    One of the best restaurants on the island! The fillet mignon & fresh snapper were extremely delicious!!! And the homemade biscuit ice cream & chocolate cake were divine. The guy’s serving us were super friendly & helpful, they know what they’re doing! Exceptional service! Definitely a must-visit when in Terceira.

    This is a must do stop for dinner when you visit Terceira. Roberto personally served us and was the most gracious host. He spent 10-15 minutes discussing out likes and dislikes of wine to pair with our meal and it was superb. A truly genuine experience you do not find in many restaurants. Very homey and personal. Highly recommend the duck salad as a starter. Bring euros as some international cards do not work. Very reasonable for what we had!

    Our second time here and the expectations were met:) We came without a reservation (late October, not high season) and were able to get a table for two. Food was simply excellent (starter: lapas, main: tuna + filet mignon, dessert: chocolate cake + cinnamon ice cream + lemon pie), everything tasted very homey and fresh. One of the desserts was on the house! We were offered a relatively expensive bottle of Azorean wine but it was really delicious and there was no pressure (you can always say "no" unlike some of the other reviewers state;)). The service is outstanding, they really know how to make you feel special and cared for. Roberto's son even gave us a lift back to town because we couldn't get a taxi. Thank you very much and see you again soon!

    If you are anywhere on the Azores island of Terceira, you must go to this restaurant The best food, wine & service. I'm afraid that once Michelin discovers this place it will be impossible to get in. We were lucky enough to get waited on by the proprietor. He suggested the wine, based on our budget and tastes. The food they serve is based on what they have just acquired and is fresh, fresh, fresh. No menu, which means you get what is fresh and good. I had lamb, that was melt in your mouth tasty. My wife said it was the best tuna she ever had. If you're a wine connoisseur, you would be remiss not to go there. Robert probably has the best stock of fine Portuguese wines in the country.     We enjoyed a Great dinner last night at Roberto’s! We started with Duck salad & oven roasted garlic shrimp. I had the grilled swordfish & my wife had the pork ribs. Swordfish was cooked perfect juicy & tender, brushed with an herb butter. The pork had nice crunchy crust and tender juicy rib meat. The crust had a hint of pineapple which it was served with. We finished off with lemon pie with an amazing meringue top. Roberto also brought a little homemade ice cream dusted with cinnamon for us to try. Roberto also picked out a nice wine from Douro. It feels like Roberto invites you into his home, you leave as friends. If you are in Terciera you must try Taberna Roberto.

    We recently visited the islands and we count Roberto's as the absolute highpoint of our dining experiences. From the moment we walked through the door and throughout the evening we felt so completely welcomed by Roberto and Marilda and the restaurant staff. The food and wine selections were amazing and the meal was cooked to perfection. There are so many things about the island that we love and that will bring us back and Roberto's ranks at the top of the list.

    Great spot in the middle of the countryside. The food was phenomenal- we had the limpets and a fresh fish which we were able to pick out prior to the meal. Definitely recommend for a visit to Terceira. Warning - they don’t take credit cards only debit/cash.

    Easily my favorite meal on the island. Personable service, family owned. Menu is limited to what they have fresh and changes daily. The duck salad was fresh and amazing. The pork ribs were incredible, and super fatty (in a good way, almost like pork belly). Make sure to make reservations, and ask for wine recommendations in your price range

    Stopped here for lunch because of the reviews. Would have to agree with everyones rave reviews about this place. The food was so fresh. Roberto even brought out the fish and meat selection so we can pick our own cuts/fish. The service was amazing, the atmosphere was perfect, wine selection superb! And they also have beer and liquor if you dont drink wine. This was my favorite meal on the whole island. This is a “Must Go”!

    Roberto and staff gave us the best dining experience we've hard during our stay in Terceira. We had the dry aged steak (best steak I've ever hard, incredibly flavorful), fish, octopus, wine, 20 year scotch, ice cream, clams and more. Food was fresh, flavorful and delicious. Roberto was an incredibly gracious host. He was with us the whole night, sharing with us all the details of the menu, as well as how he started the restaurants with his wife when it was just a bar. It was an incredible, can't miss dining experience!

    All I can say is... Wow, what an amazing experience! Roberto’s is the best there is on the island of Terceira. I had one of the most amazing meals of my life there. We had a tour guide recommend it to us, and I am filled with gratitude that he did, because the only thing wrong with this place is that it’s not in a location that the average tourist is likely to stumble across. The experience started off with an introduction to Roberto himself. The moment I met him he had an aura about him that very few people have where you know immediately you are in good hands. Roberto led us into the kitchens where you see the wood fired ovens blazing and Roberto and his wife introduce you to all of the items they have available for you. I originally was going to choose the filet mignon, which is always a safe bet especially on the island of Terceira, but Roberto recommended what I believe was the emperor fish which literally came out of the pristine waters off the coast of the island like fifteen minutes prior to us arriving at the restaurant. I love seafood. I have had thousands of seafood menu items in my life. The emperor fish I had that day was, hands down, the best fish I have ever eaten in my life. Roberto also recommended a variety of wines to suit a variety of tastes and or budget, but he made a point of recommending the best wine for that specific fish which is what we decided to go with. Once again our trust in Roberto was richly rewarded with the perfect wine pairing for the perfect fish. The dessert menu was relatively small. I ordered the lemon pie. It was also phenomenal. Our party of three walked into Roberto’s with one objective: enjoy the best meal the island of Terceira had to offer regardless of the cost. We achieved that objective. The total for the meal was just over €100 (cash only) which is on the high side for the island, but we spared absolutely no expense. This was a dining experience that would beat any experience in the USA for three times that cost. We could easily have walked away from the table after an amazing meal for less than half of that cost, but like I said earlier Roberto has that aura about him that makes you want to take a chance in order to experience one of the finest, if not THE finest, meal you have ever had in your life. Well done my friend. I will see you again next year!

    This restaurant was absolutely outstanding! Best food I've ever had! The chefs escorts you back to the kitchen to pick out what food you want to cook. I had the beef tenderloin with the octopus! Weird right?!? The octopus was incredibly tender and juicy along with the steak! I would absolutely visit this place again if I had the chance. Besides the amazing dinner we had homemade ice cream for dessert! An amazingly delicious way to finish off the meal with an amazing dessert!! Just remember to bring cash bc they dont take card.
