😠 I genuinely hope the owner of La Unica reads this review and addresses the problems with the restaurant. I can’t believe there are so many positive reviews after having such a disaster experience. There appears to be potential with this place when looking from the outside, but that all gets flushed... People often mention great, service, good, staff, Great, delicious, amazing, restaurant, experience, recommend,

Phenomenal food, memorable and delicious. Service was exceptional. There was a guy DJing 90s music in the corner. The atmosphere was lively, but not too loud or distracting. There's an outdoor area that's well lit, warm, and welcoming. The vegetarian options are not exactly minimal, but this place is certainly fish and meat oriented (like much of Mexico). This is a fantastic choice if you're in the Polanco neighborhood. I would definitely come back.

This restaurant is phenomenal. All the food is prepared with such attention to detail. The shrimp al pastor and cauliflower were favorites. Also the salsa they serve you to start with chips is delicious. The staff is extremely attentive. The setting is beautiful, outside and in. You can select if you want to sit inside or outside.

This is a place for after-work drinks with your coworkers. - The burger is a safe option - Reese’s cake is a good dessert option - Milanesa is not recommended.

Amazing restaurant. With an amazing vibe upstairs with a DJ. The downstairs has a brasserie feeling and the upstairs has a super cool vibe like a lounge/bar! What a great place that had the mix of both! Estefan upstairs was great he took care of us and made sure our evening was amazing!!!! Had a lot of fun here!

Great service, attentive and professional staff focused on details to create an amazing dining experience. Food is fresh and very tasty, imaginative and genuine menu with a Mexican twist. Expect a waiting list, booking in advance is recommended as it's a very popular spot amongst locals and visitors.

By far the #1 spot that we have visited in this trip. Great food, service, ambiance, inviting spaces, music. Would return again in a heartbeat. Raul was a fantastic waiter! Don’t hesitate to book.

Started with a classic : tortilla soup and followed with ribeye tacos tossed in habanero homemade sauce; paired with Las Nubes - a Mexican wine from Valle de Guadalupe- Greetings to captain Miguel and hostess Esmeralda

This place is one of my long-standing favorites. I prefer lunch to dinner here. The food is excellent at any time, though, but at dinner, if you are seated upstairs, it is difficult to have a conversation because it is so loud (but still a great vibe). I prefer their back patio. The music is great, and the service is extraordinary.

Just went here today- the staff was so friendly and accommodating bringing our 6 month old with us! Best mango margarita I’ve had and the food was so delicious. We loved the ribeye chicharrón (big portion) seafood tostadas and tableside barbacoa with mezcal! Great lunch experience

One of my favorite restaurants in Mexico City. Highly recommend go here quite often. The guacamole is amazing, the barbacoa is my number one choice!

The atmosphere of the place is good and the food is so-so. But it is the first time that I feel discriminated in a mexican restaurant, terrible attention from the waiters who had to ask for things more than twice. Dessert was nice.

Amazing design and multiple room. We shared few dishes and they were all amazing. Cocktails didn’t disappoint, the one with tamarind was unique. Music was a bit loud, but still very much enjoyable.

This place is cool, great vibe, private tables and the food is awesome. I'd recommend the chicharron de pulpo (fried octopus) and the alcachofa a las brasas (grilled artichokes). I only rate it 4 stars because it's pricey even for Polanco

We came here for a late lunch on a Friday while exploring the neighborhood and it did not disappoint! Beyond the food the service was spectacular and we had no less than four or five people catering to our every need or wish. Fresh plates changed out every few minutes while we enjoyed our appetizers. The melted cheese with chorizo and the grilled artichokes were delicious. My Caesar salad was made table-side right before my eyes. The restaurant was not loud and the ambiance was lovely, lots of beautiful people watching. I travel to many wonderful places but this restaurant definitely stood out and I wholeheartedly recommend.

Food was delicious but very rich and salty. Fun and energetic, hip atmosphere with a live DJ when we went. Too noisy to have a "date night" conversation but we had a lot of fun. Nice drinks and service.

We went for lunch based on a local friend's recommendation and were pleasantly surprised on how excellent the meal was. The grilled oysters were fab that we ordered a second serving. We loved the cauliflower salad. The salmon was a little bit overdone but the mash potato was super creamy and light. Highly recommend!!

