I rated this all 5 star because I received that level of service commensurate with this Inn. It is not a resort, nor a luxury hotel. It is an older property (with ongoing renovations)that has been cleaned up nicely and has all the necessary features. It is in the downtown area; near good restaurants, the rooms are large enough and the beds are comfortable; and everything is very basic. The managers responded promptly to text messages and kept us apprised of check in times and other necessary information. I would stay there again without hesitation.

Great remodeled boutique motel! Cute and comfortable. Great location right in town near shops, wineries, and restaurants. They have bicycles for their guest to borrow. Friendly and helpful staff in the office. Free parking. Safe area.

This was a great place to stay. Very comfortable, very clean and quiet. Very easy to check in and out and everything was set up for us. Loved how we had our room number and code so we could go straight to our room with little hassle. It was located at the end of the boulevard so it was an easy walk to see the entire village.

We stayed here 3 years ago, cute motel right next to everything in town. Very friendly and helpful manager on duty, whose family owns this wonderful place. I've been a flight attendant for Delta for 32 years and have stayed at thousands and thousands hotel all over the world, believe it or not, I like this little place so much, it's far better than most of the top hotel in the world. We're doing another road trip and might stay here again.

Stayed three nights and this place is adorable! Neat and clean and at the end of the main street so it's quiet. The management responded quickly to any needs and was easy to contact via text if necessary. The free breakfast coupons for the bakery were a plus. They have updated almost everything in the room. The shower still needs to be updated and there was no ice machine yet but I would stay there again. The beds were comfy and the fire pits at night were a nice touch. Parking right out front too.

We had an incredible stay at the Viking Inn! They did an amazing job on their recent remodel. The rooms are great and the outdoor space is wonderful. We loved the fire pit! It’s perfectly located in the heart of Solvang. This is a family owned and operated business and everyone that works there was so nice and helpful! We can’t wait to come back. 😊🇩🇰

Value for money and a great location. Easy self checkin. The rooms are small but the beds are comfortable and the room was nicely decorated. It worked great for myself and three young boys. I just wish it had a dresser but that’s a personal preference when traveling We saw the renovation show and thought a last minute trip would be a great way to kick off summer, indeed it was.

We had a great stay at Viking Inn! The hosts were very responsive and sent us detailed information for our check in process. When we arrived into the room the A/C was already running, which we really appreciated since it was 95 degrees outside when we went. Had all the basic amenities and the bed was very comfortable. We LOVED the winery passport and wish we stayed more days to be able to do all of it. The outside is also a very nice touch, and would have loved to stay another night to enjoy a glass of wine at night outside. Location for us was perfect! It is located at the beginning of town, but everything is in walking distance so that did not matter. Definetely recommend this place and will be coming back for sure!

Viking Inn motel is perfectly located. The surrounding area is clean and very quiet. The hotel made every effort to ensure our arrival was as easy as possible. They even contacted us with the code for the door, we planned to show up early and the owners told us the room was ready and they even went above and beyond to turn on our AC as we visited during a heatwave. Look forward to my return to Viking Inn, my only recommendation is to upgrade the bed, understanding that the Inn is undergoing a renovation.

My husband and I were here for two nights at the Viking Inn on one of my many, many trips to the lovely village of Solvang. I have stayed at quite a few of the inns, hotels and cottage properties here in town, but it was our first time at Viking Inn. After reading other reviews about its renovation, we decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed. The prices are very reasonable, the rooms comfortable, clean, and spacious, and the customer service was outstanding. We had several interactions with Cindy who was on property during our stay, and she could not have been more friendly or helpful. It's also wonderful that parking is right in front of the inn. We enjoyed the fire pit one night, and appreciated the very hot water in the shower (hot but not too hot). Lastly, we also had fun on the bike path and pedaling through town on the complimentary bikes! I'd recommend the Viking Inn to anyone looking for a comfortable stay with terrific service at a reasonable price!

I’ve been looking for reasonable accommodations in Solvang as I visit the Santa Ynez valley fairly frequently. The Viking offers everything one needs in a great location. Clean, comfortable and well-designed. I will be back and will recommend to others as we enjoyed our stay.

This cute little hole in the wall was such an incredible stay! Came to celebrate my birthday with my husband in Solvang and found this gem within walkable distance to everything! We also met incredible people in the courtyard and had a great time near the fire pit. Will definitely stay again and highly recommend staying here

The hotel had renovations since our last stay & I recommend this hotel if you are visiting Solvang. It is clean and new, no smell, everything is functioning, location is convenient yet away from the town’s traffic. We were happy in our stay. And pet friendly

My husband and I stayed for a weekend getaway and it was perfect. The bed was extremely comfy, the ambience was modern looking which I appreciated, and the free parking was out in front which was nice. The showers could use some updating but overall cleanliness was good. The wine voucher they offer was 2 for 1 special and it was spectacular because they give you a list of wineries of where you can use the voucher and we chose a beautiful winery called "Sunstone" which was about 10 min out. HIGHLY RECCOMMEND. To go into town, we used the bikes which were complimentary with our stay and that was the cherry on top. I would definitely stay again for another small vacay.

