A local institution for decades, Sr. Juan de la Cruz Gonzales, universally known as "Cruz," is a highly skilled artist in wood carving. He sculpts plaques and panels, ornate hand-carved doors, furniture. On the high end offers inlaid furniture showing off the many varieties of local hardwoods that struggle to survive in the age of deforestation. His hand-crafted wooden signs, which he knocks out with amazing speed using mallet & chisel, grace most of the businesses and half the front doors in town. Stop on the way into Volcán so the gifts you order can be ready by the time you leave.

Will handcraft whatever design you have out of superb hardwoods. Paint the sculptures if you like too.
