My boyfriend and I traveled to Santa Marta and stayed at the Dreamer for two nights then traveled to stay at the dreamer in Palamino. The food was amazing, I recommend the burrito it was delicious. The staff was great and helped us plan a bus trip to Minca for the day which was extremely easy. The room we stayed in was clean and spacious. I highly recommend staying here. It met all of our needs and was extremely safe.

I stayed for 3 nights here. From the moment you walk in the pool is right in the middle. Check in was seamless and extremely friendly, helpful reception staff. My room was excellent, very clean, spacious and had A/C. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the shower was incredible after travelling all day it was nice. The kitchen was fantastic, ate every meal here and the chefs do a great job. Location was perfect, short taxi ride into Santa Marta and all it has to offer. I would 100% recommend and I will be back soon!

The hostel is quite striking, with the pool as the centerpiece. The dorm room was plesant. Mine had AC, I wouldn't recommend booking one without. The kitchen was well equipped. But ne warned: They play incredibly loud music from 12pm until 12am. No matter where you go in the hostel, you are subject to the pounding music. Even in my room, wearing earplugs, I could still hear the music clearly. It made it very difficult to have any kind of conversation. Also the location is not great, you are away from the water and old city. But there is a very nice mall in walking distance. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again due to the loud music. It's like trying to sleep in a nightclub.

Awesome hostel! The staff at reception make you feel welcome. Food was great and the private room was perfect for a night. Great base to head to tayrona or minca!

Love this hostel!! The food is really incredible (fish tacos are the best I've ever had), the rooms are nice and always clean, the staff are friendly, the facilities are great. The location is a major bonus too, although it is not in central Santa Marta this is actually better when moving along the coast (to tayrona etc) as you can catch a bus really easily from the end of the street without having to tackle the horrendous Santa Marta traffic.

The best hostel in Santa Marta. I wanted to stay just a couple of nights and ended up staying more than a week. Especially the staff was super nice and always there to help with everything that came up. Special thanks to la Reina del Hostel Louisa and barkeeper Juanito.

Great hostel, great staff, great food. Would 100% recommend staying here. Location is perfect despite what people say. Buses to tayrona and carribean coast pass the end of the street without having to deal with centre of Santa Marta

🔸️Room: We went for a private room: aptly named Colombia. It's a medium sized room but perfect for two people. Bed is excellent, shower is amazing, although water was only ever luke-warm. 🔸️Common areas: There is an upstairs terrace area where you can cook, watch TV or sit down and read. Downstairs is the pool, grass with deck chairs, a pool table and a bar..and tables for eating. 🔸️Cleanliness: Super clean. Staff were constantly cleaning areas. 🔸️Hostel Kitchen: Coffee is available all day, free! We only ordered food once: the Vegetable Curry. It was lovely! 🔸️Staff: Really helpful, the owner is so hands-on and always available to help out and advise on transport issues. 🔹️Only negative point would be the issue with drinking water. Having travelled a lot from hostel to hostel its always a real shame when a hostel doesn't provide free water for guests. Overall I would stay here again, it has amazing chilled vibes and the staff were SO helpful - it really felt like home. The free drinking water would be the cherry on the top!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best hostel in the city, near Tayrona park, minca and other places of relevance in the city. Despite the setbacks with the pandemic, it has kept it's excellence on customer service and facilities. Thank u guys!

Low key, quiet and great service. It’s out of the historic centre, but right next to the major shopping centre and perfectly situated as the gateway to the roads that go to both Minca and Tayrona—allowing you to avoid the traffic when you’re ready for an excursion. A fun place but not a party place, a perfect place for me with great people and vibes.

This hostel a really big with a lot of beds. The pool is very nice and quite big. The staff is awesome and very helpful. The kitchen serves great food from different cultures. There is a kitchen for cooking your own food, too. The location is great for trips to tayrona and minca. The hostel offers shuttles as well.

