A very beautiful piece of colonial architecture, both outside and inside. I was amazed at the elegance. Maintenance is ok. Ventilation inside the church is good. Statutes are beautiful. Historically very important in not just Colombian, but also in Latin American, as the city is one of the oldest surviving cities in South America. If you are in Santa Marta, this is a must visit place. Be watchful of people asking for money.

I attended Mass at 10am on Sunday. The other Mass times for Sunday are 7am, 12 noon and 5pm. There is a Saturday Mass at 5pm which I assume is a vigil Mass.

I love this place, it is a beautiful square where you can see the cathedral and white old houses, with a lot of history. Do not miss when you visit Santa Marta downtown.

Built 250 years ago. It was the first church of Latin America and its style is renaissance. It is located in the heart of the downtown, right on the square close to the stationeries in downtown. Traditional family choose this venue in Santa Marta to get married. It has this beautiful lights at night for pics.
