I was expecting as advised by a tourist guide a long beautiful beach, with very few people as can only be reached by boat. The beach was so crowded there was no space to sit or lie down unless you paid $50,000 for a beach shelter, which was in a continual row along the very small beach. It may have been beautiful 20years ago, but not now. The beach was dirty and the sea full of people it was awful. Couldn't wait to leave. If you want a relaxing afternoon, do not go here.

The beach is very nice, quite clean. A thousand times better than the rodadero. Would go again

One of many Colombia beaches. The water is just lovely. And the most important the people's hospitality. 🤗🤗🤗

Lovely Beach really closeby to the city leaving from rodadero. You Will find many restaurants And shade while you enjoy the sea.

We had a great day at Playa Blanca. Yes, there are hundreds of people - but the beach is beautiful and there's a great atmosphere. We did arrive until midday, then left on the final boat home (around 5pm). This worked well for us because we arrived at the busiest time and saw the beach empty out as the day went on. If you go to the far end, you'll see awesome reef fish and I recommend you walk up the hill to getting a gorgeous view of cacti and another secluded beach. The seafood lunches (the same in every bar) are also delicious!

Very crowded beach. The beach is actually nice and the water is very clean but it is really mass tourism. You need a boat to go there (20000 round trip). It was too crowded and too loud for me.

Playa Blanca... nice place... to get there you have to take a boat... You have to look closely at the boat operator... why is there a "war" between those people. A boat 'X' took me and on the way back he told me no... I asked about the other boat and none of the boat drivers gave me a reason... you could hear how badly they treated each other... what a shame that is... very bad. organized... let's see if the local government does something.

Beautiful beach to spend a pleasant day. Very few sellers and no one goes overboard with prices.

The move here is to take a boat for 12k per person but also buy a cooler with 20 beers for 60k pesos, you’ll reach playa Blanca and enjoy it’s cool waters while watching people repel down the mountain.

Super nice beach. There is a bar with great drinks and a restaurant that I did not visit, but seemed great. Most people boat here, but you can also take a motor bike or car and then hike 25 minutes from the parking lot. Great swimming!

It's a nice retreat from the poor beaches on the main strip. Can get very busy at peak times. Sea is clam and pleasant. Annoying that you are forced to listen to some people's trash music. Litter on the beach is a problem, with locals leaving their rubbish behind. Lots of good vendors.

Playa Blanca is a beautiful beach. It gets really crowded, just 10 minutes by small bote from El rodadero. You can buy food in the restaurants there... we went in high season, a little crowded. I will try to go to go to other beaches near the Tayrona park next time to relax with less people.

Over rated in my mind. Don't do a tour it isn't worth it. Water taxi is cheap I believe about 30,000 cop. The Aquarium is small and interesting and is on the way also by water taxi.

(Translated by Google) It is one of those magical places that you have to know in Colombia. The experience on the beach is remarkable, where you will find clear and calm waters. The food and services provided by the locals may well be what needs to be improved, since prices go from expensive to usury, and their quality does not correspond to the prices they handle. In this area of the country people talk about living from tourism, but it is misunderstood to want to spend time with tourists (Original) Es de esos lugares mágicos que hay que conocer en Colombia.

Playa Blanca is one of the best beach you can find in Santa Marta. The easiest way to go there is by sea getting one of the boats in Rodadero beach area. The round trip tickets cost 12.000 pesos approx each and the trip takes 10-15 minutes approx Some boats stop to the Aquarium where you can enjoy the marvellous fishes which are living in this sea and also a dolphins show and then they will continue to the Playa Blanca beach. Once in Playa Blanca I strongly suggest you to rent a beach tent as the sun is very hot. The beach is not very large and you can walk in half an hour. There are several restaurants to have a lunch for 25.000 pesos approx and you can spend the day doing various activity in the water like rent a seabike etc etc. The beach as usual is full of seller , they offer you everything , normally they are polite so you can avoid to be rude with them. There is also a kind of lift from a part to another one of the beach which cross the whole beach from the top so you can get pictures during the falling. The system seems safe but the day I was there there was a lacking of energy in Santa Marta and so not always the lift was working properly. The water is very clean better than Rodadero and Taganga beach. To go back always take the boats they stop the service at 16.30 so do not miss it ! You will stop again in Rodadero area where it is easy to find a taxi.

Lovely place! Do the zip line, it's a lot of fun. Great beach but don't go in high season, even in low season is packed.

It's a beach close to Rodadero Beach in Santa Marta. You reach it by boat. There are a lot of boats that leave from the harbor, and the trip takes only 10 minutes. It was safe when I went. The beach was not as busy as the Rodadero, but I found it quite busy anyway. I went the week before Christmas, however, and it was expected to be full. The water was calm and clean and there were a lot of restaurants on the beach. I highly recommend it if you go to Santa Marta. As usual, you pay everything so if you want to sit you have to pay for a spot. Overall, the prices, including the boat trip and restaurants were OK, and you can negotiate the rates.

It's best to avoid this beach. It was a must-visit attraction some years ago; now it's an overcrowded place, full of salesperson and without control of waste management.

Came here as my hostel receptionist recommended it as a nice beach in Santa Marta. You have to take a boat from Rodadero Beach which costs 15 000 COP (vendors will give varying prices which you may counter bargain). I expected it to be quieter than Rodadero but it was actually very busy with local tourists. The beach itself is just okay, nothing to write home about or recommend. I did notice garbage in the water when snorkelling and don’t recommend it for snorkelling as there is nothing to see. The sand is coarse and the beach strip is kind of narrow. Drink prices are pretty average at 5000 COP/beer. The tent rental are way over priced at 60 000 COP though. This is an okay place to spend the day if you have nothing else to do in Santa Marta. If you are visiting and tight on time, skip this for sure.

Beautiful clean crystal clear Caribbean water. The boat ride was beautiful to the "playa". The trip fee round trip per person was $15,000 Colombian pesos @ $4,500 pesos per dollar equal $4 US Dollars! At the beach we're several restaurants and many tents (for a fee). If you choose a restaurant to eat you do not need to pay for a tarp/ tent and chairs. The food at the place we chose was terrible, no name of restaurant. Overall, awsome place to spend a few great hours.

Was a nice beach. Much nicer to the ones around it but it did smell a little and it looks a bit contaminated from boats, etc. The restaurants around were not that great but it was a good place to relax, etc. Paid about COP 12K (USD 4) to get there by a small boat. That was return per person.

Oikein mukava ranta.

Visted Playa Blanca on a Sunday, and I had got a deal through a tour company. For a fee, you are given a wristband that gives you round-trip access from the city dock to the beach. The wirstband also allows you to get a free lunch with your choice of fish or meat. There are tents on the beach you can rent. Jetski rental also. Different vendors walking along the beach, selling souviners and snacks. Beach was nice, but there were a lot of people. As part of the shuttle service, the last boat leaves at 3:30pm so get there early if you decide to do it.

Nice beach close to Santa Marta (Rodadero) Tops: - Distant from the messy beaches of the Rodadero - Nice path to the top of the Mountain (30 min walk) with an awesome view - Cheap Tips: - There are still a lot of street Sellers, but the moment you sit down or later down they stop. - Don't trust the food prices. They Will increase It for you since you are tourists.