The rooms were basic, but good enough. I had a dorm with a fan, but it got really hot. The pool is nice, and the food is good. I booked my trip to Ciudad Perdieda through the hostel and they toke care if everything in one day.

(Translated by Google) Terrible service of who should be the friendly face of the place -Alvaro- person who does not collaborate, and that hinders even an order of preparation of the food, which he kept and for his attitude we had lunch at 3 in the afternoon. The rest of the friendly and collaborative staff. Too bad, I would not even like to return. (Original) Pésimo servicio de quien debe ser la cara amable del lugar -Alvaro- persona que no colabora, y que obstaculiza hasta una orden de preparación de la comida, la cuál guardó y por su actitud almorzamos a las 3 de la tarde. Very nice hostel, especially for the price. Friendly staff, really helpful, food was great, rooms comfortable and the set up was brilliant. Lots of space, easy to socialise and having a pool is a huge bonus. 10/10 would recommend

(Translated by Google) Dreamer Hostel is especially for young backpackers. The staff is very friendly and speaks English. Tours to Ciudad Perdida can be booked directly from the hostel. However, the hostel is outside the center of Santa Marta, where there are many bars, clubs and restaurants. In addition, the Caribbean beach is not far from the historic center and far from the Dreamer Hostel. There are in the Dreamer Hostel good food at fair prices. Allerdings ist das Hostel außerhalb des Stadtzentrums von Santa Marta, wo es viele Bars, Clubs und Restaurants gibt. (Translated by Google) I do not give 5 stars, just because it is the first time that happens to me that the image they show of the room in the reservation, is super remote from reality, but I have no complaints about that room either. Of rest, very good attention, all very beautiful, and I think that I do not enjoy the services to the fullest because first time I stay in a hostel as such. Rest everything perfect.

Stayed here for two nights - before & after the lost city trek. It’s fine for a night before an excursion but don’t expect to stay here to see the city. There’s nothing to do in the surrounding area. DJ was horrible both nights, annoyingly bad. At 7pm music is blasting so loud you can’t even have a conversation and there’s no way to escape the music. Food was ok and wifi was good

We spent 3/4 nights here, if you can I recommend that you try request the Columbia private bedroom which was the most spacious and comfortable (the bed was class!) out of the three different private bedrooms we stayed in. The Holland rooms bed is pretty hard and probably needs to be replaced but aside from that the rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable with Ac and tv in all of them. The only slight issue that I can think to report on is the music at night, with that being said that is the type of hostel it is and I’m just showing my age now haha. My younger self wouldn’t have minded it so much. Also, to end on a positive note, a special mention to all of the reception staff. They were always exceptionally friendly and helpful during our stay, Particularly on the day of our check out when we were allowed an extra hour to get organized and pack when my girlfriend was sick, that was most appreciated (I’m sorry I didn’t get the receptionist name but he is a pure gentleman, you know who you are.) Keep up the good work dreamers 👍🏻👍🏻

100% standing ovation level applause to the staff here. They were all sooo magnificent, always smiling and giving the warmest feeling to me as a guest and friend visiting the area. Luisa, Juan, Jessica (marketing), Carlos and Miguel at the bar, the kitchen team, and the cleaning team were extraordinary. Thank you so much!! I know I’ll definitely be back!

Really great hostel, if you can stay in Colombia room definitely do! Only complaint is that the DJ and music was so loud during the day and well into the night. Great place to stay if you are going to the lost city and post lost city

I got bed bugs when I was at this hostel, and saw another traveler who did as well. The staff offered no compensation, stating there was no way it was their fault and cancelled my stay on hostelworld so that I would be unable to leave a review there. The hostel is far from the centre. Would not recommend.

This is a fantastic backpacker hostel to stage your adventures around Santa Marta. They also will lock up your bags while you go on the longer tours. Everything was extremely clean and the food was fantastic. Highly recommend!

My friends and I had an absolutely great time making the experience in Colombia/Santa Marta outstanding. We used Dreamers as base for the Lost city track. The Staff is phenomenal, super friendly. Highly recommend.

