October 14, 2018 there is a fall festival. I joined the group this year and went on a field trip and found some Actinolite and saw evidence of the San Andreas fault. Friendly and knowledgable society members.

We visited last year and it turned out to be the best gem&fossil shop we visited. We really like their blind boxes of gems and fossils. We actually got some high quality oyster fossils out of the boxes. The kids like the free stone piles in front of shop to find colorful stones.

Smaller than we expected, but incredibly knowledgeable docents. My 13 year old was fascinated. Great gift shop too. We drove down from Long Beach and found it well worth the trip.

If you're interested in rocks and gems, this is an awesome place! Sml ,but we'll worth visiting. The docents are friendly, knowledgeable and more than happy to share their expertise and enthusiasm with others! Great for kids too!

The docent here was amazing. He was very knowledgeable of the collection, made good puns, and had some Norse mythology to share. Free to enjoy but please donate to let others enjoy. Smoky quartz was from just UNDER the road. Gift shop had a great selection

We had a great time at the gem show earlier this month. It was even better when Leslie won the metal detector. We will use it when we visit family in Vegas, maybe find some of our Lost $

Quite small, but full of a wealth of various gemstones and other super unique and brilliant pieces. The real stars are the volunteers who are so knowledgeable and always happy to tell you more about the various items and their histories. Definitely a good place to spend an hour or two and feel like you learned something!

Do not trust these people I will just say that . They robbed me blind and said my rock was a garden rock. Perhaps it may have been after they removed what they could fortunately they didn’t get em all and it was hardly a garden rock.

The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They were very kind to my daughter, who talked about the gem shop for days afterward. Definitely stop by if you are in the area.
