Had a really good time here. Had brilliant starters and desserts. The mains were a bit of a hit and miss. But overall the visit was quite good and we had a lovely serving staff who was very knowledgeable about all the dishes. Here is a detailed review of the dishes we ordered. Starters Ordered empanadas and grilled provolone cheese - these were authentic and fresh Argentinian food, will definitely come back for these. Main course Medium rare sirloin steak- cooked in Argentinian style- grilled on the outside, was fresh and definitely medium rare on my plate- this is something that even big/popular restaurants struggle with however the chefs here nailed it. Pork belly- pork belly was dry and chewy however the supporting elements in the dish were quite good. Id recommend leaving the pork belly as a whole instead of slicing it too early and risking it to dry out and become chewy. Beef burger- burger was extremely dry as opposed to being juicy which is preferable and didnt feel fresh. The bun on the burger was of really poor quality too. This was the most underwhelming dishes out of all. Chips- the chips were cooked and seasoned to perfection especially with generous amounts of garlic and herbs - made it full of flavour. Desserts Had cheesecake and banana split. Both were really good but what stood out for me was that banana split with filo pastry shell. Id like to have some more please!!

What can I say. This is the restaurant everybody says they’ve wanted to go to but never quite got round to it. I now wish I had gone sooner. Some of the best steak I’ve had in London. Delicious, perfectly cooked steaks, scintillating sides, and excellent atmosphere and service. Goni was charming, warm, helpful but not pushy with the service, and an all round fantastic host. The wine was fairly priced and very good. Can’t recommend enough.

Probably one of the best meat I've eaten in London. And the service is amazing! I highly recommend. Just make sure to book in advance on busy days.

I don't have a picture of the lovely empanadas we had as a starter, as we were hungry and finished them as soon as they arrived (I highly recommend the spinach one). We went for the lunch deal, our first time dining at this restaurant and had an amazing time. The steak was perfectly cooked, the service was great and the atmosphere was nice. We will definitely be back, to try other dishes.

Delicious Argentinian food, and top-notch service. We've been visiting Santa Maria del Sur since it first opened and they continue to impress us. From booking through a to paying, a great and personalised customer service experience all round. We only had one small issue which was a couple of steaks ordered medium well that were quite raw inside; this was quickly rectified by the kitchen. Staff were patient with our large group and kept us topped up with tap water which was an excellent touch. Great atmosphere, authentic and varied menu. We hope to return soon!

This place is really special! The platter was outrageously delightful- that cheese! The steaks didn’t even need sauce, the fillet was so juicy. I live on the other side of London but I’ll be back. The team there are also lovely. A real gem.

I am utterly dismayed by my recent visit to Santa Maria Del Sur. As the sole table in the restaurant, I expected impeccable service, but what transpired was a cascade of disappointments. The service was a chaotic mess – nothing arrived on time, the starters were egregiously delayed, and our orders were repeatedly forgotten. The staff, notably young and seemingly disinterested, were more engrossed in their phones by the bar than attending to the few customers present. To make matters worse, our requests for clearing dirty glasses were blatantly ignored. This visit, in stark contrast to our previous positive experiences, was an absolute low point. Regrettably, the food quality has taken a nosedive. The empanadas arrived lukewarm, and the once vibrant chimichurri lacked any discernible taste – a culinary travesty. Santa Maria Del Sur, founded in 2006, has clearly lost its way. With such fierce competition in London's dining scene, I sincerely hope they can salvage their reputation. A significant overhaul is imperative if they aim to retain any semblance of customer satisfaction. My disappointment is palpable, and I can only hope for a drastic turnaround in the future.

Best steaks we've ever had... we try and get down to London couple times a yr for them bad boys... oh and the espresso martini's are pretty epic too...

Absolutely delicious! We are from Uruguay and I celebrated my birthday there. Food was amazing! We ordered a Grill and some sweetbreads, and I got a complimentary birthday flan. Thanks Facundo and the staff for an amazing birthday dinner!

I loved this place! Food and drink are great, they make a delicious burrata and ribeye. The price is fair and the staff are lovely. I will come back for sure.

We had a family birthday last night and the whole team looked after us so well, I can't thank everyone enough. Every dish was excellent. It was a momentous night for us, and we couldn't have found a better place for it. Thank you for your patience and kindness.

Booked a table of 5 here for my wife's birthday, and the staff were the most hospitable people and the food was to die for. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and their chimichurri sauce was the best I've had in london. The arepas were also standout 👌 Special thanks to Liam who took great care of us.

One of the best steaks I have had in London. The restaurant has a great atmosphere with excellent service. The prices were great for the amount of the steaks that were served. I would recommend getting empandas and fillet.

this was the worst steak restaurant i have ever been too, the burgers were cold inside, we was waiting for 4 portions of chips that never came and we still got charged for them. the food was disgusting and tasted like yesterdays leftovers. so overpriced for the terrible food. if i could give it 0 stars i would. never go here unless you want to get ill.

I spent a lovely evening for my birthday with my friends and family on Thursday 18th of August. We were in 10. The all crew was extremely welcoming and friendly. The head waiter, Thomas, was really helpful and knowledgeable, especially regarding wines. The food was amazing, the steaks were juicy and delicious, cooked to perfection. The grilled octopus cooked sous-vide therefore tender and tasty. The sweetbreads were incredibly delicate. Fair prices. Highly recommended. Can't wait to go again!

Was on the 156 bus and saw this place from the corner of my eye! Pressed the stop button quickly in a spontaneous manner and decided to go in to Santa Maria del Sur. Had beef empanadas mostly, but did try the ham and cheese one. So delicious, oven baked. Paired them with a bit of chimichurri which went perfectly. Great food and customer service, thank you Dani for the nice chat! Will definitely be coming back :)

All the food was soo delicious! Even water tasted amazing :D The staff is very nice too. If I would say anything negative, the restaurant was quite cold. It's cherry picking though. This place is a must!

Avoid if you don't eat beef. Customer service is very good and food is delicious. But limited items for non beef eaters. We have only 1 chicken item. Two Stars less because of price and less varieties, otherwise great place to visit.

Fantastic steakhouse that got both food and details right: chilled beer glasses, service with a big smile, great blues music, etc. The 2 pers sharing platter is great - beef fillet is especially succulent.

Wow! What great service came as a group and I just felt at home. Firstly the waiter was great had performed great customer service as us as a group agreed on. I will recommend coming here as food is stunning service is amazing and I left with a smile on my face, and the waiter was very funny which is hard to come by these days! Good variety of Argentinian wines, Luigi bosca being the highlight! I loved the steak, I got a ribeye twister which was amazing, cooked in a perfect medium rare.

Our sirloin steaks were very beautiful and tender to eat. Our waiter Liam was very attentive and gave us top tier service. Will come again!!

Had the pleasure of eating here on the 6th March. We had a group booking and arrived with one extra person which the staff accomodated with no issues. I had a steak and being the philistine that i am i had it well done, while the others were all medium rare. To out it simply, possibly the best steak i have had in a restaurant. We all enjoyed our food, and they even added cheese to the fries as its not on tje menu. The staff were friendly and unobtrusive but we were not forgotten about. Would highly recommend a visit, you wont be disappointed
