The place is very beautiful and it has still the Camino Spirit. This place is not expensive but you always have to walk 1 kilometer up and down the hill to get to the next supermarket or proper restaurants. No bus stations. Nothing. They have a small mercado that they close at a time when most pilgrims are coming and opens at 6:00 pm. If you want to be a little relax after walking 500 miles then this is NOT the place to go.

I loved my stay here. This will be the only place I'd stay whenever I'm in Santiago. They have everything. A cafeteria with a mini supermaret in the basement, washing machine and dryers (both coin operated), showers and toilets, common area, and dining room. It's in top of a hill, so affords a good view. And the building itself is lovely - it used to be a seminary. (Just keep in mind it's a pilgrim's hostel, not a 'starred' hotel.)

Check-in was slow as there was a queue. The installations are large with plenty of services like washing/drying machines, hand washing/drying facilities, communal toilets & showers, shop, breakfast area & there's free Wi-fi. Views are good especially from 3rd floor. My individual room was basic but clean you put your pillowcase & mattress sheet on yourself. Not bad value for money at 25€,breakfast 5€, washing machine 3.50€ & dryer 4€. Nice, quiet location next to beautiful stepped garden's facing towards Cathedral & Old Town. PS. On my second visit a week later the Check-in was much quicker at 3 pm than previous at 5 pm. But they didn't clean floor of Room 336 this time.

What a beautiful space to stay after walking the Camino. Highly recommend spending a few extra euros for a single room (when I booked it was only $2 more than staying in the mixed dorm room and you have your own sink). They have an elevator (so nice after walking so much!), lots of vending machines with coffee/snacks, laundry machines/hand washing space/air dry racks and lots of random nooks to sit and look out the windows at a gorgeous view. It was a little farther away from the cathedral than I would have liked (but only a ~15 min walk…there there was a steep uphill/downhill…still worth it though).

Big, nice, clean albergue. Stay here is special experience after arrival in Santiago. Albergue is open unitil 00.30am so you can have fun in the evening and still get back to albergue in the night.

Old albergue for pilgrims mostly full book, close to Cathedral, but need to walk up hill and many steps, never hard for all pilgrims haha

A very well organised large hostel with plenty of modern showers. Everyone has a lockable cabinet for their possessions. Washing machines, driers, a kitchen and nice seating areas

Single rooms were simple, quite clean and equipped with an hand sink. The guys at the reception are very nice and helpful - on the other hand the cashiers at the bar a bit moody. The bar inside is a plus. There are also vending machines in the entire (huge) building. The location offers a beautiful view of the city, but the road to get inside is dark at night. Pay attention to the opening time (they close at 00:30 and after that time you cannot get inside).

A large but efficient and clean hostel. Good location from the cathedral (a large up and down to get there but managable) and good use of a beautiful (unused) building. The showers do not have hooks or shelves, which is always a challenge, however the food, kitchen and washing area is large clean with good fresh breakfast and essentials on sale.

Huuge facilities. A lot of bedrooms, very clean, spacious, numerous bathrooms. Well equipped kitchen. Big common areas. It’s not on the city center, but a short walk from it. Covers everything a traveler might need from a place to stay and sleep/rest.

Clean and basic rooms. Bathrooms are plenty and also clean. Friendly atmosphere. This is a perfect place for tired pilgrims to rest a few days. Unfortunately there is no kitchen nor water heater und no meals are provided.

I can highly recommmend paying €4 more and upgrading to a single room. Clean, little supermarket/ cafe, fully equipped kitchen, washing machines and dryers, super hot showers, out side space, etc. ... stay a couple of days and integrate/ wind down. 🙏

Booked 2 rooms for me, my girlfriend and our kid. I asked if it’s ok that our kid could sleep in a indoor pop-up tent in our room. The “advised” not because this is not a campsite. I told them again we are doing this for 3 years. They didn’t say no but “advised” to cancel. Conclusion: not chilfriendly, not flexible and not even honest. I agreed to their advice. Worst communication in 3 years of travelling.

A pleasure to be there after my Camino. Close enough to the centre of Santiago, with stunning views and a new perspective.

Magnificent building with clean rooms and friendly reception. Only drawback is that there are too many corridors but not enough signs so it is easy to get lost inside the building.

A great base for exploring Santiago de Compostela. It has everything a pilgrim could need. Comfortable beds, nice baths, lockers, huge kitchen and dining room, free luggage storage, laundry, etc.

Incredible building and location. Huge, basic, comfortable accommodation in dormitories. Cafe and refectory area, as well as a big kitchen. It's not luxury, but it is impressive! Friendly check-in too

After finishing the Camino of Portuguese coast, I stayed two days in the single room. The alberque is quite big and clean and quiet.

I ended up staying there for 3 nights! I treated myself to a single room which is highly recommendable especially now in the summer when summer camps may have group bookings for teens! Showers are in great conditions, kitchen is well-equipped, total freedom and good vibe, that's how I saw it!

The mattresses are a bit hard, but the building is very beautiful, and the perfect resting place when you end the camino

It's the best if you're budget traveler. Price, clean and bed is ok for the price. You can cook your foods. Little noisy but you can put up with..

This is an experience every pilgrim/tourist should have esp. during Holy Week. I personally would spend at least 2 nights here to make the stay worth it. It is situated on a small hill so you can see the city below depending on which side you're on. The individual rooms are clean, comfy, and cozy. There is a sink inside with nice water pressure. The amenities are clean, newly renovated, and well-supplied. The kitchen is huge. There is also a supermarket inside which is super convenient. Not too pricey also.

It's absolutely super place by price/quality. 21eur for a private room with 3 windows and a sink. Shared showers and toilets are modern. Personal are awesome. Perfect English and so helpful. Views from entrances are amazing, especially on the sunsets.

It is a perfect lodging for many people on pilgrimage. There are not high standards, but enough for the porpose and it is very clean and comfortable!!!

Typical place to stay for the night as a pilgrim. Good facilities, very friendly and helpful reception. Good value for money. Quite close to the city center. You need to walk up a hill which should not be a problem for a pilgrim.

This place has a character. If you Care for the atmosphear and meeting nice people it is a good place to stay. There where NO soap in wc and NO cover for the cover. Best kichen that you can imagine for a hostel! A bit far from the center. Make sure that you are ready for another kilometer to and from the city.

The best thing about this Albergue is the price for a single room with a sink and the location. The cafe, shop, and kitchen in the basement are also good things. The rooms are pretty sparse and the bed very modest. Almost no water in the sink. There's a constant coming and going at all hours and the corridors enhance the noise. OK for a night.

I had no hot water in the shower Tiny showers (I saw some normal down the hall afterwards) No basin to wash my hands in the toilet There is a short but quite a steep hill to get to the hostel The whole place felt quite creepy to me I took individual room

👍👍 Definitely worth trying theirs tortilla! They offer it here just as a side dish with every drink you ask, even water. Prices are not low here but also not high, it serves just normal dishes you can find in other places. The interior of the restaurant wasn't cosy as for me, tables and chairs are too...
