This was my first haircut with Martin and certainly won’t be my last. I’m very satisfied with the cut because my hair can be difficult for people to get right bc it’s fine and I have a lot of it. He’s confident and just goes for it which is hard to come by. 10/10 would recommend! TY Martin <3

Martin is hands down the best at everything he does! I can’t express how amazing my experience was with just this review, but he did an amazing job cutting my hair. I was visiting LA and he gave me so many suggestions as well on were to go. I will definitely come back to see him next time I visit LA.

Martin was SUCH a pleasure to work with! I went in to cut my medium-length hair suuuper short, and at first I was really nervous, but he listened to what I was looking for and was super encouraging throughout the haircut. He talked me through what he was doing throughout the haircut so I wasn't ever left guessing. He made me feel so comfortable to the point where as he was about to finish up, I asked him if we could actually go even shorter, and he was super receptive and open to the change. He even gave me suggestions for which celebrity's look I could get inspiration from so that both he and I knew exactly what we were going for, and I could not be MORE grateful to him! He won't let you leave unless you feel anything short of AMAZING. Will definitely be going back to him!

Martin is the best. I am very particular with my haircut, and it has taken nearly 7 years of trying different salons and barbers around Los Angeles to finally find someone who is not only experienced, but cares about what they do. Martin took the time to hear how I prefer my hair to look as well as explained how we are going to achieve those results. You can tell by the way he works that he is methodical and experienced, and cutting hair for him seems to be an art form. It’s a joy to spend time in his chair and chat about art as well! Highly recommend Martin!

Martin was super friendly, kind, and gave me a great haircut! He gave me some sample product to try and some styling tips, too. He had very good attention to detail with the cut. He was careful about sanitizing and wearing a mask, as were all the other stylists in the salon. He asked me what my pronouns were ❤️ overall had a great experience!

Go to Martin! It was the best haircut I've had. GREAT for curly hair! He knows that all curls are different and gives you a cut that works specifically for the way YOUR curls work. I would choose him over those curly salons any day. Plus Martin is so lovely to talk to!

Martin was so wonderful. Go to him! I went in to get a long hair undercut and am so happy with the results. My hair is extremely thick and I’ve had plenty of haircuts with people who don’t take the time, so I was even more thankful when Martin really took the time and care to get the cut just right in every way. Highly recommend.

Martin has taken excellent care of my hair for months now! I identify as gender non-conforming, they/them pronouns, and Martin has always made me feel so comfortable in his chair. Whether I'm keeping my cut as my usual masc-of-center style or if I'm getting dolled up for a special femme mood, Martin makes both work! My fine hair can be challenging to cut into a nice barbershop fade, but Martin makes it look effortless. I don't think I've ever gotten this many compliments on a consistent basis about a haircut before. He also goes out of his way to get me great styling products and shampoo that he knows will help thicken my hair! He's amazing :)

I've been going to Martin for the last two years now! And every single time I go, I'm happier and happier with how Martin cuts AND styles my hair. That's because, unlike most of my previous hair stylists, Martin LISTENS. Before Martin, I've never been comfortable to actually engage with anyone doing my hair, so I honestly didn't know what I was talking about when I first tried to explain the hair style I had in mind to him. (There's nothing like telling someone with bladed instruments near your head that what they're doing is wrong, only for them to tell you 'I'M NOT DONE YET.') Before he even starts, Martin will explain what he's doing and ask for what you think before he starts. However, if into the styling you don't like it and tell him, Martin will actually stop, step back, and listen to you to look at your hair to try and understand what you're talking about it. (Did I mention he's also a sculptor, so I'm sure he'll figure out how to shape your hair!) I've always had the best of times in Martin's chair and it's one of the things I look forward to every month. Every cut, I get more and more comfortable with him and find myself experimenting with different hairstyles and products and styles. I actually dyed my hair for the first time (and definitely not the last) ever with him and I can't be anymore happy with the result. (Picture attached!) All in all, Martin's a great stylist and an even greater guy. Entrust your crown of hair to him and I promise you'll hold it high.

Martin is incredible! Not only did he know exactly how to work with very thick, wavy hair, he really understands queer language and style. When I said I wanted Femme queer hair, with a general description of the length and cut, he knew exactly what I meant. No basic bobs or toning it down. He’s not afraid of trying new styles and I always left really happy with my hair. I’m in the Bay now, but Martin is still the best stylist I’ve ever had

Martin helped me figure out exactly what cut I wanted. I expressed that I was feeling anxious about cutting my hair and he made me feel so comfortable. He is skilled, thoughtful, and just an all around talented hairstylist. Will definitely be returning and getting many cuts from him! Thank you Martin 😊

Martin cares about EVERY SINGLE strand of hair on your head with detail and meticulous precision. It's not often you find someone who treats your individual needs like a new canvas. I've never left a haircut feeling like my expectations were exceeded until Martin! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Especially if your queer, weird, or both!
