Super fun place to drive around with ATV. For $5 you can have fun in this recreation sand dune all day long. Some people would set up a fire place and watch to sun set. It’s a beautiful scenery. You can rent ATV’s right next to the entrance. Costs vary depending on the types of vehicle starting about $50 to $70 an hour. If you have your own ATV, you can definitely try it out here. But please don’t drive your SUV off the path into the soft sand dune area. I got stuck in the sand even though my car is an off road four wheeler. I was fortunate to have a Good Samaritan rescued me. For just to walk around without cars, go south of this place another 5 minutes, there is a vast sand dune hill that’s just for people. See my pictures.

Such a great place to visit and experience for a few bucks. You drive on the beach and get to either camp or enjoy off road paths/sand dunes. Take your toys, Park safely and enjoy the sand dunes. Bring your 4x4 and coast it!

While I don’t grasp the concept of vehicles driving on the beach, the beach itself is very nice. The sand is soft and there are obviously dunes. The water however looks really dirty unlike the beaches further north like Avila.

The beach & dunes were fun. We tested my son's 4×4 and it was a blast. Be careful of kids, and all people walking where the trails are.

First time being here and it was awesome 👌. Drove in the beach and parked. Pet friendly, we walked the dogs on a leash since there's cars driving by.

Looking for a place to just park and enjoy the scenery or even camp this is the spot. Year round passes are only 50$ .

Able to get onto the beach to view the sunset and do a little driving down the shoreline. $5 is the day pass fee. Very relaxing.

Sea bass for dinner, some live music and a beach fire.. walk the dog and slept to the sound of the waves.. awoke to fog and hot coffee. The best

My extra large truck isn't designed for sand. So even with 4 wheel drive I opt'd out of the driving on the beach. But it looks fun....

We just loved it. We used to take our infant there in the early 1981. Alot of sand. And just a very pretty place. Now that we are in our mid 60s we love it even more. We moved here so we could go anytime we wanted. We live just 20 minutes down the highway. We go a couple times a week but never on the weekends, it's to busy for us local people. But love it so. It's a nice place just to think. You can actually get lost in your thoughts there. Very Peaceful.

Oceano Beach Natural Preserve in Grover Beach is a coastal paradise. With pristine sandy dunes, breathtaking ocean views, and a well-preserved environment, it's a must-visit destination for nature lovers and beachgoers alike.

Pretty awesome, you can drive on the beach with your average car, for miles in fact. You need to stay just above the surf but not up into the dry stuff. There's kind hearted people that will pull you out if you get stuck, and some that do it for hire 💵 💵 💵.

Nice beach, clean and has public bathroom. However limited selection on restaurant and activities. Do offer ATV rental just down the road.

One of the rare places where one can drive all the way into the ocean if one wishes, but before hitting the ocean, do drive in the beach and explore the sand dunes. Cheap thrills can be had for a 5 dollar entry fee. Go and test out your AWD sand mode.

The Oceano Dunes are some of the largest dunes around. The access is easy and rentals of all types are available or bring your own off road. The beaches are clean and wide, with lots of wild life including dolphin and whales passing by. There are horse back trails and hiking dunes as well. A great adventure awaits.

Came here to enjoy a nice day on the beach and my stuff was stolen, including my brand new phone. This park used to be safe. This place used to be a great place for me to visit. Now I can never go back because I will always be reminded that my stuff was robbed because of some greedy people.

The dunes are gorgeous at sunset! Great place for a short drive and or bonfire. I like to buy lunch and park on the dunes and have a bite. Also, this super common for folks, but buying dinner and a bit of fire wood, the parking, starting a fire, then eating your dinner with a sunset view. My partner and I enjoy this immensely. I know folks want to close down these opportunities, but this is such a privilege of enjoyment. I haven't camped there yet, but from other friends, they absolutely like it and have a great time. I should definitely try that soonish before things close to vehicles.
