Arepas de yiya

Restaurant

👍 Yes, the arepas are made fresh, grilled right there in leaves. They are okay, not to die for. The peto costeño or white corn drink was what I enjoyed. Everything is very affordable. The servers are good. People often mention cheese, arepas,

Best arepa with costeño cheese I ever had. Cooked on a charcoal grill, they use plantain's palm tree leaves as pan to get a perfect golden and toasted finish.

For more than 30 years has been the most traditional Arepas in Santa Marta downtown, just delicious!! Taste local flavours and street foods!! Recommended!! Open every day after 5pm but sundays it is closed.

This is the place to have arepas in santa marta. Slowly cooked corn/cheese bread over a grill in a plantain leaf... just try them

Excellent value for money. For 8.000 COP a very earthy soup with big chunks of beef and a large portion of chicken with rice, beans and fried plantain. Better come with an appetite

This Street food restaurant has been in Santa Marta for near 70 years. First, Grandma Yiya started making arepas in other place in town but later, they chose this house and keep making one of the best cheese arepas I have tried in Colombia. The arepas are made with corn and cheese over a charcoal grill in the street but if you want to seat, you can have one inside. They usually open from 5 to 8 PM and keep a line of customers, not only standing but of cars to buy to go. One of the things you have to eat in Santa Marta.

Great traditional arepas en hoja from this city. Visiting Santa Marta it is a must to try it! It is a place that seems very local which is fantastic to have an authentic experience.

Not tourist friendly at all, they completely ignore you and their amability is 0 (even though Im a Spanish native speaker). Arepas are burnt from outside (not crispy but burnt) and raw from the inside, Im quite sure this is not the traditional way.

Excellent product tainted by awful service. Got there and the guy that was in charge of our order didn't even pay attention to what we were intending to order

👍👍 As a large group of 12, I was impressed with how amazing the service was. They were quick to ask for more drinks, food was fast, staff was kind and helpful - ordered cabs for us at the end of dinner as well. They had two other large groups there as well, and didn't skip a beat. The food was delici...

🫤 Overhyped. The morrillo was dry and the margarita pizza was average. Just a reminder you did not come to Santa Marta for the food.
