Great location if you're wanting to be close to restaurants and Beacons for surfing but that is about it. The rooms have absolutely no sound proofing, so you will hear every car the drives by, every conversation outside, and the train through the night. We were also woken up at 5:30am on Sunday to people putting together tents and taking over the parking. There was no heads up ahead of time that we couldn't park in the designated parking on Sunday.

I HIGHLY SUGGEST STAYING HERE! My wife and I stayed here for my birthday recently and had an absolutely amazing time! Rooms are nice, clean, and quite comfortable. They are fairly small, so there was no sofa or anything in our room other than the bed to lounge on. Management was amazingly friendly and super helpful! There were loaner surfboards and bicycles, short walk to an amazing local surf spot called Beacon's. Very close to several incredibly tasty restaurants and neat shops. We are planning on staying here again in the fall during our next visit! Can't wait to come back!

Walkable access to local shops and restaurants but highway and train whistles may disturb some. Beacons Room, #1, was up-front so sidewalk traffic could see in and headlights from turning cars lit the room up. Remodel is good quality. No onsite management/office. We had guests party in the parking lot right outside our room until after midnight. Nikki texted he had checked it out. Probably best for young people who want to join in the festivities. Inability to personalize digital door code left me concerned about who else had the number. Would not stay in that room or on ground floor again.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights and loved it! Endless options to amazing dining within walking distance or a short car ride. Walking distance to a cliff that overlooks the ocean, also an incredible surf break that we went to every morning. The hotel is cute and modern, you can tell it's new.

My stay at Surfhouse Encinitas was a big win during my recent business trip! πŸ„β€β™‚οΈ They've got an amazing surf spot within a 2-min walk, and I was very happy with the coffee situation β˜•οΈ at Coffee Coffee just across the street. πŸ€™ The room was cozy and had a great vibe, too, and I didn't mind the train that folks mentioned. I can see how that may bother some, but the Surfhouse had a great in-room sound device for sleeping. That combined with the super comfy bed and some ear plugs made for some very nice Z's. πŸ’€ Surfhouse Encinitas did a great job balancing the combo of work and play, and I'm already planning my next visit! 🌊😎

Really enjoyed staying here. No crazy traffic, nice location right next to (literally) coffee shops, restaurants, bars, shopping, farmers market, beaches and just about everything you could ever want on a vacation. Rooms are small but efficient and clean. 4 single bunk beds in our room. Free bikes. Super friendly staff.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights and loved the vibe. Nice surf spot a short walk at Beacons and Grandview down the road was cool too. Hotel is renovated really well (most surfers don’t get Toto toilets, right?) Great coffee right across the street and awesome restaurants and bars all walking distance. Owner Nikki was super responsive and great. Only downside is the train, which was helped by earplugs that were provided. Thanks!

Nice room, clean and confortable. Welcoming and helpful staff. Be aware no reception. No problem as they respond fast phones and emails. Unfortunately trains restart at 4h30 and provided earplugs cannot help. Is really loud !

We just returned from a weekend at Surfhouse. It was such a refreshing change from the stuffy hotels we are used to. Fresh, contemporary rooms with everything you need, and nothing you don't. Extremely short walking distance to fantastic sushi, tacos, pizza, american, and Latin restaurants. Also great selections nearby for coffee and cocktails. The beach cruisers were always available during our stay, but we didn't use them because everything we wanted to visit was within walking distance. The outdoor patios were very nicely appointed and whenever we spent time on the patio near our room (upstairs) we had it to ourselves even though it appeared that the hotel was at full occupancy during our stay. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great beach community getaway.

Despite not offering any King-sized beds, our room (room 6, Swamis) was really nice. Everything was up-to-date: nice new shower, beautiful lighting, comfy bed! I would have liked a more tightly shutting bathroom door (it's just a sliding door so it's pretty easy to hear your partner in the bathroom if you're in the room). The key code entry is awesome - no check in required, just punch the code in and you're in. And no keys to carry around! The beach is literally a 5-minute walk away from the hotel - probably more like 3 minutes. We would definitely stay here again.

Very clean with a fantastic location. We even used the surf house hotel bikes to explore Encinitas!

Loved this place! Definitely recommend. A few comments: - The rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable - Nikki is awesome and super responsive via email - Very short walk to the beach, just up the street then down a path - Leucadia is rad - The train is close but not bothersome - There is no office or reception area but there is a great little outdoor table

Very fresh rooms upon arrival and had that beachy feel that says makes you think β€œyes, I am in San Diego baby!”. The room had everything we needed (a buddy and I who were here for the weekend) and the walk ability to restaurants was superb. I high recommend staying here! No complains at all!

Such a charming vibe, strong brand, and truly EPIC location to restaurants, the beach, and all the things you need in California. Friendly, helpful, and flexible staff. Very fun experience and many helpful recommendations and discounts with local businesses.

We loved our stay here! Great location and the rooms are very nicely updated. No frills but no complaints. Walk up a small hill to wonderful beach access, as seen in my photos.

Fantastic place for the family surf holiday. The break is a short walk with boards, coffee across the street, great restaurants within a block. Nikki was a great host. We did lessons with him as well. He wa a great with our girls. We didn’t rent a car or really need one the whole time. Everything was right there. Definitely will come back.
