Edit: see below (Original review) Absolutely love the subs here. Not being from the area, I have not gotten used to the lack of speed and urgency in the food service sector. Everybody is very nice and pleasant to deal with, just moving at a pace I'm not accustomed to. I will continue to wait; the subs are worth it. (New review) Tried getting some Cheba today. Went early to try and beat the rush. Waited a while. Noticed people that had ordered after me get their food, eat it, and leave. About 40 minutes. I was about to ask for my money and leave when the individual who took my order came and asked if I wanted a refund and my food. I said I wanted my money, but don't bother with my food because I have no more to eat it. Nothing else was offered. No coupon, no voucher, no lunch for me today, and no reason to return to Cheba. The food is great as long as you get it. Don't go to Cheba Hut if you have a curtin time to return to work.

We haven’t been here in a long time but we will come back again and again. The subs are outstanding. Salads are great! But, they have a great beer selection and the bartender (Jacob) is the best. He’s super nice and does a great job explaining the specials. I’ve included the specials for the week in the pics below. Staff were super nice. Great food!

Cannabis is an entire culture here. Very good food. Nicest staff. Clean restaurant. Highly recommend. I had the Chronic (BBQ roast beef) sandwich and garlic bread.

After a 2nd time with bad experiences, I thought I'd finally review. Very disappointed because I loved this place! My last two experiences were not good. Both phone orders. My take out order had really brown avocado. 2nd bad experience was when picking up my order. I was told it would be ready in 15min. I waited an additional 15 min to even ask. Over 30 minutes for one sandwich and I was treated like a jerk for wanting my order. They obviously knew it was me waiting but decided to yell across the restaurant at me when there was no one else waiting. I thought it was very rude! I did not think I was being unreasonable after waiting 40 minutes. I hope the other locations are not like Ellison one.

I generally do like these subs, but they can't get the order right for anything we order. DO NOT MAKE SPECIAL REQUESTS, I guess they were too high to read the request for no pickles or my wife's request for no olives. They dumped the olives in her sub and as you can see from the pic, there's pickles right on top of the mess of a sub for mine. The taste of their subs is great, minus the lingering pickle smell/taste I didn't want. The house dressing is amazing and the amount of stuff is way better than Subway. The sub was not toasted, and the dressing made it a soggy mess. For $14 you would expect them to at least get the order right. I would've given 3 stars on food if it was just mine. My wife said hers was inedible due to the olive pile and she just tossed it in the garbage. I didn't pick it out of the garbage for a pic, sorry. This is why it got reduced to 1 star on the food. As to the service getting 1 star, we came after the dinner rush with only like a couple people in the dinning area proper and a few at the bar. It took them 39 minutes to make our 2 subs. I didn't bug them or pester either. Just sat there drinking soda after soda waiting. When placing the order, the person was non-attentive and we had to repeat ourselves several times for them to even get the sub itself right. Though it did state no olives on hers and pickles on mine. The atmosphere itself is awesome. Loved the music they were playing and the pot themed everything got lots of laughs as we had a ton of time to look ever everything. I can not in good faith recommend this location.

Extremely disappointing. My daughter and I had lunch or tried to have lunch here today it was terrible from customer service to food. We ordered our food around noon on a Tuesday it was not too busy. Our food order took a little over an hour before we received, we were starving by the time we got our food. When the server brought our food I noticed the size of mine immediately I tried stopping her & said "excuse me" as the server quickly walked away she did not acknowledge us at all. I walked up to the register waited for one of the 6 employees behind the counter to help but not one did. An employee sitting at a table with other guests, walked up to me said "what's up, did you need something" I explained that I ordered an 8 inch not a 4 inch sandwich. He began to look up our order, then told me well you only got charged for the 4 inch, I can have them make another 4 inch but they're really busy & it'll take at least 30 minutes to make. He made me feel like I was being an inconvenience so I told him that's okay I'll just eat what I got & if I'm still hungry I will just get food from somewhere else he said "okay". I sat back down ate my sandwich because I was so hungry at that point after waiting for so long. My daughter was eating her sandwich then she looked at me "omg mom look" she had a bug crawling in the middle of her sandwich. I could not believe! I grabbed her basket of food walked back up to counter same employee said "what's up"again I told him there's a bug in my daughter sandwich he quickly got up asked if I wanted a refund I said yes please. Then he told me at that point that they were making me another sandwich I told him no thanks I'm not hungry anymore. We left immediately. To be honest my sandwich had no flavor at all it was very bland & the service from the server ignoring us to even the bartender too that walked right past us multiple times basically looking the other way on top of everything else, this was a terrible experience & beyond disappointing.

