Delicious food. Chef Margarita is always around happily sharing with costumers. Top dish is the Mero Presidencial, what a great mix of flavours, totally recommended! Prepared to be surprised! Service is good but could be improved for a top restaurant. Wine list is poor but still we enjoyed a good rosé. The restaurant has relaxed and pleasant environment (with Ella Fitzgerlad in the background). This deserves a stop if you are in Santa Marta.

This is my favorite restaurant in Santa Marta. When I have family and friends visit me I always take them there. If you want to make a good impression this is the place. The food is delicious and cooked with love, you can taste it. The restaurant is upscale you can see it in the food 🥘, the attention to details, the arrangements of the table, waiters and how beautiful it is inside. Margarita the owner and chef is very nice she comes to your table and tell you how she prepared the food. You can also take pictures with her… This is a must restaurant to visit if you are in Santa Marta.

This used to be one of the finest places in town, how ever our regretable experience last nigth put it in the Very botom of our list. The food was beyond aweful, extremely overpriced, poor selection, the dishes they got famous for where not available, the service was rude, the food cold, did i mención stupidly overpriced,? in sumary STAY AWAY FROM IT!

This restaurant in Santa marta is truly world class. The interior has so much history and ambience. Service is impeccable. But obviously the highlight is the food. This lady is a culinary genius in her kitchen. She knocks it out of the park with fish, meat or pasta. Her vivacious carácter and enthusiasm for her food is infectious. The whole dining experience wraps round you like one of her sincere hugs!!

I do not write a lot of reviews, but this was an outstanding restaurant. A completely different experience and level when compared to the other restaurants in town. The chef Margarita is truly hands on and greets you and walks you through her menu in a lovely way. The restaurant also has the best wine selection in Santa Marta, which is also a rare find. We had the mushroom risotto, the pepper steak and the grouper Pugliese. Amazing! In an area of town filled with a lot of touristy restaurants that do not truly focus on the quality of the food, this is a gem and a breath of fresh air. International level cuisine, and a great experience. Not cheap, but totally worth it!

Margarita, cheff n owner, graciously prepared our meal for 4 pple, the food was excellent, fresh ingredients n great flavors. she never disappointed us, this is our frequent restaurant in sta marta, the 🍐 pears for dessert were simply 😋. We had tried almost everything in the menu and all r equally delicious. Thx Margarita for a memorable meal.

So good. Best meal I had in Santa Marta . I had the presidente, a grouper covered with prawns and a vaguely tamarind like sauce. I'd go back to this restaurant in a heartbeat. Not a lot of space in the restaurant, so you might want to reserve a table.

Basilea is a really elegant place to have a romantic dinner with your partner or have a business closing meeting. Best contracts are closed with your stomachs full. Margarita, the chef, welcomes you personally and is always present to make you feel comfortable and happy. Every meal is made and is recommended to meet the diners taste and preferences. A place to visit when visiting Santa Marta and wanting an international plate or seafood well done.

The teriyaki salmon was delicious and the coco de pargo was really good. They waitress recommended a nice Portuguese white wine to pair with the meal. The chef is very sociable and friendly. Definitely the best food we ate on the coast and probably in Colombia.

Very good food made by a really lovely woman. She really takes care of the guests no matter the language difference. The best was the dessert with pancakes and ginger orange sauce. A little bit pricier than the other restaurants in this area but absolutely the best choice so far!

By far the best restaurant in Santa Marta if you want a quiet experience with great food, wine, and service. It's also air conditioned and has linen table cloths. Enjoyed the adult experience without kids.