This is a very clean, quaint little Inn. The location is perfect, right at the beginning of town. The cost is very reasonable. The beds are comfy and lots of little personal touches. Check in was done online and you get a code instead of a key. You can tell the owners have put their heart and soul into this Inn. We look forward to staying there again when in Solvang. 💕

Pros: - Location is amazing. It's right on the road/strip that most toursits want to be in Solvang for. - The remodeling is going great. The unit that we stayed in was clean and cozy. We saw them actively improving the place throughout the duration of our stay. - The owners are nice! The husband of the couple who owns the place went out of his way to ask and find what we were looking for. - Upon first entering the unit, we found a 2-for-1 wine tasting gift and some recommendations for local eateries/activities. Cons: - The remodeling was not complete by the time we stayed there in July of 2023. We could tell by the state of the bathroom of our unit. There were cracks and rust in the showers, and the toilet was one of the lowest pressure toilets I've ever experienced. We had a very pleasant stay overall! I'm excited to see how the place will be a few months/years from now once all the recnovations are complete!

We stayed one night with my wife and my two kids, and it was great. It was a good price, nice and clean room, and friendly staff. I loved the fire place area to sit in the morning for a cup of coffee and at night to end a night!

They were accommodating when we were checking in early and they also was able to accommodate our pet. The room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable had amazing stay and it was very quiet.

I absolutely love the check in process! Also, the keyless entry made it very easy for my family to enter at different times. Very comfortable beds and fresh, clean, white linens. There is a refrigerator but no microwave. Excellent location right in town making it very easy to enjoy the city!

Great location that is a few minutes away from Olsens Danish Village Bakery, easy to walk to many popular places in Solvang. Modern and clean looking rooms that are in the process of being renovated. We stayed for the weekend in a King suite which was spacious and comfortable with a mini refrigerator in the room and great working heater/AC unit.

I stayed only for a night at Viking Inn while I was visiting Solvang. I believe it’s nice enough to spend a couple of nights. The location is very central, you can walk around and find everything you need. The room was clean and comfortable. I think more plugs are needed and I would appreciate a complimentary water bottle upon arrival. It only had a water kettle with instant coffee and tea, maybe a regular coffee maker would be nice. Staff was kind and welcoming, they allowed us to check in earlier.

Have stayed here before. Since I am retired I appreciate the reasonable rates. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is quite and comfortable for me and my dog. I also appreciate the coffee pot, tv and WiFi. I like to visit Solvang as my get a way place a few times a year. Looking forward to seeing your remodel. A satisfied guest, CP

GOOD STAY ON BUDGET IN GREAT LOCATION Perfect location and walkable to wildling museum, olsens bakery, solvang brewing company, Paula’s pancake , Jule haus, Sanger wine tasting, trolley stop and everything interesting on mission street. Pros: - Great LOCATION. - Surprisingly very comfortable bed - Rooms n bathrooms are clean - Staff is super friendly and helpful - Basic amenities included - mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, shampoo, conditioner, soap, hair dryer. - Cute patio furniture outside to hangout late night or for morning BreaKfast Cons: We understand some restoration work is going on but - Shower water pressure is super low - Water flow is slow in bathtub drain hole (fine if u take a quick shower).

Viking Inn-- It is Clean, under construction and great location. I would stay there again anytime for any length of time. Pedro at the front desk is very helpful, he gave us (clean) wines glasses when we needed them. The beds and sheets are new and comfortable. The towels are old but clean, I would bring your own soap/shampoo. *I appreciate in this economy that it's a great value-thank you..

Friendly staff, comfortable, and clean, can't ask for much more! Only thing I would change is the height of the showerhead, but at 6'4" I think that's more of a me problem.

Ants everywhere in the bathroom and walls. Room was somewhat clean but sleeping on the bed made us itchy. Hot water in the shower wasn’t working either.

The host was very friendly, and the accommodation was a little old, but it was clean and clean. I had a very comfortable time at the accommodation. The room price was very nice and the location was good. I want to stay again next time I come.

Johnny was a really great guy. Was super polite and helpful. He even suggested a few places we could go check out. He made our stay there much better than it would have been otherwise.

Great location, an excellent welcome with assistance and the hostess even drew a map to a place I couldn't find with GPS. The room was very clean and the bed was perfect. Very obvious upgrades have been done and more seem to be on the way. It was excellent value for the money in this expensive town.
