Timing is everything. We walked from the Pismo Pier and went around 3pm on a Saturday and the line wasn’t that long. Now there was a bit of a wait but nothing like I read or heard about. Don’t let the line deter you from eating a cinnamon roll though. I ordered the almond one with frosting on the side. It just seemed overwhelming sweet and too filling if you had the frosting directly on top. It definitely hit the spot and satisfied my sweet tooth. Served warm and just every bite was heaven. It’s a pretty good size dessert too so you can be super ambitious and eat the whole thing or just share. 5 stars for the cinnamon roll itself. The shop itself wasn’t anything too inviting. There’s small signage at the door instructing you to wait to be called. We didn’t see the signage and the cashier wasn’t too friendly about letting us know. The menu wasn’t posted anywhere near the line so probably could have been more efficient if this was posted while you were in line vs deciding what you want when you got to the cashier. There’s no inside seating and just a few seats outside. 3 stars for actual facility and the experience.

What more is there to say. 5-stars is absolutely the right rating for this authentic and loving cinnamon roll joint. This place is special, just as much as their cinnamon rolls. We stumbled upon this place during our 6am run at Pismo Beach and the natural smell of fresh cinnamon rolls lured us in. I love the fact that they create their own "rolls" - looks like a pound cake or a ciabatta but you definitely have the rolls. Then generous amounts of whatever toppings you may think of. If this is your first time here, I highly recommend going with the Basic with icing on the SIDE. Just enjoy the soft, cinnamon, sweetness rolled into a palm-sized heaven. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Will return whenever we are in the area. Heck, we'll go to Pismo Beach just for these cinnamon rolls. Make sure to go early in the morning!

Stopped by on a Saturday night about 15 min before closing and the line was long and out the door! Lucky, we ordered ahead via phone (online ordering was closed) and we were able to skip the line. We got an original and frosted (cream cheese frosting). Both tasted great but I liked the frosted version better. The seasonal cinnamon roll was frosted with cherries but they were out of that flavor. They let us buy the cherry topping for $1 and it was totally worth it. Definitely stop by Old West Cinnamon Rolls if you are in the area. You won't be disappointed.

Must have cinnamon rolls. Places smells like heaven when you walk in. They have a huge variety of rolls. They do sell out so hurry. Take some home. I don't like frosting and this places has non frosted and still taste amazing.

These cinnamon rolls will change your life! Literally the best ever. Do yourself a favor and order 2 bc you’ll want another as soon as you finish the first. We got a maple bacon which was divine and the original. Don’t miss out if you visit the area.

If you are in Pismo you DEFINITELY need to try this place out. I first tried Old West Cinnamon Rolls at the Kern County fair. I did not know they had an actual location. Now eveytime I come to pismo I have to go and get me some rolls. There is always a line for the entrance usually takes about 5-10 minutes to get in. The wait isn't long especially for something so good. I definitely recommend the Maple Bacon, and don't forget to buy some extra cream cheese frosting!

The best place ever for Cinnamon Rolls have ever been. One of the first stops every time in Pismo Beach. If you have never been, need to try next time in town. Big variety and friendly staff. If there is line, WAIT it’s worth it.

Old West never gets old… and having them on the beach is the best! If you’re not super hungry, one roll is probably enough to share. I’ve had the almond and maple bacon rolls, and highly recommend the maple bacon. Simply the best!

Yes, there will always be a long line to get the greatest cinnamon rolls in California. But don't worry, the line moves quickly, and within a few minutes you'll have awesome Cream Cheese Frosted Cinnamon Roll. Whatever you order, you can't go wrong. You'll love it. And a note to Betty Clemens and family, thank you for keeping the prices so low even thru the crazy inflation. You're the best!

Mmmmm cinnamon rolls just like we used to have in the old west. As the sun dipped below the rugged horizon in the Old West, I savored a warm cinnamon roll by the campfire's flickering light. The sweet aroma filled the air, drawing curious cowboys. With each bite, time seemed to slow, and for a brief moment, we forgot the wild frontier and indulged in the simple pleasure of a cinnamon roll shared among friends under the vast, star-studded sky.

Im not very fan of breakfast bakery stuff like donuts etc, but i have to say this place is rocks. We visited here on recommendation of a friend who learn we are visiting the area, totally worth the trip. Despite all the hype they still fairly priced. Original cinnamon roll its simple very tasty, also tried walnut and pecan one they’re very delicious, order frosting on the side that’s also was really good not all sugary frosting. I will definitely stop by next time im in the area.

Needed coffee and dessert after lunch and this place had parking, so we went in, smelled oh so good. I hadn’t seen so many varieties of buns. They tasted okay but they were neither warm nor as gooey as I had wanted. Wife loved the apple one (seasonal one), daughter loved the apple one and I liked the cream cheese one. Their coffee was good and they also had pumpkin flavored which we didn’t try. Before I write off this place I will go back once more to try them warm.

