I came to Stella a few years ago for electrolysis treatments. She tends to over-promise and under-deliver. She looked at the area I told her I wanted completely cleared of hair and she told me it would just take 10 sessions, so I started going to her for treatments because I figured it was reasonable to go here for just 10 sessions and have all the hair permanently removed. However, I went to her for multiple sessions, we went past 10 sessions and the area was nowhere close to being cleared. I still had a ton of hair in the area. She just lied to me and promised me it would be clear because she wanted to get more customers and wanted to take my money. She had just opened the store and told me she didn't have that many clients since it was a new location. I should have known better but I was new to all of this and she took advantage of that. I was also very young so I didn't know any better. I have wasted hundreds of dollars here. I've gone to other aestheticians that also do electrolysis after Stella and they told me the work she did was not good and the method she used was deliberately slow which just takes much longer than it should and takes out less hair. I do not recommend this place at all. I've gone to aestheticians that do electrolysis way better than Stella, so I personally don't recommend her. Huge waste of money. I feel that I was basically scammed.

What is there not to like about Stella and her nice new location? Her location is comfortable, private and a place where, as the wall says, it's "time to relax." Stella is a true professional at electrolysis, she's knowledgeable, understands and listens to your concerns, courteous, and overall creates a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. She is dedicated to these qualities and makes sure YOU feel comfortable during your appointment - no matter how long the appt is - as she is a partner is helping you achieve your look and goals. I trust Stella and her staff to provide the same level of quality and professionalism for the other services she offers. Make sure this becomes your regular place!

Stella is a wonderful electrologist. I followed her to Bare Skin Beauty because she makes my skin feel amazing! I originally found Stella after relocating to San Diego from the East Coast and after trying a few other electrologists in the area. Stella is an absolute pleasure to work with for my skin care needs (electrolysis and waxing). When she left the salon where she was previously working I was worried I wouldn't be able to find anyone as good, but then I found Stella at her new salon in La Mesa and am very excited that I get to continue working with her! The salon space at Bare Skin Beauty is clean and relaxing, booking is easy, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I honestly cannot recommend Stella and Bare Skin Beauty highly enough to anyone looking for a relaxing place to have their skin cared for with thoughtful attention to detail and personal warmth.

Stella is simply amazing - I followed her from another location because I've never had someone who is so attentive, personable, and professional. I have very blond hair which a lot of people miss - not Stella! One of the very unfortunate things about getting older is the growth of what we euphemistically refer to as chin hairs, but are just plain old whiskers. I was so tired of constantly tweezing or threading or shaving, and after several failed rounds of laser hair removal, I decided to check into electrolysis. For some reason I was always under the impression that it would be prohibitively expensive, but it cost less than a session of the laser treatment (of which I had 5). After one session, I was so happy, and a second session took care of the few that hadn't grown out yet during the first session. The results are immediate, and the treatment is only mildly painful. Stella is so friendly and I'm so glad I decided to try electrolysis.
