I
found
Buen
Hombre
in
my
search
for
flat
water
kitesurfing
spots
in
the
Dominican
Republic
last
year,
a
true
jewel.
I
managed
to
visit
this
paradise
in
January
2021
in
spite
of
the
COVID
restrictions.
I
discovered
so
much
more
than
I
had
envisioned!
After
many
trips
to
the
DR
I
had
the
feeling
to
get
to
know
the
country
and
people
for
the
very
first
time.
Maybe
it
is
the
seclusion,
maybe
the
simplicity
creates
perfection,
maybe
it
was
meeting
all
these
interesting
people,
however
most
certainly,
it
was
the
amazing
hosts
Eva
and
Riin
that
made
the
atmosphere
so
very
unique.
Included
in
this
wonderful
environment
was
an
awesome
kite
spot
including
a
huge
shallow,
flat
water
area
and
wave
zone
at
the
reef.
In
contrast
to
my
previous
experience
as
a
tourist
who
always
avoids
large
resorts,
I
felt
as
part
of
a
family
the
entire
time
of
my
stay.
Many
people
already
have
provided
good
comments.
The
fresh
and
tasty
food
was
prepared
locally.
Everybody
came
together
to
eat
on
a
long
table
which
set
the
stage
for
great
conversations
with
other
guests
and
the
friendly
team.
This
kite
camp
is
perfect
for
novice
and
advanced
kitesurfers.
Mickey
and
Eric
are
not
only
amazing
kitesurfers,
they
also
understand
to
transfer
their
vast
knowledge
and
experience
effectively.
In
addition,
this
place
is
perfect
to
disconnect
from
the
craziness
of
life
and
find
yourself.
You
won't
need
a
teacher
for
meditation.
You
simply
walk
down
the
beach,
find
solitude,
and
let
the
sound
of
the
waves
guide
your
meditation.
The
sound
of
waves
accompanied
me
for
my
entire
stay
of
two
weeks.
I
learned
how
little
is
needed
to
be
happy.
There
aren't
many
days
where
conditions
don't
allow
for
kiting.
On
calm
days,
one
can
enjoy
snorkeling,
diving,
hiking
or
enjoy
the
ocean
on
a
paddle
board.
The
16
km
(10
miles)
downwind
kite
session
over
azure
blue,
clear
water
from
Paradise
Island
to
camp
Buen
Hombre
was
breathtakingly
beautiful.
The
reef
was
on
one
side
and
endless
mangrove
forests
on
the
other.
I
have
tried
to
capture
the
feeling
I
had
at
Buen
Hombre,
but
words
fail
me.
I
recommend
that
you
go
and
see
it
for
yourself!
I
think
it
is
important
to
support
tourism
that
is
peaceful,
slow,
and
close
to
local
people
and
nature
over
the
usual
all
inclusive
luxury
resorts.
It
seems
the
right
way
to
strengthen
local
infrastructure
and
economy.
I
hope
that
the
national
and
local
government,
especially
in
the
Monte
Christi
region,
realize
this
and
support
carefully
expanding
the
local
infrastructure.
I
for
one
will
revisit
the
kite
camp
Buen
Hombre
many
times
in
the
future!
Thank
you
so
much
for
everything
guys!!