Came here many times over the years and this place is always an incredible treat! A good amount of options but not so many it's overwhelming. My favorite is the maple bacon roll with cream cheese 😎 but all of them are good These are also dairy free unless you get the cream cheese on them for any lactose intolerant folks.

The early morning line sparked my curiosity at this place! The sweet smell of cinnamon rolls were so delicious I ended up with 9 rolls and a coffee. The prices are extremely reasonable with a simple menu. Buy 8 rolls get 1 free. Baked to crisp golden brown with a yummy cream cheese option along with bacon and other varieties. I highly recommend this place and go early when they open at 6:30 to avoid a long wait!

Knowing how delicious Old West cinnamon rolls are, we placed an order to include as part of our dessert spread for our wedding. Included in our order was the cinnamon twists and the cinnamon roll heart, both of which included cream cheese frosting on the side. The cinnamon twists are about 12 inches long so for smaller portion sizes we asked if they could cut into fourths which was perfect. Anyways, the order was placed and paid for in person a few weeks prior to our event. My aunt went to pick up the desserts at the designated time but it was not ready another hour and a half later. Fortunately, my aunt still made it on time to the wedding. And, as usual their desserts were amazing. We’d still consider ordering from Old West in the future, but will perhaps will either request an earlier pick up time and/or call in the morning to confirm when the order will be ready. We are giving 3 stars overall because of their service, but it's always 5 stars when it comes to the quality!

I wanted to love this place and thought I would because of all the amazing reviews. I ordered an almond cinnamon roll. It was flavorless, poorly made and tasted of cheap ingredients. Good cinnamon rolls are made with brown sugar. The one I got was made with white sugar, which also wasn’t fully mixed in (see photo). I couldn’t finish eating it.

This place has unbelievable hot cinnamon rolls that are second to none. They are so good that I had to let everyone know if anybody knocks this place for quality ain’t telling the truth. If you passing through Pismo Beach you gotta stop by and enjoy a cinnamon roll.

If you're ever in Pismo Beach, CA, you simply must stop into this legendary business, in Downtown Pismo. They make their pleasingly plump cinnamon rolls from scratch here, multiple times daily, & you can even watch them making 'em. My favorite are the gooey pecan rolls, & walnut rolls, & my wife loves the cream cheese-covered cinnamon rolls. We've been coming here for nearly 30 years, & this place never disappoints. The original recipe for these rolls was developed 40 years ago, by Betty Clemens, from nearby Shell Beach. This business, that harkens back to Mom & Pop-type enterprises of the past, has been open since 1981, in the Pismo Beach location. We're so thankful they're still flourishing. You can take home some of their Old West Cinnamon Rolls Mix, which they sell in the store, plus they offer fresh-brewed coffee & espresso drinks here. I love this place!

I've been to Pismo a ton of times and never knew of this place! Then, of course, someone posts a video on IG and I had to try! We went on a Rainy Sunday around 11am and there was a huge line, so we continued on with our day and drove back at 1:30pm and there was no line. I'm so glad we decided to go back because they were delicious!! We got 3 rolls: Pecan, almonds, and cream cheese. They were surprisingly not too sweet, like you would assume. They even have ones packaged and in the fridge for you to take home. I will definitely be going back. Here's a suggestion as possible a new roll that no one asked for: cream cheese and pecans together for a nice crunch! ********* Update: After reviewing the online menu, I found out you could purchase the cream cheese frosting separately! When I went back, that's exactly what I ordered, pecan and a side of frosting. My husband got the pencan raisin, which is now his favorite.

Surprisingly soft, fresh, and tasty cinnamon roll. It offers various flavors on top of the originals. We ordered Maple Bacon, Cream Cheese, and Walnuts and all give different taste and are all really good. Even after normal breakfast time can still experience a long queue but it is totally worth it. A must try bakery place. Food: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Price: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Recommend: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

This place smelled like heaven and had a very long queue so I just had to join to find out what it was all about. I had a cream cheese frosting cinnamon roll. It was pretty good but not amazing. The place itself was not pleasing to the eye and the cashier mixed up our drinks.

Famous spot sells fresh buns and mixes to make the same at home. Buns with nuts (sticky buns) are loaded with lots of nuts. Suggest consuming your fresh ones immediately because they will toughen up later. Entertain yourself watching the dough chefs at work so you’ll learn how to make it at home.

What can i say about this place in pismo beach except that it is great. This place has been around for years and if you ever had one of these cinnamon buns then you know and understand why. If you don't i suggest that you get there and have a few. What better way to enjoy a cinnamon bun than at the beach on the pier or on the beach enjoy the sound of the waves crashing against the shore line or breathing in some fresh clean air or even enjoying a beautiful sunrise or sunset. I'm just saying. Love this place. Here is what i had. Enjoy.