Their subs are good, but they definitely hold off on the toppings. I think only I had like one slice of bacon in the entire 14-inch White Widow Sub. Chips are sold separately, but for the cost of the sub and lack of toppings, they could be included. Sub comes wrapped in foil if you get it to-go. Their soda fountain didn't look very clean, so I skipped that. The staff looked like they were ready to go home a few hours before 🙃 Definitely paying for the 420 aesthetic, not the taste/ quality of food or cleanliness.

I live in Rio Rancho, but will from now on be going out of my way to go to the Central Cheba Hut location. My coworkers and I placed a DoorDash order and one sandwich was missing. I called to see if I could just have the sandwich made and I’d pick it up. The girl on the phone was super kind and also offered me a free pinner for my next visit. The problem arose when I went in to pick up my sandwich. It took me 20 mins to get there and the girl at the pickup counter was very rude and told me she packed my order and knew the sandwiches were in the bag. I told her everything else was there but this one sandwich. I don’t know if the DoorDash driver took it out of our bag or what happened, but the lack of customer service absolutely flabbergasted me. If I knew they weren’t going to make my sandwich I would’ve never taken the time out of my work day to drive there. I called and spoke to a manager and they wanted to offer me free sandwiches, but I honestly won’t ever go back to this location after today.

Love the weed thyme and the food was great. But what I loved the most was the portion choices. We rode the bikes in and no place for leftovers, really didn't want to waste food so. Really enjoy our lunch. Staff was pretty badass too😁

I will always give Cheba a Solid 5 stars!! I love this place! It's my go to, my little guilty pleasure 😊 haha 🫶🏼 The subs are second to none, the beer selection is great and the atmosphere is fun! My wife and I will be seeing you all soon! 😁

Good people, great toasty subs. Haven't been to Cheba Hut in a few years, so I dropped into the Westside location. Was super impressed with the new digs, and the addition of a bar! It's like they took my childhood and wrapped it in cannabis pop culture in the best way possible. The cereal bars are out of this world! Keep up the great work ^_^

Food is great I love the AK-47 it's the best! The atmosphere is very lively and the service at the bar tends to be quick it's always packed so if you're not one for the crowds no worries they have a place for you out on the patio. Overall pretty good experience when hanging out with friends for the evening

A friend introduced me to Cheba Hut a few years ago and I've loved it every since. I stuck to 1 sandwich but I'm slowly trying out the other ones. Always fresh, always on point and always friendly. I love coming here after my trips in the neighborhood. 🥰

The nug sandwich I had ordered……took forever (25 minutes) to make and delivered to my table. I could have made my own less than in 5 mins. And plated well for presentation. I will be going back to the Cheba Hut on Central it is way better the workers make the sandwiches quick & fast and presented well. And the manager & employees greet and ask customers if they satisfied with their food.

Have only been there three times in the past almost two years and I can tell you the sandwiches are excellent. Atmosphere or so so. But then again I'm a senior and this place is definitely a younger crowd. We'll go back for the sandwich plus you can have a beer.

All types of delicious toasted subs with a big variety of flavors, friendly staff, fun atmosphere, quick service, craft beers, and soda. I ignored this place for years when I first moved here due to the overt stoner vibes and restaurant chain consistency, but have been kicking myself ever since being dragged to try it with a friend. Their fresh in-house bread is key, as well as their seasonings & sauces, to really make each sub deliciously enjoyable. There are so many combinations of flavors using different meats and fresh veggies and sauces that sometimes it can take a while to decide what to get. The sandwiches do really come out different, unlike other sub places, that it makes it easy to return on a frequent basis and not get tired of the food at all.

The food was very tasty. However, there was very little meat and cheese in one sandwich and no dressing at all, and the other was loaded with meat. We were also missing substitutions. This was our first time trying the Westside location. Our previous visits were at the Central location. Won't be ordering here again. I will just make the drive into town.

They have several sandwiches and each sandwich has its own unique flavors I got the ALB-chronic and also the Acapulco Gold Baltimore have their signature flavors.
