Absoluteley beautiful, we wanted to do the waterfall, but without a big guided group tourists..so we decided to do it on our own.. we took the bus to the nearest village.. then took a cocho who was supposed to drop us at the beginning of the jungle for the walk..but he dropped us on the way to the jungle at his home where his whole family.. childeren, men, women were.. he asked if we wanted a horse because the hike was very long.. we agreed.. for 20 euros.. and we got 1 horse.. we taught we'll get each one.. but it was 20 euro for one horse , so one of us was walking and his son agreed to guide us.. honestly.. we would not have found the waterfall on our own.. there were nowhere trailmarks or names.. just nature.. we crossed 7 or 8 rivers( so if you go, take river shoes.. it will save your day) oh and the boy didn't speak even 1 word English.. so if you go, learn the basic sentenes.. also! There was 0 mobile service.. so we couldn't contact anybody.. so don't get lost.. and one last tip: make sure you leave the village at time before dark.. we were on time for the last bus, but this one was full, so he just passed us without stopping and we had to take two different cochos late it night to bring us at our hotel, and at night it is not safe for tourists.. even if people are nice and helpful during the day ,it is still a country with a lot of poverty( at the end of our holiday was got robbed violently)

The waterfall is beautiful and completely breath taking. I went twice… that’s how incredible it is. It’s am out 3 hours to hike on foot. 1 hour on horse. How I got there. I took a bus to the small town where the waterfall is. The town is totally safe. I talked to the people outside at the different houses and no violence or nothing bad happens there. I went twice. I did the hike on foot and then returned and did a horse ride. Loved it that much. Waterfall deserves 5 stars plus! It breaks my heart to give it 2 stars but I had too because the guy I’m the picture lies and tricked me. Im he tried to intimidate me for more money. The guy in the picture charged me a thousand pesos to ride a horse, then when we returned he wanted 1,500 and he gave me a hard time like he was going to do something bad. This is for the 3 stars. His name is junior. Bad person. Even the lady that gave us the horse gave me a look like she was sorry he was doing that to me.

Beauty of Los Haitises national park isn’t describable. Nature is so virgin and untouchable by human yet. On site is few local tour guides with small and middle boat choices, offering 2-3 hours rides to caves. Even sea walk is nice and refreshing. Love the trip, however I advice to drive SUV to there. We came from the capital on low stand sedan and it took much more time as the part of the road is rustic and in construction. Even so, looks like soon will be built much better road version. Will return back for sure 😍

You need a guide for this trip! The locals tried to convince us that we needed a guide and horses but we thought that this was another scam like we have been experiencing. We were wrong. We made it 100m into the park before turning back because there was too much mud. A local family was very kind to supply us with horses and a guide for 2400 pesos. It was a two hour horse ride to the falls where we crossed rivers and walked through plantations to get to the waterfall. The trail is not well marked so it is good we had a guide or we wouldn't know where to go. It was beautiful at the waterfall! We didn't stay long as we had a two hours ride back before dark.

(Translated by Google) This is a place that we should all visit and not miss the opportunity to live a wonderful experience with what nature can offer us. In my case I live in the province of Samaná and frequently visited in the park. I have seen citizens who travel thousands of kilometers away, even from other continents and are amazed by what this natural park has for the delight of sight, so, we Dominicans must value much more what this beautiful country offers us. (Translated by Google) To visit the place you must go with someone who knows the area, since the visit I made must be by boat. Vegetation grows from the depth of the water. The color of the water changes from blue to turquoise, since it is a point where fresh and salt water meet. (Original) Para visitar el lugar debes ir con alguien que conozca la zona, puesto que la visita que yo hice debe ser en lancha. La vegetación crece desde la profundidad del agua. We never made it to the waterfall but we had a lot of fun. We followed the trail starting from Magua with a motor taxi. Than we went always straight but this is not the route you want to take. It goes up in the mountains and is very long. Instead you should go left and follow a path along the river which might be a bit hard to find. The river path goes left and right of the river as you cross the river multiple times.

Tallest waterfall in the Caribbean, a real treat which one can only reach via a rainforest hike with guide. The first few miles involve trekking through cacao and coffee plantations mixed with mature Ceiba trees and river crossings.

I travel all over the world. This place stuns me with its beauty and has sunk into my heart. Nature is very beautiful. This time I stayed in "leaping Jalda". I also want to thank you Dominicana Eco - Excursion in Punta Cana for a pleasant pastime. I recommend it!

It also has caves where visitors can come and meet them. Other is not given access to visitors because it is not yet believed to be completely safe to enter. Nor they are conditioned. (Translated by Google) Very impressive, especially the road to it. For physically unprepared people it will be difficult, mules, mountains, insects. We came here with a 5 year old daughter. Caught in a tropical downpour. I personally had to go back on foot. But the Waterfall charged with frantic energy, so we got there in one go, and the mules ran home faster than to the waterfall 😆. The bad weather washed out the roads, I had to spend the night with the locals. Another adventure !!!

Amazing boat tour to Los Haitises National Park. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, and kept the entire group engaged. Unfortunately, the mangroves were closed off due to a fallen tree blocking the way, but this did not prevent anyone from seeing the natural beauty of the park.

(Translated by Google) Peninsula tours made us discover this magnificent site starting from playa las Garitas near Sanchez. It is in a small boat and equipped with life jackets that we crossed the bay of Samana for about 30 minutes and there we discover the islets like floating adrift! Some covered with lush vegetation, others with cliffs or caves! We will see 3 including that of the angel! Then we will stop the engines at the bird island to better observe them (frigates, pelicans, egrets ...) Then comes the visit of the mangrove and its entire ecosystem before joining the superb hotel Caño Hondo ecolodge to eat a buffet meal and swim in its natural pools. A big thank you to this nice team made up of Henry and our French guide Luis who reflected the good mood maybe a little helped by the many rum / coke stops! 😜 (Original) Peninsula tours nous a fait découvrir ce magnifique site en partant de la playa las Garitas près de Sanchez.