Really brilliant hostal - it was really pretty, had all the amenities you could need, the food was incredible, the staff were brilliant - especially Louisa who was the absolute best ever! She was so friendly and helpful all the time and you really felt like she cared about your stay and that you had a good time! The rooms were fairly basic but had everything we needed for our stay as we were out and about most of the time anyway and the location worked perfectly for everything we wanted to do - short taxi ride into Santa Marta main town, close bus stop for Tayrona national park, walking distance to the Simon Bolivar park and easy access to Minka which the staff can help arrange too if you'd like. We also did a day trip to Minka with Juan which was great but definitely hard work to walk to the coffee plantation. If you're feeling confident then you could absolutely do this trip on your own however we found it really useful to have Juan along for advice and tips and for the reassurance going somewhere newer. He was really friendly and such a great laugh and a few nights later when he was helping with the salsa night he was just as fun and interactive. Couldn't praise this location enough and would definitely recommend!

Wow most amazing experience. All the staff are great. Shout out to Nathan, Juan, Laura and Raff. Fantastic team that I never wanted to leave, ended up staying 2 weeks longer. Great vibes, cocktails and the funniest bar tender Nathan!

The staff is rude and disrespectful. They don't accept passports at checkin and don't want to provide a place to stay. Some speak both English and Spanish. Nice hostel with large lockers for all but the largest bags.

Feels more like a resort than a hostel. Not very social but nice place to chill. Food & pool are great. Don’t come here if you’re looking for parties & activities but it’s perfect if you want to just chill for a couple of nights.

  • 2/5 Audric L. 11 months ago on Google
Unfortunate to give a low rating. Had a nice stay. Then realized they gouge you on some extra services and fees. Sometimes, even the personnel doesn't know the pricing. Was planning on staying at other Dreamers but will not anymore.

Cheap and functional, but also loud and geared towards a very young party traveler crowd. The location is handy if you are just transiting Santa Marta to Minca or other places, since it's right off the highway and therefore you don't have to bash your down downtown. Good wifi. Standard breakfast. FREE LUGGAGE STORAGE is awesome!!

I had an awesome stay at Dreamer Santa Marta last month. Such a cool little community. Great place to relax before exploring Parke Tayrona. Pros: -chill pool & good music - Good Vibes & Friendly staff -The food is the BEST I've had at any hostel by far. A special shout out to their pizzas & pastas (Pasta Alfredo) which are delicious. Even the burrito was delicious (being from SF, I've got pretty high standards for Mexican food). - Laundry service! (great when you are a smelly traveler like me lugging around a week's worth of dirty clothes) -Had the chance to volunteer with local children! I think a lot of travelers like me would love to get involved with the community, or give back in some type of way. But unfortunately, I haven't found many easily accessible ways to do this on my travels. Really nice to see that the owners actually care about the community they operate in & it makes the whole travel experience much more rewarding. Cons -the line for checkout can be a little long (this has been the case at every hostel I've stayed at) -The vibe is great!...but can get a little noisy, especially if you have to get up at 5am for a hike. Guess you cant have it both ways ; ) Overall, terrific experience and would highly recommend a stay here if your looking for a chill, relaxing experience, with good, food, company, and music at a reasonable price. Hope to be back in the future

I highly recommend this hostel if you wanna chill out and relax during your trip. Hammocks to relax, the swimming pool to cool off, pool and table tennis to have fun. The staff is very friendly and helpful mainly the new manager Stick who is adorable and willing to help you at anytime. The food served at their restaurant is delicious at affordable prices. Plus, they are currently remodeling the hostel for the holy week.

Loved this place. Really good hostel for meeting other travelers and socialising. The pool is great. But lots of spaces and hammocks to chill out in too if you want. Music turns off at 12 and if people want to keep partying they get a cheap taxi downtown. The guys working behind reception are the best - so friendly and know your name! And have good recommendations on what to do.
