The "disappearing" guns of Battery Crockett. These 12 inch guns retract and remains hidden from view before and after firing. Dont miss coming here when visiting the island.

Battery Crockett. A coastal artillery battery that was known as the disappearing guns. The guns had tons of steel underneath that acted as a counterweight to allow the guns to be withdrawn into the building. These guns were 12 inch guns that required a crew of 30 to fire at a rate of 1 round per 40 secs. Corregidor Island has a rich history that dates back before WWII. Highly recommend visiting and learning the rich history the Philippines has to offer!
