Family
owned
micro
eatery
and
organic
coffee
roaster
serving
gourmet
arepas
with
vegetarian
options.
After
a
long
day
of
hiking
and
bird
watching,
I
wanted
arepas
something
fierce!
This
spot
had
a
cozy
vibe,
so
I
decided
to
try
it.
As
I
was
placing
my
order,
an
American
man
descended
the
stairs
from
the
rooftop
seating
to
tell
the
owners
“that
was
the
best
meal
we’ve
had
in
Colombia!”
Thus
setting
the
bar
for
high
expectations.
I
ordered
the
two
arepas
special—both
were
queso,
huevos
y
aguacate—and
an
ale
from
a
local
brewery.
The
arepas
were
huge!
They
came
with
a
cilantro
aguacate
sauce
that
tied
all
the
flavors
together.
My
only
critique
is
that
the
queso
fresco
was
really,
really
salty,
so
I
removed
a
good
portion
of
it
for
my
palate
preference.
I
ended
up
taking
the
other
arepa
home
and
eating
it
on
the
next
day’s
hike.
These
are
big
arepas!
The
ambiance
is
lovely,
especially
the
upstairs
seating
which
gives
a
bird’s
eye
view
of
some
of
the
goings
on
of
Minca.
Super
friendly
people,
good
food
and
a
nice
beer—plus,
when
you
eat
or
buy
coffee
here,
you’re
supporting
directly
a
young
local
family.
Do
it!