Great place to eat! The tacos are awesome! Later, you can go for a walk to the surroundings that are full of trees and nature. I liked the mood of the place.

Great ambience. Delicious food. Fantastic cocktails. We sat at the bar because we didn’t have reservations but still had a great dinner. Will definitely be back.

New year's eve dinner was a big disappointment. Terrible food (size and flavor). The location is great. I would not repeat the experience.

Great place, good vibe. The food was really good. Really liked the chicharrón de pulpo (fried octopus) and the grilled artichoke. For dinner we had the grill tenderloin flamed with Don Julio 70.

I recommend making reservations in advance as there is a limited waiting area for walk-ins. The serrano ceviche mixto and ahi tuna were so delicious! The ambiance was great, there were many people and it was lively. Great place to enjoy a great tasting meal and a good crowd. Overall good experience.

Cool space, delicious food, and great service. I visited twice and asked for great gin tonic and tasteful finger/sharing food. Would definitely come back!

Food was quite good, though not as good as the first time we went a year ago (one steak was good, the ribeye, but the fillet we got was kinda flavorless). And though the place is beautiful, the service was pretty disappointing. We got one dish and one drink 2 extra times, the timing for entrees was all over the place, and it just felt like everyone was a bit overwhelmed. We’ll give it another shot, as we had a great experience in our first visit…but we were a little disappointed this time.

Very nice place. We didn't make reservations so decided to wait and have a drink at the bar and later just ate there. The skirt steak was very good. The drinks too. I would fine here again.

Great food and excellent variety of Mezcal and Tequilas. For a great Mezcal try the Las Garrafas - Máscara de Xaguar Naranja

A most! Still dreaming with it! The artichokes, frijoles matones, tacos de carne, fish with two sauces and the vasque cheese cake is to die for!! In is restaurant I tried for the first time a cocktail with Mezcla and I felled in love with it. Hope you have the chance to go, it’s really memorable.

I genuinely hope the owner of La Unica reads this review and addresses the problems with the restaurant. I can’t believe there are so many positive reviews after having such a disaster experience. There appears to be potential with this place when looking from the outside, but that all gets flushed down the toilet the moment you walk through the door. This place deserves less than 1 star. In fact, overall it’s low-key trash. Firstly, the food was terrible. We ordered two salads, and they arrived with dry chicken and the lettuce appeared wilted as if it had been sitting outside all day. The lettuce wasn’t washed properly so the bacteria gave my wife gas and diarrhea. I uploaded a photo so you can see what $50 buys you at this place. It’s an absolute disgrace. If you are looking for good food/service, avoid this place. It will be a nightmare experience. This is the first time in my life I felt discriminated against by the Hostess, the Waiter, the Captain AND the Manager. My wife has darker skin and the staff was very quick to try to be aggressive with her so I had to mirror their aggression to get them to stop harassing us, paying customers. I was like OMG WTH is going on with the staff. Many of the staff was racist and arrogant. When you approach the door, the Hostess has this disdainful look as she looks at us from down to up. Then she starts with an aggressive attitude stating we cannot bring our service animal into the place. We brought a service animal with papers and an ID. I politely explained to the very rude and ignorant staff that Mexican law allows us to bring the service animal into the establishment. Additionally, we just wanted to place a to go order, and we offered to place the order with her at the door to not cause a problem. She had a nasty attitude and told us to go to the bar and place the to go order. After about 20 minutes of unnecessary arguing with several of the staff, they finally allowed us to place an order. While we were ordering the arrogant Manager demanded to see our service animal ID, which I showed him. Then we had another brief argument until he walked away. After several hours of mistreatment and being ignored, we were able to receive the to go order. The salads were missing half the ingredients and we continued to ask the staff to complete the order so we could leave. It’s almost as if they train the staff at this place to be as incompetent and ignorant possible so people don’t want to return.

😐 This place is huge, and there's always a waiting line to get in, the menu is small and straighforward, but it's totally worth eating there... I would just say there are too many tables per room, and sometimes the waiters are less than attentive becsuse of the amount of customers... still worth it.
