Good sight if you got some spare time. I went there by Uber starting from La Reforma Ave. The Uber cost about 160 Mex Pesos (15 Mex Pesos = 1.00 Us$) and took 35mins to get to the embarcadero Cuemanco where you arrange a Trajinera (boat) to take you to your trip. The "Trajinera owner" charged us 1400 Mex pesos for 3 people as we wanted a short private 2 hour trip with 2 trajinera's men to row us faster. The regular trip would last 4 hs long with only one rower. You have the option to arrange a large group or to join on a forming group once you are there to make it cheaper. The canal is quite peaceful on the weekdays, a bit filthy with not much to see. Bring your own drinks and snacks as you might be bored within your 50mins drive up to the island. You have the chance to take some pics rowing the boat with this long wooden stick which was quite fun. Once you get off the boat they charge you 5 mex pesos per person to land in the island. I gave them 5.00 Us$ for the 3 of us and off course no change back. Bring change. The island of the dead dolls was interesting in a way but very small, dirty and the story teller man who identified himself as being the nephew of the owner who started the legends, told us a brief 5 mins story about his uncle. After hearing the story you're free to take pics around. The place is very informal with no infrastructure at all, it definitely needs some cleaning and organization.

We had a fun time here. The new owner is a lot of fun. We had a great tour guide on the way there to navigate the canals. Would recommend if you're into creepy tourist attractions. It's definitely and experience. There are reportedly a few similar attractions in the area

CREEPY BUT INTERESTING. The trip by boat is very long, more or less 6 hours the round-trip.

It was creepy as heck, even though we were there during daylight hours. It's a small little place but there are dolls EVERYWHERE! The guide gave a little presentation of background info which was interesting. And then you just walk around, take pictures, check out the dolls. Some have been there for decades, others are more recent, they're all creepy. They do have a primitive bathroom but it's better than nothing. Unfortunately they don't have much of a gift shop (that's the only thing I think needs improvement), and pictures don't do it much justice. Very interesting.

Excellent collection of creepy and weathered dolls, the owners will tell the story of the dolls, clarifying that they are not there to scare but rather to ward off bad spirits that drowned a small girl 50 or 60 years ago. People can take their own dolls as donation, if they are chosen they are put up with the other dolls. Be prepared to take about 2 hours of your ride going out and back, as the island is a bit far off from the usual places, but well worth the visit.

It was amazing. Takes forever to get out there but despite how drunk I was the entire time, it was fantastic...... apparently wanting to jump in the polluted, murderous canal is super frowned upon. So is wanting to play battleship with the other canal boats But still. Great experience

You can easily see the creepy dolls from the classic boat rides. Lots of dolls and stuffed animals that could be the source of nightmares.

Neat place to check out as a destination while at Xochimilco. Not for everyone but if you want to see something that few others take the time to see.

It has lot of dolls hanging around with a history. They charge 50 pesos to visit this place and not worth more than 5-10 mins of exploration time. ( Compared with museums in Mexico where they charge 80 pesos for 2-5 hrs of exploration time). Unless you have ample time to explore and gets intrigued by the dolls, you can skip. There is a Another mock site that they are building just close to draw bridge .. I personally think locals are trying to exploit tourists with these attractions.

Waste of money and time. $70 mxn per person (total scam). They tell you a 2 minute story of a creepy hermit who collected a few dolls from trash bins and then tell you you're on your own to tour the 700 sq ft Island with dirty toilets, litter and trash everywhere. Do not waste your time and stay on the canals enjoy the scenery.

Erie and serene. Worth visiting with a group, would not go alone. Definitely bring pesos for the Island to get entry and pay for a tour. The locals are very helpful.

What an interesting place. It is exactly what the name describes: an island with dolls. You definitely get that. There are some interesting backstories on the island, the man behind the island, and the dolls. Overall, it's a fun, eerie stop to make as you're riding up the canal. Go!

(Translated by Google) The place is interesting, the only thing is that I think the entrance of 50 pesos is expensive for what it is, the journey is much 20 minutes with the explanation of approximately 3 minutes. I score it with 4 stars because I was amazed by the diversity and quantity of dolls that there are from different times, from old ladies with some mystery to recent. It is a place to go only once and not repeat, because I don't feel I can offer very different things.

(Translated by Google) How experience is worth, the cost and the explanations they give you is not very good. But it is worth it for the tour that takes place in the Trajinera since it is a more relaxed tour. That in the rest of the channels. It's 2: 30hrs to get to the island from the Nuevo Nativitas pier. Good to see but don't bring a separate DSLR camera they will ask for $1000 pesos to bring on the island really ruined the trip. Settled on $500 pesos. There are so many similar "island of the dolls" that are just as good for pictures that it's really not worth it. Plus they are much closer. If you are looking for a quiet trip on the boat the trip out is much better than the island.
