This was an excellent place to stay. Breakfast is amazing. The pool is just big enough to cool off--you won't be doing laps. The necessities of life are close-by and the colonial zone is less than ten minutes away walking. The staff are super-friendly.

The location is perfect. In the middle of the old town and yet totally quiet. We could even park y our car on the street in front of the entrance. There are plenty of great restaurants and all landmarks of the old city in walking distance. The management of the hotel was super nice and helpful. Very pragmatic and solution oriented. When we arrived, the whole place seemed like an oasis of peace and calmness and that impression didn't change during our entire stay. We were greeted with a free complimentary drink and could relax from the drive from the airport in a beautiful garden. Breakfast was prepared individually and was also very yummy. It is unfortunately becoming increasingly rare to be able to say that, but in this hotel everything was perfect. If we come back to Santo Domingo we would stay in this hotel again without doubt.

Clean, secure and homey. The owner/manager was very accommodating and hands on. He served us our breakfast. I love how they preserved the original bldg. ehich was built in 1920.

Das hotel selbst ist eine kleine Oase im sehr belebten Stadtviertel. Hervorzuheben ist das sehr gute Frühstück! Der männliche Angestellte ist wirklich sehr bemüht und weltgewandt. Einziger Minuspunkt ist ein weiterer Angestellter am (Tag)Empfang, der immer Tipps geben will, die teilweise falsch und hinderlich waren. Als wir ausgecheckt haben kam die größte Frechheit. Ich hab darauf aufmerksam gemacht, dass wir bei unserer Ankunft 3 kleine Dosen Bier bestellt haben und wollte sie ehrlicherweise begleichen. Es wurde dann der ungeheuerliche Preis von 900 pesos von ihm verlangt! Man stelle sich vor... fast 15 Euro für 3 0.33 ltr. Bier!!! Das war typische Touri-Abzocke! Und ich hoffe das liest dein Chef! Kann mir nicht vorstellen dass dies im Sinne des hotels geschah! Hat einen üblen Beigeschmack verpasst! Deshalb nur 3 Sterne

A must in Santo Domingo. The property is absolutely without a fault, with clean and cozy rooms. We were in the room with the terrace overlooking the street, and loved it there. But even more important than the property itself is the staff! Everyone we had any interactions with was extremely kind and helpful. And Ramon was a perfect host, attending to us the whole stay. It's safe to say he goes above and beyond for his guests. From arranging the transfer from the airport, through the welcome package in the room, accommodating breakfast requests, to helping us with renting a car. If we are ever back in Santo Domingo, we have no doubt about coming back here!

Stay in Villa Colonial was nothing but pleasure. It was our first "stop" on our honeymoon trip and we could have not been happier with our hotel choice. The gardens, rooms and foyer area were absolutely gorgeous. What made our stay special was Jordan and Ramòn that were the most helpful people we could have asked for. Also, the breakfast was super delicious, we had entrees, main and dessert! Highly recommend:)

It was an amazing experience at the Villa Colonial Hotel. My cousins and me want to thank Jordan in particular he was so nice and adviced us so much about the area. He is an very sweet and calm employee. We really recommend this hotel!

A small oasis from the hustle bustle of the city. We slept and ate well. The architecture of the building and splendid details make it a special place to stay. The staff were very friendly.

Well #パンダ has had an amazing week at @hotelvillacolonial in #SantoDomingo well fed and ready to checkout after 5 days. Excellent breakfast served daily and the staff and owner are excellent hoteliers.

Really nice, comfortable, clean and welcoming hotel. I had to cut short my stay due to pressures of work commitments back home. They dealt with the situation very professionally and empathetically at short notice. Particularly appreciate the way they handled the early check out and logistics of getting to the airport airport at short notice. I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

My husband and I spent 2 nights in this beautiful hotel in Zona Colonial. Best breakfast ever, and the whole hotel is beautiful decorated. Very nice and helpful owner and staff and lots of restaurants and historic attractions within walking distance. I will definitely recommend a stay in this small boutique hotel.

Excellent and welcoming service. The mattress and bed was excellent, especially the toilet was outstandingly clean. We lived before in this type of old colonial house reconstructed into a hotel, they cant redo their facilities as neat as villa colonial. The location was close to the main attractions , no noise at night(keep in mind its 2021, maybe because of covid?) And every part of this hotel is worth a photo for your instagram 😉

Hotel Villa Colonial-perfect! 10 points from 10. We have stayed there for 2 nights, while visiting Dominica Respublic. Very nice boys working here, perfect, fresh and tasty food, clean Hotel. They have helped us to find a guide, rent a car and other information, necessary for tourists. Į think that was one of our best choiced while We were traveling around Dominica.

From the moment you walk in and the staff and Ramon greet you, you feel welcome. Ramon helped plan many excursions and gave us great recommendations for local restaurants and sites to see. The complimentary breakfast they have in the morning from 8-10am is one of the most delicious snd filling breakfasts I’ve ever had. Then rhe room, it was clean, the staff did a great job at making sure everything was stocked and cleaned. The hotel itself is gorgeous and I just cant say enough good things about it.

Uncertain approach in the neighborhood by taxi but then inside-delightful. Greeted with ice cold lemonade which was a true treat, and front desk friendly and helpful. Lovely lobby and courtyard. Room was cold and clean with nice balcony. Lots of towels and nice amenities. Breakfast is fantastic! All the staff are delightful. English is not a second language but everyone tries to help. Not right in the colonial zone but close enough to get everywhere- plus ocean a few blocks away and el conde shopping street two blocks up. Great place! Get the room with the balcony!

It was our first stay in dominican republic. The place is great and the location near from everything. But better then just an hotel was the stafff of the hotel! The chef and his employe are all nice, looking after the details and making every things so that the stay of there client becomes perfect! We loved the Hotel Villa Colonial! A gem in the middle of the colonial city. Tons of character. Very clean. Everyone who works there is delightful. And Ramon can tell you everything about the island. The breakfast was amazing and the inside/outside setting unique. We loved it!

We really Enjoyed our Stay here! First of all we booked Last Minute and Ramón was super helpful in Setting everything up including airport Transfer. The room was super clean, the breakfast delicious with various options to choose from ( personal favorites: the poached eggs with Salsa and crispy bacon and the mexican style Omelette). Ramón and the staff were Great in arranging various trips and helped us with suggestions for Restaurants, Bars and Cafés. If your are Looking for a private, quiet, clean, down-to-Earth and relaxed Place to Stay - this is it!

Highest standard hotel so far on my Dominicana trip. Stayed just one night though. Room clean and comfortable. Great breakfast. Walking distance to the main street and several historic places one must see. Easy recommendation for a 1-2 day stay on a sightseeing trip for someone looking for European level hotel.

This is a very lovely, well-maintained hotel in walking-distance of all the sights in the Zona colonial. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean, and the outdoor spaces, including the pool, were beautiful. The breakfast is delicious. Ramon and his team are friendly, attentive and helpful. They gave us many recommendations.

This Hotel went beyond my expectations! Breakfast is great, lot of variety of eggs and desserts, one better than the other. Rooms are clean and very quite. Absolutely recommend!
