Nice ocean view…. And agile enter to wait gates! But the lounge is really small and expensive without good services and product offered. The audio system is really the worst and in a summer or holiday times they don’t have capacity neither patient

I am mystified at all of the excellent reviews. Perhaps they went downhill recently, or I went on a bad day, but I can not recommend this airport, and would advise you to avoid it, if you can. (Which you probably can't, but you've been warned. ;-) When you walk into the airport, there is one large area for check-in, and limited signage. Once you have checked in, you need to know to turn around, because the walkway to the gates is actually right next to the main entrance to the airport, but there is no signage to let you know this. (Most likely, you will walk all the way down and look for the gates, because that is how every other airport operates, but you would be wrong.) Security was fairly straight forward, and I had no real complaints about that. Once you are through, you will be dumped into a gigantic hall, where everyone waits for their flights in one gigantic area. Flights appear to run late here frequently, and on both my arrival and departure, I could see lots of travelers who had obviously been waiting a long time for their flight. Because there are very few dining options, there is not much to do, so I don't recommend getting here early. While you are waiting, you should not expect to be very comfortable. The Wi-Fi, although free, was abysmally slow. It was almost impossible to load web pages or apps on your phone, probably because there were so many passengers there from missed flights. And during my visit, there was limited air conditioning in the airport, and the temperature averaged around 80F (27C). All in all, it was a very uncomfortable place to wait for a couple of hours. (Ironically, the plane was much more comfortable, than sitting in the open airport.) If possible, try and avoid this airport.

Santa Marta's airport has a nice entrance and relatively new infrastructure. There are a few restaurants and locals but nothing to highlight. If you arrive early you will be stock with little things to do. The airport has a quick process for entrance and there is only one big hall for you to wait your fly call.

Small but busy. Very manageable. Plenty of options to eat. No gas station at the airport. So fill up on the road to Santa Marta.

    1. This airport is surrounded by a beautiful beachside that is free to access. So come early, check your bags, and go outside and enjoy the water and sun. The beaches are nicer than in Santa Marta!! 2. There is A/C on the first floor (check in), it is quite strong. There are no outlets here. There is limited seating on this floor. 3. Domestic departures area (national) there is a charging desk by gate 5 (see picture). 3. Checking in with Avianca was no problem and the staff were very nice despite we didn't have our boarding information. We had one carry on and one checked.

This airport is located practically close to the sea, close to the ocean, it has a very particular infrastructure. It is a place that shows the beauty of the coast even if the people do not have the best culture. It is recommended to visit with friends, as a couple, with family and even alone.

Is one of the better entrances and easy to enter airports with covid stuff. Located close to the beach and away from Santa Marta. Has A/c but feels warm.

Brand new airport. Happily surprised. Fast, clean and the usual suspects for food. 2 x 1 shakes at the food court. Next to the board in entrance I had the best carrot cake. No availability of lactose free milk products till you get to Oma. $6.800 for a capuchino. Check out the jeep at Willis Cafe. It is the only place with charging ports.

The airport building is of a high standard and everything seems to work very well! Tip for travelling to Santa Marta: take the blue bus which stops right outside Arrivals. It will take 50 minutes rather than the 30 minutes by taxi, but you pay only COP2,000 as opposed to COP30,000! And you can get off where you want in Santa Marta - the bus comes along Carrera 4: just look at google maps as you proceed through the city. And taking the bus gives some local colour!

Free wifi with no registration. Cool airport. Friendly staff, no queues and what I really like prices are there or there abouts what you would pay in the same shop outside the airport.

I would look for other flights then use Avianca. Terrible customer service and their problem solving from the top down, is atrocious and I wonder who is do the hiring. Had my flight delayed for almost 12 hours and they provided little consolation or accommodation for electrical issues with their planes. I’ve traveled alot this was by far my worst experience! If you have a choice, choose a different airline!

This is one of my preferred airports in the world. Even though it is a small one, it has the best view of the sea and the sunset, that in Santa Marta, it is one of a kind each afternoon. Also, if you have a long wait, you can take your clothes off, wear a swimsuit and go to the beach, that is just steps away from the main entrance. Inside, there are some shops to buy a gift to go or eat something fast. A coffee is very good for waiting at the gates and there are some shops first and second floors.

No idea why there are such negative reviews about this airport. Was a bit cautious before coming here but it was a smooth sail. Airport is quite new, quick check in and security and if you are early you an chill at the beach next to the airport. I mean where else do you see an airport right next to a beach??

This is the smallest Domestic Airport (5 Gates) I’ve ever been in my life, clean and organise, however there is not sings and the screens didn’t work, hopefully the screens started with the crowds.

Efficient, no line ups. Could be a few degrees cooler. Mask rule in effect but not enforced as far as I could see. Overall a good experience

Small but good airport with a huge range of restaurant. Public WIFi is not very fast but okay. Just in front of the door is a nice beach were you can swim, no joke, it is a pretty awesome add to this airport.

Ok but not one moment over 3 hours where an announcement isnt shouted through the speakers… its 5 Gates… also to few seats and wifi doesnt work. Ok facilities but shouldnt be that chaotic for a small airport

Nice and functional airport, very clean and with everything you may need, in addition to the beautiful landscape at the time of arrival or take off

The place is very nice, it hurts the attention. Not all but the majority of operators do not provide service, giving a bad image to the city.
