (even personnel dealing directly with international passengers!), extremely filthy bathrooms (I really wonder what those dudes who stay in there and pretend to be cleaning the whole day are for?), arrogant employees. I am shocked because this is the gate to the world and people have to deal with this when they fly into Mexico. My experience here unfortunately influenced my future decisions about visiting (or rather not visiting) this country.

Poorly managed airport, multiple waits with ridiculous and useless pseudo checkpoint. Disorganized staff. No water fountain to fill reusable water bottles. Almost no electrical connections to recharge devices. Intermittent free WiFi. Allow at least 3 hours for flight connections depending on the origin. The airport itself has the potential to be efficient, but it currently faces significant operational challenges. Not recommended as a connecting airport.

Terminal 2 at this airport is totally unorganized, all the local and international flights mixed. This city must improve and re organized the gates by sections. The migration office to stamp your passport out is on an actual booth on the main hallway you don’t even notice unless you ask to any of the airport staff, what a lack of formality in one of the most important airports in Latin America. Plus the airline (Aeromexico) check in process is a chaos. Be prepared to go earlier than the regular 3 hours just to be safe in time. CDMX could be do much better with this airport.

The worst! First, we get dropped off somewhere; get picked up on a bus, to be dropped at a destination. To go back on another bus and drive right by the aircraft we just left. What a waste of time! Has to go up many stairs. I guess no escalators? THEN, we have these workers at door 52 that are utilizing the charging stations… been here for about 1.5 hours.

The airport design is not friendly for traveller, be ready to take long walk if your gate no 1 or 38. The security check start on 19. If you have difficulty to walk, do arrangement wit a wheel chair. If you planning to take train then walk to door no. 1 in T1, not convenience n u can take taxi or uber to down town for 300mxn.

Landed around 11:50pm at the airport. They had 2 people at immigration station serving over 300+ people traveling internationally. I’ve never seen anything like this, very disappointed. I had to wait 2 hours to get my luggage, and I was one of the first to get off my flight. Shame on you, be better!

Avoid this airport at all costs. Extremely mismanaged, we queued for 2.5h just for check in! Then we were called last minute to check in and run through security. Which is awfully signposted by the way. It's a very long distance to each gate especially gates 1-10. There was no real assistance for people in wheelchairs etc and the airline didn't help ensure we all reached the gate, they just held the bus at the gate waiting until the last hopefuls arrived. Who knows how many people didn't make it for our flight! Half the bags also didn't come out at the other end. Awful. Use AIFA instead

A very chaotic and outdated airport with many destinations to all over the continent and a few to Europe. The waiting areas are crowded and the food options are few and with long lines. If you have acces to VIP lounges it is more bearable. The worst, however, are the regular delays once inside the planes waiting for clearance to take off. In addition, their chaos generates as well take off delays for planes coming in from all over the country. Phone coverage is also very poor. If you are arriving there are good prepaid taxi services to the city. My advice? If your destination is 5 to 6 hours drive away skip the plane and take your car or hire one.

What an interesting airport! A very large airport in one of the biggest cities of the world. They get by, but you can see a larger, newer airport is in order. Not enough gates for the sheer number of flights in and out; so for many of them you take a bus and go up the stairs instead of a gateway. Not a huge problem but different. Lots of places to eat inside and many different stores and even a Harley-Davidson Store!

It's a bit small and disorganized for my taste. On the positive side I must say the shops and restaurants are open pretty much any time of the day and night, so if you want to have breakfast at 2 in the morning, is absolutely possible.

Much much better than when I first visited via air in 2008. The COVID pandemic has also had a positive impact with regards to cleaner facilities and better hygiene. It is still Mexico, and "the lights went out," i.e., the computer systems went down while checking in. Arrived at my gate just in time to board. May 17th, long lines, but handled well. Got my aerobic workout in, military style, "rucksack" and all. (Electric carts can also get you there quick). 💪😉😂

It’s a big and so busy but they’re dealing very well and kind. When you have a transit flight be ready for immigration and don’t loose it. Without the paper you can’t fly. Also you’ll take your luggage and you’ll give it maybe 20 meters later but after control check. But it’s very easy. After that if you have a long waiting you can visit even the city or enjoy the outside because you go and come back you’ll not see any more passport control or immigration officers only security checks. So you don’t need to wait inside. They’ve many options outside. It’s so busy but very comfortable and kind staff.

It’s Alright It’s a pretty huge airport, terminal 1 & 2 is shuttle apart. I don’t get that comfy feeling that I always feel when I’m in an airport to be honest; It’s just okay for me. They have a few good food options, rest rooms and so forth. The staffs speak basic English which was great and they were also helpful. It’s really just an alright airport to me.

