Noisy music. Felt like I was sleeping next to a screaming discotheque. Not a place to have a quiet relaxing vacation. Room was adequate but outdated. Great pool and view but it takes more thank that to have an enjoyable vacation.

Busy night life! Everything is close by. Nice mall pharmacy restaurants. Lots of street vendors. Hotel remodeled clean friendly staff. Hotel is joint venture with resort ,with pool and easy beach access Breakfast is only eggs fruits coffee and bread. I'd come back. People are very friendly.

It is a hotel. Not a resort, in my opinion. It offers no activities to enhance the guess experience. You are on your own outside of the grounds of the hotel. However, there are not enough reasons for one to want to just stay enclosed in the hotel. It would just mean to be enclosed in the room because the other alternative would be the pool that is big enough for a hotel but too small when the desired areas around the pool can be held hostage by just less than 10 guess for the entire day. Really nice hotel with in walking distance from the hotel. The only thing I disliked was the way the air conditioning functioned. You had to insert your key car into it for it to work. So if someone steps out with the card you will die from the heat. Or you leave to talk a walk on the beach you will return to a hot hotel room. Otherwise I loved this place they even have us commentary drinks and breakfast soon our arrival.

Food is really disappointing, terribly bad can be a better description (Sierra en salsa criolla / Pargo marinera)...for $60k per dish just go outside to a decent restaurant or chew a car tyre for free. The room is for three people but there were only two towels and bed sets; rooms tend to be too dark with only two small lamps for the whole room. Location is the only upside.

Beautiful location with one of the best views in the city. The pool is an Infinity pool with view to the ocean. Our breakfast was on point as well. Also service was impeccable from everyone around.

The Tamarca Beach Resort Hotel in Santa Marta, Colombia is the worst accommodation I’ve ever experienced. And also, shockingly by far the most expensive. To start off, really poor internet. Cannot contact family to tell them I’m ok(would be a lie anyway), cannot send a picture to friends, cannot access Google Maps to make plans, save time or avoid hazards. Next, they want to charge $100 for a load of laundry. All I need is a basic wash cycle but they want me to itemize everything and nickel and dime me to the max. So here I am washing my clothes in this low pressure, barely hot shower with a tiny bar soap scrubbing away my entire evening. Couldn’t even do the wash in the sink because the drain stopper wasn’t installed correctly. And neither was the toilet cover. You can’t even sit on the toilet in peace because the cover falls forward, hitting you in the back so you’re left with it resting uncomfortably and stickily on your skin. Charging is also a problem. First the electricity is very weak so it takes three times longer to charge your devices than normal. Oh you’ll charge them while you’re out and about? Nope, your room only gets power when your hotel keycard is in a wall slot in your room. I’m just angry thinking about this rip off of a place. The view, pool and beach are nice but fall way short of making up for these terrible experiences. Especially at close to $200 per night.
