It might have been fine, but despite our communication of our late arrival, and them holding a card, they gave our room away. I added a point because the staff was helpful and friendly and helped us find another room (though it took forever and was a bad hotel, but such is life). They emailed that if we wanted to guarantee the room, we should make a payment and offered to send the link to pay. I asked for the link and they never sent it.

Extremely noisy day and night. Uneducated staff. DO NOT pay in advance, due to no refund policy in place. Had to change flight due to personal issues and had paid 10 day stay in cash. Tried to recover 2 nights that I would not use, "management explanation"; Manager asserted that she had lost customers due to me paying for more than one night after agreeing to a set price for staying multiple nights. (Per their policy) In addition, no electric sockets available for use, extremely small bathrooms, no elevators. Positive side, none! A very bad experience overall, without taking in consideration that is located next to a slum and you will encounter hustlers every step you take. My recommendation, pay a few dollars extra and stay closer to the center of Zona Colonial, is a more touristy sector.

This hotel has a horrible guest service with booking.com clients. I have been there several times (and always liked it) and have noticed they had problems with booking.com clients before, but never understood exactly what happened until yesterday, when it happened to me!!! They do not check their booking.com reservations. So when you book with booking.com and you get there "too late". They might be fully booked. No matter what time it is, afternoon or evening - if they can sell the room before you get there, they will do it - no matter you have a booking or not. Don't recommend to book this hotel through a platform as you might will end up without a room!! They did not even inform me through WhatsApp or call me, or send me a message through this platform. They have done this with many clients. Its totally ridiculous.

The only decent thing about this place is the price and the close proximity to everything. The rooms DO NOT look like the pictures that the hotel posted, the streets are littered with garbage, the locals start blasting latin music from 8am - 9pm seven days a week, the phones in the rooms and at reception do not work, so if u have any issue or need anything u must go down to reception; there are 5 floors and no elevators, there's a lot of outside noise, a lot of quarrels and fights outside at night on the weekend, the hotel staff are not helpful and they do their best to try cheat you out of your money. They have a hotel taxi that will charge you 2 to 5 times the amount of regular taxi or uber. I ordered breakfast and got 2 dry pieces of toast, 1 egg and 2 sausage links... they advertised the breakfast for $5 USD and then told me the breakfast cost $10 USD.

The price is good and it’s close to Zona Colonial. I wasn’t a fan of the customer service, the receptionist was sarcastic in a rude way! Even though I spoke Spanish to him he wasn’t very communicative. He never offered the breakfast to us! The bathroom light wasn’t working in our room & the sink was clogged. The pictures are a lie! We ended up leaving had such a bad experience there! I also forgot to mention we booked this through the hopper app & he couldn’t find our reservation.

Bad service: Nothing to drink, haggling over the already confirmed price, giving wrong change, trying to keep me from staying anywhere outside the room after the curfew, refusing to serve the breakfast I payed for. Dangerously loose power sockets with nowhere to put the phone, so also danger of tripping or damaging the phone. No power near the night stands. Noisy desk fan took away the little space on top of a shoddy cupboard blocking the only other power socket, also loose. No desk in the room to work at. Very small room. Only good part was the hot water in the small shower, rare in this price class.

Stayed 5 nights. Comfy bed but down dressings. I'm highly allergic. They had no alternative. No brochures or ideas of sights to see. Yummy breakfast.

I previously stayed 3 times at the jade during those times service was good and Staff was helpful in suggesting sites and giving information on area. IT NOW has new cleaning staff and front desk clerk who often time are rude and not helpful in your stay

Beautiful place however in a somewhat sketchy area! Staff is very accommodating.

The place is good for 1 night if desperate. However, after making reservations for 3 rooms the day off we were given a hard time about the room availability. We were asked to pay the difference for bigger rooms because they did not have available what we requested. Eventually, they granted the other rooms without extra charge as it's not our fault they did not update their website. The lighting in the rooms were terrible. Very dim. There was no remote control for the AC. There was no toilet paper in one room, no towels in another and third room smelled as if someone had just smoked in there. The rooms looked clean as far as we could see with the dim lighting, thought I did see a small roach pass by the headboard of the bed. Also, the area seemed sketchy and made our group uneasy to linger outside longer than necessary at night. Location is nice during the day because its in the colonial area and theres lots of stores but the place just transforms into something else at night. This place does not have parking though it claims to do so. We were advised to park in front of the hotel for surveillance.

Good budget hotel in Santo Domingo. Stayed there at least six times. Staff is friendly. A good place to sleep but not much else as there’s no amenities in the hotel. It was always very clean and orderly. No parking though.

Very nice place, clean good service all and a great price, if It wasend so small you said it's a 5 star, at a hi five price.

Very nice , safe, and clean for the price. Small internet issues, and room size. But it is normal for the historically district. The staff was awesome.