I have been here a total of 8 plus times and the remodeling is looking nice 👍🏽 I love it ! I have came here with and without kids and I always feel safe. I recently came a few days ago and had a lay over and I was able to take a nap on the bench and was totally fine no one told me anything! The food is always amazing ! I went to this store called Ay Guey ! Super cool clothes I got myself this nice jacket and face mask and reusable bag for $100 dollars . Went to have breakfast and had drinks and food was delicious - I was able to charge my phone and that’s always a plus. Got myself a sandwich and a drink for the flight and that too was good ! I have stayed at a hotel outside the airport for $30 dollars or less and it’s so worth it ! Especially for a long layover would look into it ! Love it and can’t wait to see when they are all done with the remodeling!

Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juarez is one of the biggest airports in the world. Approximately 22 million people pass through the terminal per year and travel to hundreds of countries as well as four continents. To the extent possible, visit their website to get a complex map. On arrival, customs officers are professional and accessible; however, many of them have very little understanding of English. If you have a connecting flight, be ready to race to your gate. At the end of your COVID-19 diagnostic using a barcode, you can re-enter the terminal with a valid boarding pass. Additionally, if you are on a shorter flight, you can be directed to a lower-level bus shuttle to the aircraft on the ramp. This is a hub for many Latin airlines, including Aeromexico (it's rumored that Delta Airlines will end their partnership soon). It's literally a frenetic rate of activity so try to mentally prepare for the worst-case scenario.

The Mexico City Airport is one of the largest I've been to! It's divided into two terminals (Terminal 1 - Terminal 2). Because it is going through several renovations, it is a bit chaotic and confusing for travelers. If you end up in Terminal 2, like I did, it's basically a nightmare to get to Terminal 1! You take a bus that goes through the landing area where you get "shower" with fumes from the airplanes taking off and landing! The internet works great in certain areas, but overall, it's a poor connection. When I was ready to throw the towel, this picture reminded me of why I'm here in the first place. It lifted me and gave me hope that one day, these renovations would be completed.

There is such a feeling while traveling and you know Mexico city's airport is in your itinerary. Very well connected to important cities with wonderful destinations both city or beach, small towns or very well known spots. There is no craziness in this aiport, very easy to transfer yourself from one point to another

This airport is big, two very large terminals.. but i have always had extremely friendly service and during the time if the pandemic i have appreciated all the extra work the people her have put in. I have never had any problems here, i was able to easily get through everything to enter Mexico and exit Mexico when I spoke NO Spanish, in case anyone worries about that. As with any airport, think ahead, be watchful, use common sense... And your time at this airport will be fine. There are also many sculptures and even and art exhibit that can be enjoyed, as well as so many different kinds of businesses! Or at least there is an art exhibit on non-pandemic times! One year it was all about the monarch butterfly and this antechamber was filed with small paper monarchs, art celebrating them, and much information about this impressive frequent flyer, the Monarch Butterfly. my only warning would be don't stay in the hotels attached to the airport nor extremely close, the prices are so high, if you use an app, use that for discounts... But the price difference even in five miles is HUGE.

I TRULY loved the challenge of speaking very little Spanish. And making my way through the Mexico City Airport. If you have a connecting flight. And you don't have Internet. Hopefully you downloaded your Boarding Pass. Because you won't be able to pull it up. But if you booked through Delta Airlines. Just go upstairs to Delta and give them your Boarding Pass from your Departure Location. And they can pull your connecting Boarding Pass.. You Veteran International Travelers may all ready know this. But it was my first time😂🤔

My experience? It was once in a lifetime. The worst ever. I had never been so mad because of an assistance. I arrived 3 hours and a half earlier my flight to wait in a very long line. Nobody speaks English and my wife was pregnant. I will never come back to this city and if you have to, be careful and extremely patient.

We had a connection flight and it went smoothly and fast. As soon as we got off our plane we made it past the border control in like, 10 mins! There was literally no line! Then we waited at our gate for 2 hrs 😒, but that's besides the point!

Nice airport. Very big. For those who are travellers: I definitely suggest exchange your euros/dollars at the airport because outside rates are much worse. At our time we exhanged 1euro to 20.60 pesos but outside it was 18.50 19 or 19.50. There are some small shops that you can buy Telcell for a month 200pesos with 2.5GB or 3GB. Small shops mostly accepts only cash.

Clean, plenty of food options, decent bathrooms. Arrival tips: Customs and immigration is easier than just a year ago because of automation. Take Uber or one of the official taxis (you prepay and get a ticket). Don’t go with a pirate who calls you “amigo.” Departure tips: It can be crowded and some will like the handful of VIP lounges. I’ve used The Lounge Mexico at Gate 31.

