I
took
my
14
month
old
baby
to
an
EMERGENCY
appointment
with
Dr
Romero.
Or
that
was
what
the
receptionist
said
when
I
explained
that
I
had
my
baby
with
respiratory
difficulty
and
they
had
sent
him
to
Barranquilla
but
I
wanted
a
specialist's
opinion
on
his
difficulty.
The
emergency
appointment
cost
$280,000
and
I
noticed
that
this
consultation
fee
only
opens
up
the
space
for
the
doctor
to
treat
you
and
even
when
a
BABY's
respiratory
difficulty
appears,
they
do
not
give
priority
in
care.
7
days
after
the
successful
treatment,
the
baby
continues
to
have
a
little
more
difficulty.
Instead
of
receiving
improvement,
it
turns
out
to
be
the
opposite.
I
contacted
the
medical
center
to
advance
the
follow-up
appointment
that
I
had
given
for
a
month
since
there
was
no
improvement
with
the
treatment.
And
perhaps
because
it
is
a
control
appointment,
they
give
even
less
importance
to
my
son's
health
because
I
was
only
able
to
get
them
to
"reserve"
a
slot
for
me
in
3
days.
One
hopes
at
least
that
when
it
comes
to
children
or
the
elderly,
perhaps
they
will
pay
a
little
more
attention
because
they
are
more
vulnerable
to
suffering
health
crises.
I
personally
thought
that
because
they
were
private
appointments
the
attention
was
a
little
better
but
in
the
end
it
turned
out
to
be
very
similar
to
those
of
the
eps
because
I
expected
at
least
that
they
would
tell
me
"bring
it
in
in
5
minutes
and
I
will
at
least
review
it."
Don't
wait
3
days.
An
expensive
emergency
consultation
that
does
not
demonstrate
quality
care
or
interest
in
the
patient's
problem,
a
treatment
that
does
not
work,
a
control
that
is
fought
because
they
do
not
really
show
interest
in
the
health
of
a
baby
and
in
the
end
they
find
another
specialist
who
at
least
relieve
a
rhinitis
crisis
with
swollen
adenoids.
I
think
they
should
work
more
on
the
human
side
and
at
least
try
to
ensure
that
the
care
is
of
the
quality
that
they
advertise
in
so
much
advertising
and
show
interest
at
least
in
the
treatments
they
send
to
patients.
