We
booked
the
two
bedroom
apartment
and
were
not
disappointed.
It
was
really
nice.
We
only
stayed
two
nights
and
had
activities
planned
during
the
day
so
we
didn’t
get
to
enjoy
the
space
as
much
as
we
would
have
liked.
It
was
legit
a
two
bedroom
apartment
with
two
private
outdoor
spaces
and
two
bathrooms.
We
also
loved
breakfast
each
morning
which
was
included
and
had
a
couple
alcoholic
beverages
one
afternoon
which
were
delicious.
Staff
was
very
friendly
and
the
front
desk
spoke
English
which
was
very
helpful.
Also
on
the
day
we
checked
out,
we
had
them
hold
our
bags
because
we
had
planned
a
trip
to
Minca.
They
had
also
arranged
a
car
after
the
trip
for
us
to
take
to
our
next
destination.
The
tour
in
Minca
was
running
late
and
we
were
able
to
communicate
with
the
hotel
over
what’s
app.
They
were
so
responsive,
updated
the
car
reservation,
and
even
called
our
next
hotel
for
us
to
tell
them
our
arrival
time
and
then
offered
to
take
our
dinner
order
and
pass
it
onto
the
next
hotel
since
we
we’re
getting
there
later
than
expected.
The
pool
areas
were
also
very
nice
(the
pool
was
pretty
cold
but
that
didn’t
stop
my
kids
from
enjoying
it).
Also
we
were
able
to
walk
wherever
we
wanted
(to
the
beach/marina,
to
dinner,
shops,
etc).
They
just
told
us
that
we
might
want
to
get
a
cab
after
dark
back
to
the
hotel,
which
we
heeded
their
advise
on.
There
are
some
streets
that
empty
out
that
I
wouldn’t
want
to
find
myself
on
after
dark.
All
in
all
the
hotel
was
great.
In
terms
of
Santa
Marta,
it’s
definitely
not
first
world.
It
was
pretty
dirty.
Also
we
didn’t
realize
but
they
don’t
let
you
flush
toilet
paper
in
the
toilets
anywhere
there
(including
our
hotel),
so
that
makes
bathrooms
gross
pretty
quick
when
you
have
to
put
that
paper
in
a
garbage
can).
Also,
hardly
anyone
speaks
English.
Again
the
hotel
front
desk
did
which
was
awesome
but
we
didn’t
really
encounter
anyone
else
who
did
(from
our
cab
drivers
to
the
restaurants,
etc).
It
was
the
same
case
in
Medellin
where
we
came
from
before
arriving
in
Santa
Marta.
It
was
totally
fine
and
we
got
by
everywhere
we
went,
we
were
just
a
little
surprised
since
it
is
supposed
to
be
touristy.
The
beach
is
not
nice
however
we
went
sailing
one
day
(with
Luis
via
Viator),
and
that
was
beautiful
and
he
took
us
to
a
nice
beach.
All
in
all
we
would
definitely
stay
at
Casa
Carolina
if
we
ever
come
back
to
Santa
Marta.
Oh
and
keep
cash
on
you!
The
cab
drivers
did
not
take
cards
and
we
were
in
a
pickle
when
we
arrived
at
our
next
hotel
and
couldn’t
pay
the
fare
(I
had
asked
repeatedly
at
the
hotel
who
arranged
the
ride
if
he
took
a
credit
card
and
they
said
he
did
however
after
the
hour
and
a
half
ride
to
our
next
destination,
we
were
scrambling
to
figure
out
how
to
pay
the
driver.)