Love some of the bakeries to have breakfast at the airport. Organization has improved and there are screens all around the corridors to know about your flight status. You don’t have to take your shoes off in security which I love !

Very busy airport. Many shops and restaurants, so you won't get bored. I would recommend to be there with extra time. Between T1 and T2 has a quite distance too. Also, It looks like immigration and customs clearance form are paperless now and no long need to fill out the form, but be ready to show your return air flight tickets. You will be asked to show your return ticket by the immigration officer when you enter Mexico.

Although I was only here for 12 hours, I made every hour count. Rented a car, drove a bit, saw the Frida museum, but it is closed due to the virus, and the general public is very friendly. Everyone was trying to help me out. I know that it was partly due to money and services, but still, no pressure and friendly, at the airport, hotel, car rental, it was all a great experience. Also, I didn't get kidnapped.

Very nice and compact. Everything is located conveniently in the departure terminal (at least, in terminal 3) - food, souvenirs, duty free store, and a lot of other interesting shops. I enjoyed the couple of times being there. To be fair, the arrival area is not as much fun, especially the long lines at immigration, and during COVID-19, that’s not acceptable. Other than that, I look forward to returning there again.

The customer service was good which is better than expected with the amount of work they likely have to deal with especially under the current Covid circumstances. Everyone was knowledgeable and decently kind. I was pulled for a surprise search and I was treated kindly and with respect. The gift shops had a lot to offer. We moved through the airport quickly for the amount of people there were. A couple of people had their grump faces and tones on but I can tell that they've been working hard. They are doing a big job of keeping us safe in the air and helping keep theirs and the surrounding countries safe. I'm thankful for the policies and the efforts from the staff.

I give this airport a four. The only reason for not giving it a five, is because of the lack of air conditioning and promptness of boarding. Other than that, the workers are gentle and that includes TSA. The staff is friendly and patient with a sense of humor.

Terminal 2, which is newer is better than T1. But T2 is mostly for Aeromexico. Once inside there are shops and restaurants and a few VIP rooms. A few renovations here and there, but for the most part easy to use airport. Also know that there is a shuttle that can take you between T1 and T2. Getting to the airport in general is tedious, with long traffic.

The shops at the airport are luckily open even at very early hours and the airport is generally clean and easy to traverse... the restaurant options are quite limited to typical things like Starbucks however, so don't expect a lot of variety to keep you busy here.

Big, busy, poorly signposted... This place is a mess, no two ways about it. It's one of the busiest airports in the world, yet it doesn't have proper transit infrastructure to get from one terminal to the other. Instead of there being a skytrain of some sort, travelers are reliant on a slow set of buses that traverse the edge of the field. Transfer bus stops are also poorly marked, making it tough for first-time transit travelers to get around. But for all this mess, the airport boasts a large selection of services and amenities, which are pretty much available 24/7. Not the worst airport I've ever been through, but far from the best...

A very clean airport with exceptionally helpful staff. Multilingual staff meant it was easy to communicate when we had an issue with our flight being delayed. To check in luggage was very, very slow. It took about 10m for each bag, which is a lot longer than most other airports I have been to. Conversely, security is very fast! Every time I have not had to wait longer than 5 minutes to pass through from start to finish. Very professional. There are plenty of restaurants and shops, you can buy food/drink, souvenirs, duty free alcohol/cosmetics, electronics and exchange money. There are plenty of places to charge your phone, both plug and USB ports all over the airport which are free to use. They have carts for those less able to walk the distance to the gates also.

Is a very well transport supplied airport with lots of money exchange businesses, and several well know gourmet places with medium to high prices. Also provides car rental options as well as safe taxi services. Boarding gates are far apart from each other but if you mind walking long distances they have golf karts to take you to your assigned gate for departure. Covid measures are visible and enforced everywhere inside the main buildings, so you can feel safe from getting it. Besides all that the floors are very clean and polished (as expected in an international airport)

  • 4/5 Emanuel S. 3 years ago on Google
The staff makes do greatly for such a busy airport! The best part of the airport is their staff. The international terminal is nicer that the domestic, there are some good food options in the restaurant, if you have time to kill, try to go to one of the full service restaurants so that you can have a decent meal and work or read at a more comfortable space that lingering at the gates.

Absolutely horrific! After flying for nearly 40 years, I have never been so horribly treated in my life, they lack in every way possible customer care, mis information, disinformation, lack of document control, there check in experience in English is a nightmare! We are now over 4k trying to board a flight, they don't care ! The inconsideration towards there passengers is something know one should endure ! There a nightmare

Great airport, new experience at arrival cause we used stairs to the ground to cached the bus to take us inside the building to the other terminal.

Lots of walking but overall smooth and easy. People are waiting to greet you at every corner and give you instructions.

Massive airport to navigate especially if you switch terminals. Hundreds of options for duty free and lounges. Pay attention to changing gates and leave plenty of time. Very good with helping travelers and overstuffed to help out.

Nice but lacks adequate signage from dropoff to check-in

Easy to navigate to airlines. Good signage to help navigate your way around. The floors can use some maintainance, cracked tiles makes it hard to roll luggage around. Overall both terminals 1 and 2 are easy to navigate.

This airport is massive. The have tons of stores, they have restaurants, clean restrooms, sleeping pods, baggage holding center, taxi services, Covid testing and a bus terminal. This is not the only thing they have, I am just naming som of the things in it. This place is very clean and well protected. The only thing we did encounter was these men that claim to be Elite Drivers that take you to your place but then charge you $80 for a 10 minute drive, the did not manage to get $80 but we did pay them $50(DOLLARS). So please keep an eye out for these people and don't go with anyone without asking!

Busy, busy top rated international Airport. Moved quickly through screenings. Check boards routinely, arrive 3 hours for international flights, (that's me) restaurants of all kind, last minute gifts, alcohol everywhere. Lots of staff all around to answer questions. Bilingual but speak loud and be patient. Masks make talking hard. Men's room perfectly clean. The staff is present cleaning everywhere constantly. Well stocked paper towels, hand soap and toilet paper.

Terminal 2 is quite a bit smaller in terms of number of flights but a whole lot more spacious and newer. There weren't a lot of restaurants in the area, just convenience stores and car rental agencies. There weren't a lot of people when I arrived in MEX at 6 in the morning. I used to fly in Terminal 1 all the time which was usually cramped so this was a nice change of scenery.

First of all, I’ve noticed that all the other Mexican airports I’ve been to, CD Juarez and Cancun don’t have luggage trolleys!? CDMX does have, but you can only use it for 10m until the arrivals hall exit 🤣🤣. I’m not sure how airports expect you to cart your luggage. The airport is not that big as I expected, but it does have loads of F&B offers on hand. There are a few electronics and souvenir stores as well. Overall it lacks facilities considering it’s the busiest airport in Mexico.

A usually crowded airport that every year becomes worst and worst. Normally are doing modifications and rebuilding inside the interior of the building. It looks pretty dirty maybe it is not but it looks and that is not a good thing. People as usual is really friendly.

Nice airport, longish walk from plane to immigration. One done with immigration, which was a breeze. You can walk right outside, after you pass some food places and low-balling exchange both. The the taxis trying to win your fare.

The airport is getting small for the size of the city! Very busy! The people are helpful. I had a lost checked bag and I was able to navigate through with assistance. Muchas gracias!

Transfer between terminals is not easy with luggage and/or kids. A lot of walking involved and the train operates every 15 min. I had to wait 9.5 min.. but was ok. Calculate enough time if it is your first time here and you don't speak Spanish .. follow the Airtrain signs.. Security was fast.. immigration tool me 15 min wait.. Expect to board/off board with bus on terminal 2.

Easy place to get around. It was pleasant and quick getting through immigration. As a rookie traveling to Mexico. Check around for currency exchange and transportation. It can take an hour if you choose the wrong type.

Giving a rating based on my experience for United Airlines Arrival and Departure. To arrive you come in Terminal 1 and walk down a hallway with glass dividers. Then you go down the escalator and you go thru the little machine that checks your passport and prints a little receipt you keep with your passport. Then you walk forward and your bags are on the left. Then you go to the right and big doors open and you see everyone waiting for their family. Go to Door/Puerta 1-4 and call an Uber cost like around $200. The Uber guy told me they aren’t allowed to pick up beyond door 4. On the departure I got an Uber to Terminal 1 again for $110 took about 30 mins at like 2am. Got dropped off at door 3-4 walked up the escalators second floor and followed signs to F1 hall which is where United Airlines check-in was. Got my bags check and my seat picked. Walked down the hall straight ahead international departures. Security was like 2 people in front of me. You don’t have to take your shoes off. Then I went to my gate 29 which was the same way I arrived just on the other side of the glass dividers and waited for my flight to Houston. You have to get your bags check back customs in the transfer to your final destination but shouldn’t take more than 30mins. My gate didn’t have any signs that indicated it was the right gate FYI and the employees don’t know it doesn’t say United Airlines or anything. There is a really nice cafe Urban Counter open at 2am . There was 1 set of bathrooms at the end. There was people catching flights to other parts of Mexico at 2am so it’s not completely empty. Overall if you have an early flight like 5:45 it’s super easy as long as you know where you are going because no one I met spoke English.
